Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Sephiroth replied to Sephiroth's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I received my box set and I have to say that I'm very pleased with everything that was included. I paid well under what they are currently going for on eBay since I had it pre-ordred from www.hlj.com, but it was still pretty expensive after shipping. Cloud and Fenrir are awesome to say the least and I can't wait to see what's coming next. Anyway, someone brought this up at another board and it has me very interested. Square Enix is offering extra upgrade parts for the limited edition Cloud figure for 1,000 Yen. These parts look to be the ones that will be included with the international release of this figure. http://shop.port.ne.jp/sqen/sqen_dtl.php?&...9006&CAT=001103 I would really like to get a set for my Cloud figure, but I don't think it's offered outside of Japan. I asked Ken at www.toy-wave.com if he could possibly get me a set, but I'll have to wait and see. -
Thanks, I really appreciate your help.

After years of searching, I was finally able to obtain the extremely rare Bandai SS Future Trunks from the Movie 7 SBC 3-Pack. I know it's not a great figure/set in itself, but I'm very happy to finally cross this figure of my most wanted list. During my usual searches on eBay prior to getting this set, I came across a completed auction for something a Trunks figure (my favorite character) I had never seen or heard of before. I assume it's a bootleg (missing Bandai logo was a hint) of the 3-pack SS Trunks with the hair painted a broze-gold color complete with its own unique packaging similiar to the standard Bandai SBC-style packages. I'm not sure why it's has "Vol. 9" printed on it, but I think it looks very cool regardless. I have only seen this figure offered once (which is why I thought to save the pic) and I haven't had any luck finding info on it whatsoever nor anywhere else that offers this particular item for sale. I would really like to add it my collection especially since I have the original now, so if anyone here can help me out, I would be very appreciative.

Sorry, I misread your prior post. I think I read someone else's reply about the lack of character development of the new characters and what not and got it confused with you saying things were left unexplained. Your points above are some of the plot holes I noticed, but didn't think too much about them until now. They are all very valid points that I hope will be resolved within the other FFVIIAC pieces. I agree that it cheapens and invalidates a few of the most dramatic scenes that were in FFVII, but if we left the story to end just as it appeared in the last few frames of game (along with consideration of all the dialogue throughout the game that pointed to that conclusion)...then you are right, there would be no reason for AC to exist. End of story, literally. That was the true, intentional ending of that epic story...but it was the majority of fans that demanded a sequel, a return to the world and characters of FFVII that players grew to know so well...I can't fault SE for not wanting to disappoint their fans (and make a 'lil money, too ). AC is definitely not without its flaws, but I'm very happy to see it finally released after all this time. I gotta ask though, if you were given the opportunity, how would you have continued the story with respect to the source material and avoid the plot holes mentioned?

Does Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children leave a lot to be explained...yes, it was purposely created that way. This is not directed soley at you, but it seems to me that a lot of people who have viewed the film fail to understand that the Advent Children movie is only one part of a massive compilation project. FFVIIAC is not the original game simply made into a CGI movie sequel. Since AC's basic storyline was built on the foundation already established by the Final Fantasy VII game, most of the characters and their backgrounds were already well known from before; which is one of the many reasons why character developement in the CGI movie was limited. As for characters like Kadja that were created specifically for the AC series, their backgrounds are/will be explained in other media formats that make up the whole Advent Children compilation. This includes spin-off games (Dirge of Cerebus, Before Crisis, etc.), videos and other media like Last Order: Final Fantasy 7 (OVA) and FFVIIAC Prologue "On the Way to a Smile" (magazine short story). All of these will tie in together to culminate in the FFVII: AC CGI movie which focuses heavily of action sequences. It's kinda like how "The Matrix" trilogy is not meant to be viewed as stand alone movies...they are supported by "The Matrix" video games and "The Animatrix" OVA compilation that build character development; they enabled the movies to introduce new characters with little to no background and focus more screen time on the action (which is what the majority of the target audiences really wanted anyway). View AC in this light, and you will begin to understand why it was scripted the way it was. If you only watch the FFVIIAC CGI movie and base your judgement soley on it, then you will undoubtedly miss out on a lot. You will find that there is a lot left to be explained. Unfortunately, the original FFVII game and AC CGI movie may be the only parts of the compilation that get released in the US. Just know that playing the original game and watching the movie won't be enough to get the full story. Visit the site below for more info: http://www.adventchildren.net/

Okay, payment has been sent. The kits look great! I can't wait to receive it.
-
Damn, I received your e-mail but I have to wait until I get paid on Friday (14 Oct 05) to send the Paypal payment. I would like to change my order from the vanilla set to the color kit if it's not too much trouble. I am in no big hurry to receive the kit so the delay does not bother me as long as I know you can reserve a kit for me. I will still send the payment on Friday regardless if I end up having to wait for the kit. Thanks for this great offer!

I'm just waiting for someone to photoshop a rouge VF-1A into the picture and blame it on the UN SPACY. War is Smurf!

I finally received my Galaxy Force Exillion (limited edition red version) from http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ and I have to say that it was definitely worth wait. This is the version I had always hoped for ever since I picked up the initial release of the standard version Exillion. The original Hot Rod will always be my favorite from the vintage Transformers, but this repainted Exillion is definitely my favorite from everything released since then. If you look carefully, you'll notice traded out the clear wings for yellow ones as I think they look much better. Anyone else pick this figure up or plan to? What are your thoughts on it?

I ordered multiple items from Ken at www.toy-wave.com over the past three years and I will continue to do so. He always comes through with the product and he ships them fast and securely. He usually replies to questions I have within 24 hours. Recently, when my Yamato 1/48 VF-1A mass production type arrived without it's heatshield due to a factory oversight, he removed a heatshield from his own stock to replace mine at no extra cost. His prices are fair and his shipping charges are decent. He is a top-notch seller and has earned my respect and patronage time and time again. -
Ken wrote me back today and said he was going to exchange the part [from another one] and send me the heatshield since Yamato seems unable or unwilling to provide a replacment. www.toy-wave.com rocks! eming, I'm sorry that your VF-1A had quality issues as well. I'm really disappointed in Yamato over this whole situation as it seems like there is always something with every release they've had...you'd think they would have tightened their quality control standards by now.

Here ya go...

I guess I'll be leaving it in fighter mode until I can get a replacement (if ever). Save for the missing heatshield, I am pretty happy to finally have my own VF-1A Super Valkyrie mass production type. Here's a pic of vintage and new in one shot:

This is absolutely unacceptable! I finally get my Yamato 1/48 VF-1A brownie from www.toy-wave.com and I was all happy and stuff. As I inspected the quality and began transforming the VF-1A, I noticed, to my utter disbelief, that the factory failed to include the heatshield! That is such total B.S.! God, I am so pissed at Yamato right now. I e-mailed Ken to see if he could get me a replacment heatshield, but I'm probably SOL. I don't know else to get a heatshield for my VF-1A. Anyway, you may wanna check to see if your VF-1A didn't come up short as well.

You are the man! Thank you! I really like how the TV packs look vs. the DYRL packs on the VF-1A. Thanks again for the great pics!
-
I really wish someone would be kind enough to post a pic of the VF-1A with TV FAST packs on...hint, hint...
-
Put me down for one please.
-
My VF-1A should arrive in about a week; man, I can't wait. I bought an extra set of FAST packs (from Hikaru VF-1J) a while back and have been saving them until Yamato finally got around to producing the cannon fodder VF-1A (my personal fave). If you have the TV FAST packs and the VF-1A, can you please post a couple pics for me?

I own both the Gakken 1/35 Lancer VFA-6Z Alpha and the Toynami 1/55 Lancer VFA-6Z Alpha and while I can really appreciate the greater attention to detail and posability the latter provides...the former is without question more durable, easier to transform and much more fun to play with overall.

You have my prayers, buddy. I hope everything is okay and that the storm did not damage your property.
