  1. From what I understand (haven't watched Eva in over 5 years) Second impact was when/the result of Adam reverting into an embryo despite that it says the Angels were all from Lilith. When that happened the other "attacking" angels (including Kowaru) were all created from Adam and seperated into individual angels from him during 2nd Impact. Don't know if this counts for each Angel but it seemed to in Kowaru's case. The Angels were trying to return to Adam believing he was in Terminal Dogma and thus attacked NERV HQ. Evidence to support this is Kowaru's age of 14 (he was born the year of 2nd Impact) and was found in the sea as his last name Nagisa translated suggests. A process that may not have been very different from the first Impact when humans (Lilim is a term that can describe the ANgels too, no?) were created from Lilith. How exactly 2nd Impact was triggered or what made Adam seperate is a mystery. Most likely the work of the team Misato's father was a part of. My guess is they poked Adam with the Lance of Longinus discovering the pwer it had over Angels. At least that's what I got from it. Haven't brushed up on Eva in years.
  2. That's not Mega Man music. It's one of the 3 themes from Rad Racer for the NES. (Ya know old Squaresoft racing game you could play in 3D)
  3. No. Why would they do that when they can bitch about you guys behind your backs on other boards? All of this is pointless tho.
  4. Anyone want to purchase a like new SC2 for PS2? PM me if you are interested. I need to reduce my playing hours of this game so I'm keeping only the GC copy.
  5. Yes, and that's the way it should be. Before yesterday I would never have even dreamed of posting a Rainbow Brite topics or any of it's nature because in reality I don't care for those shows like I did 16 or so years ago. If some people want to discuss them then they should be free to since it is within the MW guideline. I efuse to accept "It's Rainbow Brite" as n answer when far more lamer topics have been permitted. I'd like to know so that I know in advance not to post a "She-Ra" topic in the future.... <_<
  6. That's exactly my point. Non-anime but animated topics pop up all the time. However, Roy's answer to why he locked was "It's Rainbow Brite". That's not an answer. When I proceeded to speculate on what his problem with "Rainbow Brite" he insulted me with the following: "Your nuts you know that? Don't brother answering we both know the answer. I regret ever standing up for the biggest idiot that I've ever seen." So I am now an idiot and nuts because I'm not buying his reason to kill a topic? Just because he's a moderator is now reason for me to shut up and bend over when the topic is legitimate by MW standards. The thread was closed because of his own personal taste and that is no excuse to kill a thread. Yes, we are all human and have our preferences (I can't stand Milla Jovovich and hurl at any topics surrounding her) but I can tolerate the stuff I dislike. Just because "Roy Focker" is a mod does not mean he's off the hook. EDIT: Roy, I double dare you to lock this thread and even ban me for "speaking my mind" and being "nuts" about the locking of the Rainbow Brite topic. If you are what I am beginning to believe you are (a bitch boy hiding behind your modhip since you like throwing insults) you will most definately lock this or hide behind, MilkmanX and Max Jenius.
  7. MacrossWorld is a place where Macross and anime fans in general can commune to chat about their favorite anime and related hobbies. This extends to toys, models, books, games and countless otehr merchandise. However, MW does offer more to the average anime fan. One can discuss a variety of animated shows and science fiction series.... but there's a catch. One cannot discuss shows not only of cutesey nature but also garnered more towards girls. Unless this series/show features attractive girls that can be idolized, adorned. or simply rated on a "who's hotter" scale, our Moderator Roy Focker actually discourages discussions on such shows. Somehow these shows are not of high enough caliber for Macross World. At least by Roy Focker's attitude and his joking aside. An example of this is the Rainbow Brite thread. A silly cutesy show aimed at little girls back in the 80s featuring color schemed chiildren. Unlike the Sailor Senshi of Sailor Moon the children here are all somewhat super deformed in nature and cute enough to make one puke. Yet, despite that this show had some fans and still does. Enough to warrant an ill fated short discussion int he anime and science fiction board. Why is such a topic locked? Why is it discouraged? Did it embarrass Roy? Afterall, MW is primarily a boy's club and topics on anything regarding a girls' show tend to be mostly about the attractive female stars. So my question is what is and isn't allowed on MW? What merits a topic to stay open? Will the Care Bears (as nauseating as they were) also be close dint he future? Or even shows like Hamtaro or anything "cutesey"? Shouldn't the posters at MW have a right to discuss these shows in a thread of they wish? Just asking after having a short PM convo with Roy and he could not supply a reasonable answer. I often wonder why the female populous on MW gets smaller and smaller with each passing year. Maybe because MW really wants to eb an all Boy's club by systematically but subtlely weeding out the topics that in reality only little girls would enjoy? If Raibow Brite isn't allowed then what else isn't? Serious replies only as I'd like a straight answer on why I can put up with reading how many people would love to see Milla Jovovich nekkid but a single mod cannot tolerate one small thread on an insignifcant cartoon. Thank you. Jemstone, Rainbow Brite fangirl since 1983.
  8. I don't think you really want to know the answer to that.
  9. A7, the original series wasn't great but "alright' considering it was the standard cheesey robots and super heroes fare of the 70s. Despite that the original series more insteresting and more dynamic than this snooze fest. Don't know what the folks at Tatsunoko were thinking when they created this OAV. What worked back in the day looks stupid now (he's costume). And "Luna" or whatever her name is seems to have the same facial expression throughout the entire film. My sister wanted this DVD and now knowing it's dubb only I don't have to worry about ehr wanting it anymore. Thanks.
  10. hey jem glad you could respond your comments are always appreciated! Just glad to be of service in the land of sex starved otaku.
  11. Thanks for the summary but I think you need some sex. <_<
  12. I don't dislike him nor do i care for him. BTW you do know what "Tin-tin" (pronounced differently) means in French, right? PM me if you don't. Those who don't like him would agree the name "Tin-Tin" suits him. JRock, I totally forgot about The Rundown.
  13. "Yahoo Serious Convention". Summed it up nicely in the Simpsons. It's too bad Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman's popularity started a mini revival that prompted that stupid Crocodile Dundee in Los Angelos to be made. Poor Paul Hogan.
  14. There's no need to inform them about Japan, they just need to know that they know nothing about Japan. That doesn't exactly worry me, as much as seeing a bunch of idiots who just got into anime, and who bitch and moan about how animes should be targeted towards them and not the average japanese viewer. I prefer not to even get into that. I have to say I've come to enjoy walking into comci book shops or mainstream shops like Newbury Comics and just listening to the stuff some of them say. Here's a short convo I overheard at the Newbury Comics by Gov't Center ove rthe X-mas break. "Kid A: I should get the Ronin Warriors on DVD. Pretty cheap for a series. Kid B: I don't think I'll like that show. It looks really old. Kid A: It's actually alright I guess if you life samurai team fighting and crap. Kid B: Nah, I'll stick to the newer stuff life Gundam. It's too bad that didn't last for too long. Amuro's a bitch boy tho. " I first thought he meant GundamW when he said Gundam because Ronin Warriors/Samurai Troopers is the older show but I nearly broke out laughing when he said Amuro. I've heard worse but that was the most recent. Otherwise it's cute stuff like when a little kid gets confused why some characters like Sailor Moon are supposed to be Japanese but look white. I think that's so adorable.
  15. I used to like him up untill he did Surf Ninjas and Turtles 2. I vote for Chuck Norris since I kinda grew up on his Mission In Action films. Had forgotten he was one of my childhood heroes next to Lee Van Cleef and Franco Nero. I absolutely despise Seagal.
  16. Barbarella, that is what I named the door knob on my appartment. Eh... I didn't list it because I've never really thought of it as "bad". It was just so 1960s and no more cheesier than any film of that day. Plus Jane Fonda makes up for alot of it I suppose.
  17. That's the top Sci-fi film on my "bore" list. I rememberw hen I first saw it back in 88. I hated it. Now I just use it to help me sleep when I can't sleep. You guys listed alot of good "bad films" so I won't repeat any: Universal Solider (I dunno why but I enjoy it's stupidity) Demolition Man Masters Of The Universe (Dolph Lungdren (sp?) as He-Man ) Independence Day (it really does suck but for some reaosn I watch it ever time it plays) Does C.H.O.M.P.S. count as sci-fi?
  18. Keith doesn't seem to have his anymore. Really? That's too bad. His should have said "I hated hated HATED Macross 7".
  19. There's no need to inform them about Japan, they just need to know that they know nothing about Japan. Good point.
  20. That's not what I worry about it. What I worry about is the seemingly endless stream of idiots who watch a few anime titles and immediately think they are an expert on Japanese culture, customs and life style. Both traditonal and nontradictional. In fact there were quite a few idiots here a few months back on the TV series forums who declared themselves experts on how the Japanese think of sex and rape because of the hentai titles the watch. That's the kind of thing that bother me. The ones who really are just part of a fad but think they know and entire nation's culture and history after watching some extremist videos. Now I don't wnat anime to go back into obscurity as that would open the doors for companies like Disney, ADV, and HG to revert to the old days of buthering someone's artwork and selling ti a stheir own. I just wish there was a way to keep the Cartoon Network generation of anime fans "informed" about Japan itself. Not just the animation that comes from there.
  21. Uhh... Keith.... Are you looking at what it says beneath your member name?
  22. I disagree. It was certainly not anticlimatic. If anything, it was the true climax of the story. It had been foreshadowed long before. It also did a great job of bringing the horror of war home to the characters; quite literally. All along they view the Shire as this untouchable place of peace that they're returning to, but then it's stripped away and they're forced to accept that no where is truly safe from evil. Oops, sorry I meant the homecoming in the movie was anti climactic and that I didn't notice the hobbits getting strange stares (except for that one old guy). I still didn't like the scouring of the Shire in the book tho and in both version I thought the Shirefolk were too oblivious. Moreso in the film.
  23. You mean Serpentor. Corba Commander couldn't rape a calf!
