I agree completely with you on FFII, David. It has always been my least favorite out of the entire series. Abombz, neither game is available for us to play, why oh why would anyone include them in a poll as to which is their favorite... there would be no one to vote on them.

Ever heard of something called importing? Ever notice not all members here are americans? And that some of them can speak and read japanese, meaning they could have played those games already.

Just because you can't play them now, doesn't mean other members haven't played them already. Then explain to me why FFT Advance isn't on the list either. Its a completly different game from FF Tactics, and it should have been there.

And for the record.... neither is FF3 but due to some miracle.... it made it into the poll.

Not really. That's how I got Metroid Fusion long before it was released. Unfortunately I haven't seen any of those kits (and I don't mean the e-reader like some may think) on the market anymore. Did Nintendo make some kind of injunction against them? Lan Kwei even took them off his site.

It's also how I've been playing Rockman Zero 2 while I wait for the US release. But, what I meant was that there are emulator programs out there for the GBA, too, and I'm not talking about the kind that let you play GBA games on the PC. I mean the kind that let you play NES and what not on the GBA.

I know. For a while I was determined to make my GBA a mini NES and SNES. Very tricky to set up the SNES games due to the lack on control buttons.

Nintendo sued Lik Sang.  Lik Sang stopped selling the kits for the time being, but filed a counter suit.  Their arguement is that the kits are legitimate development tools, very similar to the ones Nintendo uses themselves, and that the kits themselves are not illegal.  They argued that it's unfair to punish them because other people flash GBA roms to them, which is illegal.  Kind of like needles aren't illegal, just using them for illegal drugs, and when you have a problem with junkies, you don't sue the needle makers.

Anyway, that's the last I heard of it.  There are still places out there that sell them, though.  Since this forum really isn't the place to be discussing things like that, I'd say to just to a search for it on Google.

We'll see. The direction the comics are going in has me worried about how the series will turn out. Honestly thought while I am looking forward to the new series, really not as much as before, I'm really more interested in the what the new series by SK is going to be and seeing how Macross Zero is going to end. Is this from some sort of "alternate history," where Max had his vf-1a painted in his later 1j's paint scheme, or a careless coloring error that no one caught? Either way, I couldn't believe this went to print. I try and try not to be as tough on Robotech as some of you are around here (after all, it pointed me in the right direction those many years ago), but so far their recent efforts (toys and comics of the macross saga era anyway) have been quite careless and shoddy, to say the least.

I've discovered that after a while there's no point in pointing out what's gone wrong in the RT universe. No matter how the fans feel, HG will shaft them some way or another out of sheer carelessness. The guys at the top of HG really just don't care what they do or how the fans feel so long as they get $$$. After I came to terms with that fact I gave up entirely on Robotech and got over it. Glad I did tho. less of a headache and I can pay mroe attention to better series where at least some thought did go into it's continuity.

i understand why people dont like the idea and think it could be easily abused, but it would be so cool if there were someone to maintain the system so that one liners didnt get rewarded,  abombz, you should take a look at point blank forums, especially if you are into other anime besides macross.  you will see when you do that this can be a neat thing.

Why would they? It's not like they are getting paid to do it. SOme things are just not worth the hassle.

Come on, A7. I think the GBA is kind of a runaway hit being it's backwards compatible and Nintendo has pretty much owned the handheld market.

I was avoiding saying my mind in this thread but here goes:

I have been on a few message boards that have "member level" rankings and either one of two things always happens, people start getting uppity when they get titles like "great" and "master" in their name block and people tend to get even more standoffish about those things. No offense to anyone but post counting which generates a member rank results in only two things: spamming of the board so people can attain a "rank" and hand in hand with that the people "holding top rank" are not necessarily the most educated, influential or powerful... they are basically the people that won't shut up. Member rank, if something like that is used, should not only look at posts but look at how long the person has been on the board and allow the admins and mods to "demote" anyone that is just obviously posting to get a new "rank".

Ranking is dumb. This isn't the army, we are technically all equals here... from the highest posting spammer to the single digit midgets. I for one want no part of post count ranking.

On the other issue of this thread: member titles. We have gotten along fine without them for a month or so now, why do we need them back? Can't fit your personal ramblings in your sig? Tough. We don't need all these badges, markers, quotes, signs, pics and chevrons anyway... I'm not trying to be mean or combative but the previous incarnation of MW was one of two message boards I have been on in my entire internet life that had member titles turned on. We really don't need them.

What he said. There's a perfect example of how rank corrupts and that is Robotech.com. I remember all the little ego wars thatw ent on before they tweaked their rank systems so they site Admins didn't get "confused" witht he other commanders and became Captains. How some began to think the were better than the "Privates" because they achieved Corporal, Sergeant or higher. People for a brief time who spammed becaus ethey got points for every posts. Poeple who always ahd "Poll" update threads becauss they got 10 points for every poll and so on. That kind of elitist garbage and competition still goes on over there because of the ranks. I thought Macross World could do without all that. I thought Macross World could be better. Guess not. <_< Of course RT.com isn't the only example of this behavior but the rank system people seem to be leaning towards to is awfully identical to the one they have in use at RT.com. Fake military ranks. If one really wishes to be an officer, then join the arm forces of your country.

Just give me my fn custom title and I'll be happy. It kinda goes hand in hand with the avatar. Why bother having one and not the other when it's possible to have both?

My opinion on this movie just took a turn for the cynical. Take a look at this, just in from Dark Horizons:

That's right, kids. If you want ALL of the special features, you have to buy ALL of the DVD releases.

I was kind of expecting more than 2 DVD releases per volume actually. I was hoping for a dual package set that included everything for a late 2004-2005 release and was willing to wait. However, this quote of his does upset me! Reminds me of when Fat Pete (Peter Jackson) said he was thinking to do another DVD release for each LoTR film and include other extras, specials and deleted scenes not contained in the extended versions. This raping of fans' wallets via DVDs has gone too far! It's worse when the directors openly admit to it!

I have an original VHS copy of Macross Special with eps 1 and 2. And it has the fanracer ending, but the normal opening. I kinda want to see the original episode 1 version...

I was really shocked and upset the fanracer ending and Macross Special eye catch is NOT on the Animeigo DVD box set because it IS on the Robotech Perfect Collection #1 VHS issued by Streamline Pictures and Harmony Gold. It's the only reason I still have that tape. I thought I was only one who noticed this. Still, there's no alternate opening on the CHS release either.

I have swapped a few PM's with bankofkev (BankofKev - someone apparently stole his name) a few weeks ago so he is deffinitely here. I know that he currently isn't interested in posting here. Considering how things devolved last time I couldn't really blame him, but at the same time, though, he needs to learn how to better conduct himself on this board.

Then he does not have a case for whatever he's spewing at RT.com. He says stuff like he wants to know what we think about his thoughts on OUR posts over here! Why doesn't he just post his thoughts over here? Is it that difficult for him to behave himself? On top of that he's purposely calling my name out on RT.com full well knowing a I can't reply. He is the reason I was banned over there for something I didn't even say to him. So I don't see what he's trying to accomplish with that chicken post of his. Why should we move the playing field to his home field when his issues are with what we have said here? That's why I think this is just a way for him to start more trouble but to cover his butt in the process because we can all easily be weeded out at RT.com.

What happened last time was entirely his fault and own doing. He could take some serious pointers from wrylac who's on his side yet not cowering on another website. He can't claim he'll be booted just because of who he is. If anything happens it's because of what he says.

The only reason I haven't bothered updating my avatar is because there are no custom titles. It just wouldn't be the same without the caption at the bottom of it.

Now it's really in the hands of Shawn or Graham as they have the keys to this place. I know it's possible from other Invision boards I've been to.

BTW, when you're reading his eBay feedback, there are a lot of people who leave him a positive, but also write that they actually had a bad experience with him in the comment part.  He's one of those guys that doen't leave feedback when you pay him and waits to see what kind of feedback you leave him. Many, like me, don't leave a negative because he'll turn around and leave you one, even when you held up your end of the bargain (quick payment).

I really think it's unfair and crummy when a seller does that. Especially when the seller knows he or she deserves a negative or a neutral. What I do now is I let a seller know ahead of time that I will leave them a negative or a neutral if a problem is not handled or may not leave feedback at all. Only I never leave the feedback right away. If the seller does not handle a problem within a fixed time frame (90 days of the auction end) I leave the feedback. If the problem is still not handled then I report the seller.

ADV did a good job on the Mospeada DVD set. I sold mine on ebay awhile back. I don't like Mospeada as much as I used too.... I'm having the same problem with the SDF Macross TV series....

It's because of Anime Fiend, isn't it? Every time there's a wonderful moment it seems Anime Fiend finds some way of ruining it over all.

I tend to oversaturate myself with things, and Mospeada was one of them. I watched it like every day for months... I just burned out on it really fast. Usually I have neat toys to buy to make me give things more time but Toynami is just dragging their feet on the new Legioss toys so much my interest in Mospeada peaked and seemingly went away overnight.

I'm bad like that...
