  1. It sounds like as long as the jieitai (Japanese Self-Defense Forces "SDF") are currently deployed to Iraq, he will have his hands full with the commissioned Self-Defense Force related Konami products to be featured in Model Graphix, and thus will have no time to make anything relating to Macross.

  3. Standard? My child, Yamato has no standard scale.
  4. Well, the greatest way to tell Yamato that you don't like their product is with your wallet. Not buying it sends a stronger message than any whine or rant on an internet forum ever can. Let Yamato pay the price for their lack of vision. ...did that just come out of my mouth? I don't want Yamato to pay a price for making macross zero toys. if they do, they won't make better ones, they won't make any.... there's a reason why the bigger better VF-0 hasn't been officially announced. If we don't buy this crap now, we won't get the good stuff EVER Ditto. If the 1/60 had never been produced and sold well we might have never seen the 1/48s too , though this time around Yamato KNOWS there´s a collector´s market out there and they can sell high quality items to that market. but regardless of this they´ve already invested in the 1/100 M0 toys so if those don´t sell well they´ll definetively loose money and won´t have any resources from which to invest on a perfect VF-0 toy. I think some people still think Yamato is made up of a bunch of guys working out of their basement hand-tooling molds. More than once I've heard the "If you don't buy X, then Yamato won't have enough money to make Y", arguement. I have a feeling that Yamato already has plans to make a larger more detailed version whether the 1:100 sells well or not. You're just falling for their marketting schemes. This whole news drought thing is probably less of an issue of "giving ideas to competing companies" but rather an issue of not telling the consumer that better crap will be coming out later so that we'll buy all the little 1:100's now, then be "forced" to buy all the 1:XX whatevers later on as well because our rampant fanboyism starts getting in the way of common sense.

  7. I can only assume this has to do with the 1:100, so I figure with a price at around 40 bucks, I'd buy 1 just to see for myself how good it is. If it's good, I'll buy more. If it sucks, then I save my money. It's good to be just a Macross toy freak and not a Toy freak in general.
  8. http://www5.plala.or.jp/SQR/ff11/monster-b...ml#40BalgasDais Star Orb - BCNM Even dying is loads of fun. It's such a rush, and if you win the payout can be huge I'm running out of Beastman Seals!
  9. Hah, well I took liberties. But I figure, if they were speaking english, they'd say the exact same thing. Anyway, here: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?YMTX-04 It's a manga made into anime made into toy.
  10. I read them when I'm bored. I'll translate a few fun ones for you, especially concerning the 1:100. #219 - Seems like Yamato's making the VF-0 @ 1:100 around 4000 yen. Swapping parts is pretty lame. Not even Banpresto's had to do that. #226 - (regarding q-rau) 12800 yen!? Screw that. #232 - Ideon rocks! VF-0 is the suck! Consider yourself warned! #276 - How many stands will you people be buying? #277 - Lots. #283 - Bullshit! #284 - Bullshit! #288 - I just saw the announcement for the 1:100 simple transformation in a magazine. I know they're trying to time it with the release of the OVA series.... but if Yamato has so much time on their hands WHY CAN'T THEY GIVE US THE YF19FP!? #289 - Simple Transformation?? What's that mean? It can transform perfectly, but can't move? #290 - It'll be like the K&M. You have to switch parts around. #291 - 1:100? I'd rather have a Takatoku. #292 - I'd buy tons.... of the stand I mean. #298 - Sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks x 50 - Yamato sucks. #359 - 361 is funny, but not suitable for translation for younger readers #364 - Have they announced the 1/48 Koenig Monster yet? Kthx. #365 - Hello everyone, I'm Min Rinmei! #366 - MIIIINNMEEEEIII!!!!!! (starts goin off topic here) #379 - Yamato's new newsletter was full of crap again. Nothing about the stand. (Yesterday's newletter. No mention of anything except for Yamato's new Ikkitousen toy.)
  11. 1:60 as a scale is nice. Too bad the quality of Yamato's 1:60 line is whack.
  12. What are the URL's for those boards? Don't bother with BigWest forum, it's mostly dead. 2ch is the place you want to check, but it'll do you no good unless you can read Japanese. 2ch Yamato Macross Toy Thread Strange rules however with the 2ch forums. After 1000 posts, all threads must be recreated, so the link will not last forever.
  13. Heehee, I did a bunch of BCNM40's in giddeus this weekend. Got pwned 3 times in a row (DAMN YOU SLEEP SPELL), but I had the most fun I've ever had in that game for awhile now. Can't wait to get pwned some more next weekend! Btw, high chocobo cost = high rental amounts. The more people running about on chickens, the more it will cost. *edit--Ahh, one more thing. If youre going to try sleep the dragon, make sure your blm casts elemental seal before casting sleep. With it, you're almost guaranteed to sleep him. Without it, you're just wasting MP. **editx2--My handle in FFXI is Imode. You can add me to friendlist if you want, and I can answer any questions you might have while playing. (Friendlist works across servers but only through mail). I'm basically on from late afternoon till midnight, H(awaii)ST.
  14. Meh, I don't mind the removable parts thing. Yamato already has a nice solution for a stable nose cone piece thanks to the problems of the 1/48. I can only hope they devise a better leg removal solution as I didn't care for the way the 1/60 did it. With no Diecast, the toy should be much lighter, and they should be able to have snap-on solutions rather than the 1/60's metal tab/hole connection where you had to take off the entire leg just to get it out of fighter mode.
  15. Not to mention that everytime you wanted to change gears, you'd have to have the tires rotated.
  16. YOU SICK BASTARD!!!! Heaheh They don't say specifically. All it says is that it can transform into all 3 modes by swapping out parts (unless my Japanese is getting bad...). This is in contrast to earlier reported news of a perfect transformation 1/60 VF-0 from about a year ago. (http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/news/_news_n052.htm) Keep your fingers crossed!
  17. Possibly. The Macross Zero license is a possible goldmine with so many different mecha, so there's no real logical reason to make a 1:100 toy when Yamato knows they can charge $120 for a high quality toy. They use the term sashikae transformation that imples that parts will be exchanged/removed and placed back into form to transform to various configurations akin to the 1:60's. In any case, you can make a fleet with these little guys here: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/_.../_toys_arii.htm
  18. Rank 2 mission? Is this embassy one where you have to kill the dragon at the end? This requires no high level help, just a full party of 6. Full party well rounded @ 25 = VERY EASY fight. Well rounded party of five = Easy. You can probably take it on with 4 too with food and various enhacing items (pies and orange juice for mages, seafood for the tank, meat for the physical offense and maybe potions for everyone.). You can ask a level 70 person, but that won't really do any good as he'll end up leveling down to 25 anyway. Only thing you really need is a black mage. Enter the battlefield. Sleep the dragon, mighty strike the eyeball, eyeball dead. Then everyone else use 2 hour on dragon until its done. I don't know how the Bastok quest goes as my character is Sandorian, but if you're killing the windurst dragon in giddeus, the dragon casts a really nasty powerful curse. It only casts on one person, so be sure to watch out for it. It dropped my monk's max HP count from 500 to around 95 and it lasted for a very long time. If you have any stun skills (H2H shoulder tackle, Paladin Shield Bash, Drk weapon bash, BLM stun spell) you should be able to stop him from casting it.
  19. Nousjadeul Ger-Kai Details on armament and stuff can be found @ mahq.net
  20. I understand you all completely. That's why I try as hard as possible to find Japanese parties or American parties who are rank 4+. When I had to level up my subjob and started partying with people who were subjob-less, I just had to cringe. Was I that noobish at level 17? I don't think so, and this is the first MMORPG I have ever played. Then there are those who ask for help every 5 seconds for really simple stuff, and when I tell them to look things up on the internet they give me the "I'm too lazy, F--- you", line. I have joined 4 linkshells so far, and they all ruined by 1-2 people who act just like that. Sometimes I think the Japanese are a little to obsessed with "manner" but in cases like this, I really appreciate the fact that they are. Vostok, as for the no whm rule, there are exceptions. As usual with the shortage of white mages in the game, I took a level 25 or so group to Qufim which consisted of a warrior, a monk (me), a red mage and three black mages. We had our doubts, especially the rdm who after being told that he was the main healer, replied, "Dude, if this sux, I'm gonna bail." Instead, it turned out to be the fastest and easiest killing of crabs that I have ever done.
  21. It says they are 1/60 scale. So that would be a bad price. Judging by the pictures tho, pretty sure they meant Yamato 1/48.
  22. Shouldn't be too expensive. At 4 centimeters smaller than the VF-11FP, there's no reason it would be anywhere even near 7800yen. I was reading some Japanese forum where they said the price would probably be about a more reasonable 4000 yen. And yeah, I know I was being harsh. I really should have explained that while 1:100 != crap, having Macross toys in all different sizes leaves me moderately perturbed.
  23. Technically, I wasn't whining either. Aegis wanted to know why we weren't talking about the zero, so I had to answer truthfully with the answer I believed truly represented the sentiment of all reading the thread. And dang, that's a nice stand...
  24. Use the quote button above ^^^^. Has to be done manually.
  25. Yeah, I don't really mind. I'm a firm believer of the "If you don't like it, don't buy it" policy. My credit card needed a break, and this is the perfect chance for it to take one. I too will be holding out for a more high quality version however. In the meantime, I'll admire the stand
