  1. You know what the problem is? They should have created 3 different intros, instead of 1 single intro. One for each part of the show. it would've been easy to manage crediting everyone that worked either in the original shows or on putting RT together.

    EDIT: spelling

That and simply using smaller fonts in the closing credits... There is no excuse for not giving credit where it is due. I have yet to see character or mecha designs credited in even the comic books unless I've missed them.

  2. Fantastic! As a long time Nausicaa fan, I'm thrilled this DVD is getting good treatment here in NA. I've got my japanese DVD on pre-order and I'll definitely pick up the NA release as well.

Do you really think it's worth having both sets? I have a pre-order of the Japanese set (Limited Edition). I don't think I'll be getting the Disney set.

  3. Are some of you saying you actually had no idea about the Perfect Collection tapes? They were all over the place when they were released. They were at every anime store I stepped foot in. Advertised in at least Protoculture Addicts and even on the back of Robotech Pefect CD soundtrack. Unbelievable.

Any of you who ahve the Robotech soundtrack set open it up and look at the inner back page. You'll see a VHS set ad with Misa/Lisa and Hikaru/Rick from episode 27 in black and white.

Mind you, I think the original year of release for the CD was 1996 or as early as 95. Streamline distributed the Perfect Collection VHS sets. (May have distributed the first set of the CDs too)

  4. Huh? 1stBRD, are you saying if you had a domestic release of Southern Cross you'd stop liking Robotech and switch to just the SC release (sans RT)? That's what it sounds like. That your only interest in RT is the fact it SC is currently only available as a part of it.

  5. what short comings? shes an attactive lady. not a knockout, but very nice looking.

That's exactly what I mean. A couple were treating her like she's hideous when she's not. So she's not drop dead gorgeous like some other actresses. It doesn't make her ugly and needs to star on that ABC plastic surgery show.

  6. hahaha... i like how he calls everyone shallow... so, i guess you know personally right? everyone has different tastes..

I'm looking forward to the 3rd matrix, but I don't have the same over-hyped feeling as i did for reloaded.

Haha, I like how you are complete farking uninformed jackass. So I guess you personally know everyone's gender, right? Who the hell are you calling a "He"?

  7. True, but guns are guns. I'm one of those gun owners who had the hard lessons about showing guns learned at an early age... some people just don't react well to pictures or even the mention of firearms.

You think that's bad? Imagine being a female who loves guns. I find it doens't take long to get labeled "butch" or worse just for sharing. Offline it tends to scare men away. Alas, I did eventually give my dad my collection for safe keeping when I decided to rid my license for firearms. The temptation to hunt some morons down and shoot them was too great. Far difficult to think "harming" someone with a more personal weapons such as katanas.

  8. I've always believed that Ivana Gunther was a human woman possessed by the male protodevlin, Gepelnitch.  I'm not surprised by Ivana's lack of breasts in the finale, didn't Gepelnitch also remove her legs and add in some sort of tentacle extensions?  So what's to stop Gepelnitch from removing his hosts' breasts?  ;)

That's what I thought. He turned her into some kind of hermaphrodite hybrid by mixing her with his body.... Yuck! It was terrible.

Imagine if one of you guys were possessed by a female entity and she took away your Pink Pecker Squadrons? Absolutely terrible.

  9. Exo, where's the Mighty Michelle Yeoh in your list?

For some reason I hold Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi on some different level. I can't figure it out...

That's probably because they can run circles around all the other women on and OFF the camera. :p

The rest of the other girls were more like comic book figures.  While the action in CTHD was unrealistic, it was more than a comic book type movie.  I know people would disagree...
Actually, I agree. I think that's why Thelma and Louise was the only movie where the women kinda struck me as "real" action heroes because they were not over the top like super heroes.
  10. Hello... Harry Potter came AFTER Macross 7 and well after the original Macross.  <_<  It's just a coincedence that the actress who plays Hermione Granger's name is really Emma. If anything this would suggest JK Rowling is a Macross fan.  :p

Hmmm... actually, the character in question is the bridge bunny to be featured in the upcoming Macross PS2 game. If I'm not mistaken, the Harry Porter books are out already, so anything is possible. :p

Oh, sorry I didn't specify. I wa stalking about the Basara references. I think whoever is designing the game is a Harry Potter fan. It would be cool if Rowling was a Macross fan.
