  1. Hey there. New member!

I just pre-ordered my "rick hunter" Super Valkyrie. I think it's the VF-1J + armour.

Pre ordered at Hobby Link japan

They say it should be released in November. I think it's related to the Fast Pack release date. i may be wrong I am a NEWBIE.

Ah it's great to join this forum !

    <<<< see my yellow dancer

Ye gods, show mercy on this poor newbie.

  2. damn, have you guys seen the su-37 (not 27). I was watching discovery wings channel (only the cool cats watch this channel  B) ) This model apparenltly has thrust vectoring, and has grasped the concept better than most other aircraft. This jet can actually go backwards becuase it turns so quickly while retaining its inertia. I don't know about you guys, but seeing jets do the weird ass crap in midair is cool as hell.

Unfortunately for the SU-37, all that acrobatic crap won't help it against the weapons systems employed by the F-22...they'll just take out the SU-37 before they can even visually see one another.

  3. meh, as tony and jason have said,  the 1/55 is alive and well

i for one am sick of anyone drooling over a (insert scale here) stock valk

i'm declaring this now,  if all you have is stock valks, you dont have a collection,  you have "his" collection.  congratulations, you paid all that money for something anyone can get and you have nothing to show for it because you have nothing unique, wahoo.

    "stock" this...

There's beauty in keeping things stock, hell...it'd be a damn crime If I customized my vintage 1/55 Millia VF-1J just to make it "unique". It's perfect as is.

  4. Back in the 80's, my friend had a mainly plastic, but good quality Voltron that was frickin' huge. Each lion was big enough to hold a 3 3/4" GI joe figure. I don't know which version of Voltron that was, or who made it...but that one was definitely my favorite.

  5. Hey Jin Kun do,

Is that a 1/48 you transformed into a TV Max? Looks great either way. I thought I had guts customizing a $50.00 Unicron. Repainting a $125.00 toy is a bold undertaking. However, looks like you succeeded. I hope to see more Max TV customs posted soon. Keep them coming. :D

I believe Jin Kun Do was merely referencing a pic taken earlier this year at a toy/model expo in Japan.

  6. 1066831324654_Yamato_YF_19.jpg

I absolutely love my Yamato YF-19 despite all its flaws. I prefer this toy's battroid mode over its fighter mode, so I treat it as if it is non-transformable, much like my Hi-Metal L-Gaim and SOC EVA-01. This way, I can keep the paint from chipping, ensure the joints always stay tight, and not worry about the infamous "tab-B". I figure the new YF-19 sculpt will be the one that I will constantly transform and play with, but the ver.1 YF-19 will always be special to me as it was my first Yamato and I doubt there will be another YF-19 (or any other Macross toys) with as much diecast metal.

  7. This is what I envision a new line of Transformers to include:

    Bluestreak/Silverstreak/Prowl as a Nissan 350 Z

    Hound as a Humvee H2

    Jazz as a Porsche Boxster

    Sideswipe as an Enzo Ferrari

Sunstreaker as a Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT

Bumblebee as a VW New Beetle

Tracks as a Dodge Viper GTR-S

    Ironhide as an Escalade

I'd still like to see new characters using these cars:

    Mazada RX-8

    Mazda RX-7

    Ford Mustang 2005 Concept

    Toyota Supra

    Mitsubishi Eclipse

  8. Thanks for the comparison pic. I figured Smokecreen would have to be a fairly large size in order to incorporate all that extra detail. It's still hard to believe that the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime is still going to tower over him even at this size.

Well, my #7 Smokescreen is on his way via EMS...only a few more days days and I'll have my own.

  9. Just got it today. Looks beautiful, plays terribly.

Mine is the diecast version, so there's a high risk of chipping the gorgeous paint job while struggling to get the too-tight joints to budge. The shoulders/wheels are a b*tch to get out of the chest and harder still to get into position, mostly because of the protruding magnetic strut (used to connect to the steering rod). This is one toy that's definitely NOT meant for playing and much better suited to a life on a display shelf. Forget about staging TF battles with this one. By the time you get it from one mode to the other, the enemies would have been LONG GONE.

I still like the balance look of both modes. Maybe I'll spring for the plastic version so I can leave the diecast one in car mode...

How do can you tell which one is the plastic vs. diecast one?

  10. Macross Plus: Movie Edition, would be perfect if they don't mind subtitles, otherwise, the OVA would be acceptable. Also, just because someone may not know the background such as SDF Macross or Macross: DYRL, doesn't mean that they will not enjoy Macross Plus. Macross Plus has been called the "Top Gun of Japanese anime" for a reason and it can definitely stand on it's own, storywise.

Evangelion: Death & Rebirth and the End of Evangelion would be decent entries as well, to give viewers an overall experience of the acclaimed series.

Blood: The Last Vampire, short and violent, but cool. Same goes for Spriggan, although it's just a 'lil bit longer.

Princess Mononoke is a good pick, too.

You can't go wrong with classics such as: Akira, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell, etc.

Although Cowboy Bebop is one of my favorites, I don't suggest showing the Cowboy Bebop movie to viewers who aren't familiar with series because they will get lost and get bored very quickly...trust me, I know this from trying to show it to some of my friends and family.

    Just my $0.02

  11. Cool! I only wanted one Hikaru Super VF-1J, but wanted multiple TV FAST packs, this works out great for me!

    --EDIT--

Opps! Nevermind, I thought they were selling the TV FAST packs separately, not the VF-1J separately. <_<

  12. Yay, Darkwind's back!

Haven't heard from you in ages. Guess you've been away in some nasty places blowing stuff up

The FAST Packs will be a nice homecoming present for you.

    Graham

It's nice to be missed, and even better to be welcomed back into the fold.

And yes those fast packs will be a very nice gift when I get back to Japan. . .

Along with a few other things I left behind ;) . . .

Well this time I'm signing in from Brisbane, Aust.

And in November, I will be reporting from Hong Kong.

Hope to see you there Graham, may be we can do some shopping.

Or you can at least point me in the direction. :D

Welcome back Darkwind, make sure you register your Low-Vis #s. My PCS got pushed back to Summer of 2004, but hopefully I will get one of my three main overseas choices: Yokota, Kadena or Misawa. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
