Cool! I only wanted one Hikaru Super VF-1J, but wanted multiple TV FAST packs, this works out great for me! --EDIT-- Opps! Nevermind, I thought they were selling the TV FAST packs separately, not the VF-1J separately. <_<

It's nice to be missed, and even better to be welcomed back into the fold. And yes those fast packs will be a very nice gift when I get back to Japan. . . Along with a few other things I left behind . . . Well this time I'm signing in from Brisbane, Aust. And in November, I will be reporting from Hong Kong. Hope to see you there Graham, may be we can do some shopping. Or you can at least point me in the direction. Welcome back Darkwind, make sure you register your Low-Vis #s. My PCS got pushed back to Summer of 2004, but hopefully I will get one of my three main overseas choices: Yokota, Kadena or Misawa. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Yup, that's a Roller from a G1 Optimus Prime that I used. The Yamato pilots actually fit nicely in it as well.

Damn, Monty! That dio is amazing. I love all the detail you put into the background. s_i_t_h_l_o_r_d, that design looks pretty intricate. Will it have a working elevator? It'll be sweet when you get done, I can't wait to see it.

Good idea! Here ya go:

It'd be cool if Yamato would release a Skull Squadron ground crew with the stuff you guys are talking about. Yamato did do a diorama set up when they were first displaying the prototypes for their 1/48 line. They could even throw in one of those small transport vehicles that Roy drives in the TV series a few times. The pilot figures would fit 'cause they're already sitting.

I just got around to painting a few of the in-scale ground crew figures. For some reason, it took nearly a year for the local hobby shop to finally get the Hasegawa 1/48 ground crew sets in ( set A and B ) since I first ordered them. <_< I didn't paint them in the orange uniforms that I noticed a few modelers have been using as I wanted to use a color more in line with my low-vis pilot. I even used a few small kite and skull stickers for an extra touch of detail. Has anyone else purchased the Hasegawa 1/48 scale ground crew to compliment their Yamato 1/48s? If so, I'd love to see some pics. I love dioramas!

Here are the other spreads featuring the custom VF-1A from Hobby Japan (Feb 03):

Kakizaki...meh. Give me a 1/48 VF-1A cannon fodder, instead.

I would like to get the following sticker sheets: Two 1/48 VF-1A/S Stiker sheets One 1/48 VF-1A Low Visibility VF-1A Sticker Sheet (if available) Thanks!

I have one: #017.

Those are some beautiful shots! Brilliant lighting and excellent focus!

I don't have a decent photoshop program so I apologize for the poor quality. I think the Low-Vis specific FAST packs should match the light blue trim of the Low-Vis VF-1A: Can someone do it better for me, please? I'd really like to see a decent pic matching the blue trim.

Those DYRL FAST Packs are absolutely beautiful; however, I don't think I'll stock up too heavily on them though. I have a feeling that Yamato will have another release of separate TV FAST Packs in that greenish-blue that I much prefer over the DYRL dark-blue color...If not, I will probably have to buy multiple Hikaru VF-1Js just to get 'em. This truly has been a great/expensive year for Macross fans!

Thanks! I took just the one photo in GERWALK mode, although I'm kinda upset that it cut the right foot out of the picture.

It's starting to look like the 1/48 VF-1A Low-Vis really is limited; HobbyLink Japan just changed the availability status to "out-of-production". See for yourself: http://www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?YMT00020

In fighter mode, I don't really see what's wrong with FAST Packs being attached to the Low-Vis. In battroid mode, the light-blue heat shield does kinda clash with the dark blue of the FAST Packs, though. It'll be interesting to see how they will look on my Low-Vis, especially since I removed the weathering splotches.

Here's some engrish I found on my Bandai 1:100 L-Gaim:

Well, I finally saw this movie last night and...it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either, kinda meh. It's exactly like one critic said; if you ever wanted to see a movie where a monster eats the cast of Varsity Blues, this is the one. the ending was really lame. I definitely liked the the first Jeepers Creeper better. One of the good things to come out of my movie going experience last night was the previews. Let see, the following horror flicks are coming out soon: Texas Chainsaw Massacre Alien (Director's Cut) Cabin Fever Cold Creek Manor But I'm most interested in the preview I saw for Underworld, it looks like a cross between The Crow, Blade, The Matrix, and Interview with the Vampire.

I voted for 1/48 scale when it comes to the VF-1, but I think it really depends on what is being made. I wouldn't want a YF-19 in 1/48 scale as it would be too big to handle/transform easily. I would prefer that a new YF-19 match the size size/proportions the 1/48 VF-1 even though they wouldn't be in the same scale, ceratinly bigger than 1/72. The Gakken Alpha is just about perfect at the 1/35 scale as is the Bandai Hi-Metal L-Gaim at 1/100 scale.

I meant to post this in the Toy forums, not sure how it ended up here. I'll put up a pic of GERWALK mode tomorrow.
