the problem with animes, is that most of them are fairly similar, once you seen one, you feel like you've seen them all

they all focus in one character, a child, who is insecure and somewhat antisocial, who turns out to be the saviour of the universe but doesn't really care, is forced into the situation, and several mentors/friends help him to develop, grow up or whatever so he can finally be ready to save the world, this is mostly, when the character is male

but if the main character is a female, she is a strong whiny talented cocky girl who can achieve everything, but needs to get off her ego trip to save the world

and let's not forget the I can leap 15 feet easily and shoot fireball with my hand and have 3 episodes go by with flashbacks when they are in a battle or whatever, or the excessive I need to explain you everything or try to convince you that my phylosoohy is the right one before I kick your ass

most annoying kid character in the history of great mecha animes.... Shinji from Evangeleon, everytime I watch it I just wanted to throw the remote at him, hahhaha

that's actually something I don't quite understand from the Japanese culture, for them the age goas along with knowledge, elder people are very respected, but they have that fetish thing about little boys and girls on everything...

I acutally like the dark red on it, very original, good job!! I wouldn't sell it on ebay until (God forbids) you hit really tough times, or until the GBP armor is discontinuyed and you could sell it for a higher price

is this the Wave 1/100 VF-22S Battroid??? it seems to be on scale with that 1/72 Hasegawa VF-22S fighter, or am I mistaken and the fighter is a 1/100 scale model too??

anyway, mmm, just to mention other differences from Macross II, the Macross never had to fire those energy whatever from it's main gun every so often to discharge, after SDFM, the Macross was a pile of junk, and the two ARMD fitted on the arms and the legs of the Macross after it was rebuilted were not part of it's main cannon

altough, one could argue, this improvement could have been made after it got rebuilt, but why would you arm like that a monument that was basicly the Macross on Macross II

and Macross city was built around the Macross, but in Macross II we sorta see itself being sort of apart from the main city (if my memory serves me right)

I don't think the macross was destroyed after macross plus, it just had it's main core disabled, but if you go and say that since the main computer that control the Macross was destroyed and so it's just now scrap, then you would have to say that Isamu destroyed the entire UN Spacy since he had to disabled everything to get Sharon apple's control over everything disabled and that was the only way

Macross II was made to try and exploit the success of DYRL, but since it was made without any input from the original creators, the writers got too creative and made some extreme changes that contradicted or made no sense with the original, after it turn out to be a major flop, and Kawamori planing to go back to the Macross franchise, seeing that Macross II made absolutely no sense with what he was planning to implement and really really sucked, he decided to make it as an alternate universe to the original, or to be consider a fictional movie within the Macross universe

SDFM = good animation, good music, good story // SUCCESS

DYRL and flashback 2012 = great animation, filled up some gaps left from SDFM // SUCCESS

Macross Plus = mecha porn, meaningless story // PARTIAL SUCCESS

Macross 7 = bad animation, good story gone wrong, aweful characters, terrible music a complete waste of my life // LIMITED ACEPTANCE BY A FEW, JUST A THING OF A MOMENT

Macross Zero = new animation tecniques, new mecha, gone back to old characters and periods, treehuggin ideology a total acid trip gone wrong // PARTIAL SUCCESS, PEOPLE LEFT IN DOUBTS

I think they've seen that their most succesful franchise has been a serious story, quality animation, and good BELIEVABLE characters (no, I don't care about anyone but myself and see everyone die around me but I only play my guitar and do nothing to help the other but wine why are they fighting crap), so they must go in the right direction this time
