  1. Hey, since we're all feeling generous and informative, what does PVC stand for? Chemical name?
  2. Does this mean my pre-order will be shipping soon?

    Larger Scale VF-0

Consolidate space for one toy!? My god man, are you insane?! You must have 20, or none at all. That is the way of Macross.

    Larger Scale VF-0

And the soon to be released expansion packs: I want everything in 1/60 damnit !!! and the I want everything in 1/72 damnit !!! Haven't we been here before? <_<
  5. I suppose the real shame is that Yamato isn't allowed to sell Macross state-side. The domestic escaflowne version is 2/3 the price of the Japanese release. Just imagine if the same held true for domestic versions of all their Macross toys.
  6. That was like $30 in 1983 money though. I think he was talking more about the size rather than the price.
  7. Nice. Although I'm not quite sure if all 1/48 people are affluent enough to buy "tons of everything else in 1/48". Let us 1/60 and 1/48 people stop arguing and respect each other. Both of us are "Die hards". No one can tell me otherwise... I spent 1000's of dollars on this stuff. I just wish yamato was more consistent with their scales. Eliminating the 1/60 scale is almost a slap in the face for us 1/60 collectors. Yamato, Stop bunny hopping from scale to scale. That was in reference to Chan and some of the other crazy people we have here
  8. Okay, to clear this up. In a perfect world, we'd have 2 scales. Yamato would either make everything 1/60 and 1/48. 1/48's would be for the die-hard "we want it big and beautiful. look at that fat thang!" collectors. 1/60's would be for the casual and budget/space concerned die hards. This is probably a good financial venture for them as well because people that bought tons of the 1/48 VF-1's will probably still buy tons of everything else in 1/48. All the 1/60 people will also rejoice that their scale is also "not dead" as was previously believed. In short, everyone gains from having 2 scales. You take a look at the poll on the other page, and it's pretty much 50/50. Everyone will be happy, with the exception of a dozen or so 1/72 people. If you think Yamato would be wasting money by making a 1/48, you're better of bitching and moaning about why they're making helmets and monsters. The fact is, both scales have their markets, and you can't deny either one.
  9. IMHO-- even if it's line-art accurate, swing-bars = fugly.
  10. Because as many have pointed out, making large scale M0 and M+ valkyries are a big waste of money. <_<

    Larger Scale VF-0

Heh, why not? All that's missing from the 1/48 line is the CF but it was replaced with an equally cool Low Viz and surpassed soon after by the Hikaru 1S. So far, the the two lines have mirrored each other almost exactly, especially with the release of the three super J's. I suppose the next few months following Max and Millia will be make or break for the 1/48 line. If they decide to continue, I'd guess it would be a 1D, or dare I say it, a Full Armor set. If those are released, there's a good chance we'll also see a VT and VE. I won't say it's definite as they got rid of the guy that did the original sculpting for the 1/48 and the VE and VT will require some significant modifications. However, if Yamato goes all the way with VF-1 line for 1/48, then there's still hope they have a 1/48 VF-0 waiting in the wings as well.
  12. Yeh, tv series was not my bag. OVA was so much better however. It was dark and serious full of historical references, and best of all, the childish art style changed to match the seriousness of the story. Second OVA was also very good. It was called Revenge of the Samurai or something equally retarded on the level of Samurai X. It deals half with the events of the first OVA and parts of the series, so for those who never watched either, you may be a bit lost. Otherwise, it's on par with the original OVA.
  13. Essentially, yes. The leading theory/rumor (was it confirmed that Kawamori said this?) is that due to the unpopularity of nuclear weapons in Japan he feared that using it in the series would be a bad thing and thus came up with the more creative name, "reactive weaponry."

What happens when you run out of shelfspace and can't fit another 1/48? You buy another shelf of course! Common sense! 1/48, kthx bye.
  15. Heheh 3 launchers with 6 missiles each = 18, not 16
  16. What enemies? I used to dislike reading Graham's "I know something you don't know" but I NEVER considered him an enemy... how does that work? I defy you to find one of my posts that is intended to insult another Macrossworlder... I have only quoted other's posts, or find an excessive number of posts that are NOT in response to another post directed exclusively at me, From now on I will PM, but this post is for everyone who cares: I stated an opinion. I defended my opinion against numerous attacks. I learned my lesson. I'll go back to lurking and being generally ignored... sorry to have wasted a couple of minutes of your day. If the "I know but I can't tell you" posts piss you off and make you feel inferior, then I think it's best if you stay away from the Toys section altogether because that's how it's always going to be.
  17. Hahaha, you saw them in the other thread too, eh
  18. Wow, sorry to go offtopic by topic about Macross in the Other Sci Fi section, but these are so damn cool looking--> http://www.j-hobby.com/kms_jpn/shop/series...ry=4&dept_id=78
  19. What do you mean, "or"? Isn't MW a porn site? Maybe if Graham had his way...
  20. Actually, they already did, it's called the Super VF-1J Max Type. The point was, the VF-0 transformation is "very" simliar to the VF-1 transformation and the VF-1 transformation has been done successfully several times, by several companies, w/swingbars, w/o swingbars, w/removable parts, w/o them..... in 1/100, 1/72, 1/60, 1/55, 1/48.....etc. The 19 on the otherhand has never had a toy that was as well done as the VF-1 has been. The Yamato YF/VF-19 has an extremely thick profile. The legs don't tuck in as much as they should. Bandai 1/65 VF-19s have a nice, slender profile, but there are huge gaps in the back of the legs in order to get it to tuck up so tight. Given these two previous attempts at the 19, not only do the sculpts have to be scrapped, but to a degree, the transformation has to be taken from a new approach too. So yeah, the VF-0D doesn't really look anything like the VF-1s, but if you take away the big wings, is it really THAT different. *clapclap* It's really moot anyway, as there has been no announcement of VF-0D... yet.
  21. I think I'm going to cry. I will never get tired of seeing customs this nice, even if they're all Enigmas.
  22. Links don't appear very often, and when they do, it's usually links to here or porn sites.
