  1. Essentially, yes. The leading theory/rumor (was it confirmed that Kawamori said this?) is that due to the unpopularity of nuclear weapons in Japan he feared that using it in the series would be a bad thing and thus came up with the more creative name, "reactive weaponry."

    Larger Scale VF-0

What happens when you run out of shelfspace and can't fit another 1/48? You buy another shelf of course! Common sense! 1/48, kthx bye.
  3. Heheh 3 launchers with 6 missiles each = 18, not 16
  4. What enemies? I used to dislike reading Graham's "I know something you don't know" but I NEVER considered him an enemy... how does that work? I defy you to find one of my posts that is intended to insult another Macrossworlder... I have only quoted other's posts, or find an excessive number of posts that are NOT in response to another post directed exclusively at me, From now on I will PM, but this post is for everyone who cares: I stated an opinion. I defended my opinion against numerous attacks. I learned my lesson. I'll go back to lurking and being generally ignored... sorry to have wasted a couple of minutes of your day. If the "I know but I can't tell you" posts piss you off and make you feel inferior, then I think it's best if you stay away from the Toys section altogether because that's how it's always going to be.
  5. Hahaha, you saw them in the other thread too, eh
  6. Wow, sorry to go offtopic by topic about Macross in the Other Sci Fi section, but these are so damn cool looking--> http://www.j-hobby.com/kms_jpn/shop/series...ry=4&dept_id=78
  7. What do you mean, "or"? Isn't MW a porn site? Maybe if Graham had his way...
  8. Actually, they already did, it's called the Super VF-1J Max Type. The point was, the VF-0 transformation is "very" simliar to the VF-1 transformation and the VF-1 transformation has been done successfully several times, by several companies, w/swingbars, w/o swingbars, w/removable parts, w/o them..... in 1/100, 1/72, 1/60, 1/55, 1/48.....etc. The 19 on the otherhand has never had a toy that was as well done as the VF-1 has been. The Yamato YF/VF-19 has an extremely thick profile. The legs don't tuck in as much as they should. Bandai 1/65 VF-19s have a nice, slender profile, but there are huge gaps in the back of the legs in order to get it to tuck up so tight. Given these two previous attempts at the 19, not only do the sculpts have to be scrapped, but to a degree, the transformation has to be taken from a new approach too. So yeah, the VF-0D doesn't really look anything like the VF-1s, but if you take away the big wings, is it really THAT different. *clapclap* It's really moot anyway, as there has been no announcement of VF-0D... yet.
  9. I think I'm going to cry. I will never get tired of seeing customs this nice, even if they're all Enigmas.
  10. Links don't appear very often, and when they do, it's usually links to here or porn sites.
  11. How "itty-bitty" is this thing?
  12. Need something translated, give me a link.
  13. Why would Yamato want to expend their resources on an old OVA that's over a decade in its tooth when they can cash in on Macross 0, which is "in" and "now", immediately? Maybe they just ran into severe engineering problems and had to start from scratch more than a few times. Because no matter how "in" and "now" macross zero is, the VF-0, physically, is a re-tooled VF-1. By comparison, the YF-19 is something new and fresh and dare I say it, far sexier than a VF-0.
  14. Well, to quote another post there, "they finally made a toy on par (I'm assuming he's talking about the 1:48) with the quality of the old takatokus and now they go and do this...?"
  15. Moo, there's already a thread for this... ---> here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=26&t=4938&st=0
  16. But this could just as well blow up in their faces as consumers both abroad and domestic are apparently unhappy over the change to 1:100. There are examples from Japanese forums where they equate this new line to being like a Banpresto VF-0, except this will cost 2x as much. If they really wanted to "test the waters" without much financial risk, you'd think they'd go to a scale that has already proven its worth, IE. 1:60. A new fourth scale is just as big a risk as trying to put one out in 1:48.
  17. That's actually quite nice. Looks to be very poseable as well. But $80? You can't be serious.
  18. Whee, that's nice~ I have my own set of these decals but I'm so scared to use em. I wish i had your talents.
  19. She speaks from experience unfortunately Vostok 7 It's a game!!! A gamee!!!!! You would be surprised. I already am.... Battalia Downs is not so bad. It's crawling with nasties (as are all the other areas) but the terrain is wide open and allows ample time to see an enemy before he's right upon you. Sauromugue is also like that, except the baddies there are REALLY nasty, and there are roadblocks and the terrain dictates where you have to walk a lot of the time. Rolanberry is a straight path, so if ther'es something blocking the road, all you can do is wait.
  20. I find it odd how Yamato has to make a small version of something before they see if they can justify selling a larger version. You'd figure by now that the sales of the 1/48 has already shown Yamato that what people want are "bigger" and "more detail". There must be something truly diabolical happening if the execs look at their figures and say, "what we need is something smaller, that breaks up into 4 pieces then you have to put it back together."
  21. She speaks from experience unfortunately Vostok 7 It's a game!!! A gamee!!!!!
  22. Whoa whoa, you two taking the whole roleplaying thing too far!
  23. Yikes. I still haven't received my pre-order from VE after kev ran out of the first shipment. This was supposed to be a birthday/christmas present for someone too.
