I was ready to offer my AmiAmi preorder that I won't pay to someone who would want it to avoid paying marked up prices later but seeing how AmiAmi are sending duds, I better leave it be.

Time and circumstances change, the old YF-19 despite its many many flaws was a huge leap from the old 1/72 19 and was the best and only one available at it's time. Hell it kept its value all this time until this new one was released.

Perception and value varies from person to person, to us this toy may be worth every penny, most of us are graced to be able to afford, understand and enjoy a hobby like this. If you feel this is too expensive for you because you have other priorities, good for you and enjoy what you like.

Got shipping notification from HLJ

You can take out the "Made in Japan" tampo with isopropyl alcohol or mineral spirit, the black tampo is not easy to remove, lots of scrubbing, careful not to spread it around the wing or you will smear it around, you might remove the small layer of dull coating they usually use, barely noticeable. At least, that's what I had to do with my VF-4, a bit of a pain but far better that the big stamp in the VF-1's that you can't get rid off. You can also sand it off with 600 grit and climb to 1500 grit to match the usual shine.

AmiAmi shipping is around 40 bucks EMS compared to 30 something HLJ, that's why you get 18% discount.

I first though Macross The First, would be nice, they could get away with the slight changes to bypass HG blockage outside Japan and screw them.

I want a new story, but I have my reservations, it will be probably be sponsored by Bandai, and they will milk the crap out of uninspired designed mecha toys instead of a more coherent storyline.

Whatever it is I just want 5 main things.

1. Realistic main character, no angsty emo teenager who is naturally gifted at flying mechas. (Hikaru was very flawed in character and abilities, Isamu was a jerk, Mylene was stupid, they were real, not invisibly perfect.)

2. No Roy Focker mentor figure. (He's dead)

3. A coherent love triangle that keeps us confused until the final resolution. (The first time I saw Macross I honestly did not know who Hikaru would end up with and whoever he chose I would understand, unlike 7, Zero and Frontier, you knew who the main character wanted all along)

4. No useless Luca and side character used as time fillers that don't die.

5. Make every episode count for character and story development.

I honestly don't like places that demand this sort of thing, yes it's clearly in the FAQ's before you sign up, but how do expect one to fully commit to a pre-order for something that is not theirs, they as for 100% commitment when they cannot give me 100% assurance that the company will not go bust and leave me dangling. Sorry

Need to cancel one of my two YF-19 preorders, I have one with HLJ and one with AmiAmi, HLJ gives me the best price Y26,568 to AmiAmi's Y28,170. I understand AmiAmi does not accept pre-order cancellations and if you do so they black list your email, there's a sort of loophole in their FAQ, I could just ignore and not pay them and they should automatically cancel my order after a certain period, but will I still get black listed?

I remember that kit, it was made to order by neosteel or something, very cool looking but I didn't like it much cause it took some liberties and made it more gundamish.

The other kit is a recast from a group called SMS that pop up last year, don't know if they're the same original group or someone who got the molds, but their kit is exhausted too.

If you want to keep the scale, you could try one of Bandai's oldies, they're a bit chubby but more anime faithful and still look wicked good when done right.

I'll be honest, if I had a 1500 bucks to burn I'd probably try get this.

We're close to mid March, can Chinese factories really assembly, package and distribute all the YF-19 in less than 3 weeks properly?

Sad they didn't keep the original preorder price. I'll go with Hikaru, I don't like the DYRL Fokker style, SDFM Fokker is awesome.

As far as I know only the Chronicles Exclusive included the clear fan racer kit. They then later released stock to a few online retailers that did not include the fan racer. I know because I bought the Chronicles exclusive. I wish I would have bought a few more for display purposes but just never got around to it. Now the price is through the roof.
