  1. Most Stormtroopers/TIE Pilots are clones. Cannon fodder. The elites, commanders, TIE Aces (Such as Baron Fel) are all people who had joined the Imperial Navy or were forced to. It was in the TIE Games as well: "The Stelle Chronicles" and other places. Most of them joined of free will and prospered or they were force fed Imperial Doctrine until it was nothing but a fanatical thought in their heads. I'm not going to get into the canon debate because I love it all and think people who only go by the indecisive/inconclusive information in the movies are in a word....tools. It was stated in a book that Stormtroopers were clones by a ST commander....that only he and a few others weren't clones because (being that the empire was running on old stock) they tested higher and were better and all that junk. There were also some clones that were in a Zahn book that helped Luke and Mara and explained they were copies of Fel and hidden for when the Empire needed them. As for the height differences in the OT... It has been stated by Lucas: (and I am paraphrasing) "They weren't the same heights simply because in 1976 I didn't have the time to look for 3 dozen people who were all the same build/height/weight etc." Not going to argue here and we should all get back to posting info on EP. III. =) - Chewster
  2. The ships that aren't the SD looking things are Dreadnaughts. - Chewster
  3. Biel in anything Marvel = No. Come on. She doesn't fit any of the roles you guys have come up with. She's not all that. As for Venom, don't count it out. They aren't going to pick up some Stuper-Villians like The Shocker or (laf) Kraven forthe 3rd movie, and if they do, it'll be as bad as Potter 3: The Return of a Hack Director with all the Wrong Visions. If you've seen 2 already, then you already know what's on it's way. Biel....Kraven....feh.
  4. Apparently Pitch Black was to be the first "Chronicles of Riddick" franchise. The problem was when they made it, they didn't have the budget to make anything else so having 1 chronicle didn't make a whole lot of sense them. The movie has been re-released on dvd as "The Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black" and there is more on the way than just the animation and the game in the near future. I personally hope it all does very well. This info is from a buddy of mine who's a manager at Suncoast. He's never given me bad info on stuff like this, so I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  5. I remember someone saying that (and it worked when I had a yammie) if you forced a portion of the legs out (don't quote me, and if you're watching Mr. Guy Who Posted, tell them) under the chest piece?? that the legs would look great, be a lot more stable and the pegs wouldn't be a problem.
  6. All I can think of is this: Remember way back when they were displaying the first MPC VF-1s at some toy show? They were all horrible looking and transformed wrong. So, unless this thing is a total and utter piece of crap (shut up you guys =P) it's just some ass clown working over at Toynami who doesn't know how to work with thier own product.
  7. And as one of those people who left to play those other games (CoH rocks), albeit not altogether, I say it's NOT a "Desperate bid" at anything. We knew about a space expansion during beta. It's not like this is new information. And if we wanna get real technical we (we being the players who still play and are a bit more hard core than others) knew that it wouldn't be out until fall of this year. We waited, we're being rewarded. I see nothing desperate about it. On another note, the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series were all pretty much great, but as Phyrox said, Alliance was the last. Alas, great games don't make companies big, it's the little tiny POS games that bring them money, so great licenses die hard. Cold hard truth of the video game world.
  8. I did the same crap two days ago with a buddy's comp. frakking Windows XP caused it. 45 gigs of various stuff, gone. *POOF* Thanks Microsoft, we needed that. In case you're wondering, we had also selected one drive and it formatted another. Seems to be a miscommunication between the BIOS and the install program, causing it to read the drives in the wrong order. When it thinks it formatting C: it's ruining your life over on D:.
  9. Look in the backgroun of this pic. VF-1 mega armor (yeah I totally forgot the name of it, I'm lame) armor and Q-Rau...
  10. Great work. -edit: Not great. Just looked at it all. Spectacular work. 'cept you're gonna get sued by Valve. lol
  11. VTOL while in fighter mode? Is that what that implies? The hell?
  12. Great pics. I have those exact blinds... And that clock....AWESOME!
  13. I completed it in about 4-5 days total playing time. I have a few gripes with inconsistent AI and the difficulty level noticably jumping when I neared the final levels. The AI on challenging (even with the autobalance on) was impressive but when they either run from a nade or stand there depending how they feel during that level retry, gets annoying. Hiding in bushes however was totally fun, especially when using the silenced MP5. Best part of the game IMO. The difficulty towards the end jumped very high, almost to a point to where I thought I had actually put the game on realistic (which by the way is almost impossible to play) and made it that far. A few physics in the game changed towards the end too. The rocket launchers used throughout almost the entire game has a slow, "dodgeability" to them. Later on when you enter one of the last complexes, they are lightning fast and almost unnoticable before you get hit by one and die. A few other things bothered me; shooting a guy with an entire M-16 clip, clearly hitting his head 70% of the time and him not dropping because he had armor on was, to say the least, highly lame. Also, sniping with the 50 cal, holding your breath, prone and hitting someone in the head and not killing them got a tad annoying and made me want to smash my keyboard to tiny, smoldering, smithereens. I give the story a C. It was OK but nothing that makes me want to play through again. I had a great time playing it through and it's been a long time since I played a game that actually scared the hell out of me in parts. You who've finished it know about that certain first meeting with the Trigen I'm talking about. Multi-player is awesome though. Story and my personal problems aside, this game SHINES in multiplayer. I have never had so much fun running to the top of a mountain, sighting someone with a set of sound-nocs and smiping them from so far away they can't even imagine where it came from. The game itself in it's single player form I give an B+. There are a few things they could patch out/in and it would bring this to a clean A+. Multiplayer: A+ Nuff' said. The weapons, how they react when used, the vehicles (short of "boss" vehicles) all A+ The voice acting and voice to pixel meshing needs some SERIOUS work. I think they pulled people off the street, gave them hot meals and said "voice this game". F Graphics and eye candy I'd give an A+ if I didn't need a X-14 Government Super Computer to run it on medium to very high. Low settings are still visually stunning though. I give it a B+ here. Keep in mind I am running a near new Alienware with a P4 2.8 HT and an ATI 9800 FireGL Vid card and I chunk up with it on any of those setting. It's a bit demanding. I recommend FarCry to anyone who wants a great FPS to play through once for something to do and enjoy. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome FPS to play in multiplayer
  14. They DO refer to me as their "aweosme" uncle... Their mother (my sister in law) refers to me as the "bad" uncle... I get them M80s from overseas, got them all brass knuckels, got them drunk for the first time, got them all interested in Van Damme movies. When their parents go out of town sometimes they come and crash with me. I tell them they are allowed to watch any movie as long as there is a high body count, and their mother WOULDN'T approve of it. Will you be my uncle?!?!? \m/
  15. 82.0% Pure, 18.0% Corrupt. What do I win?
  16. I seem to recall Luke wipping out total pwnage on an AT-AT in Empire.....
  17. This has probably been said a few times already but why did the Sylph has such a short life? It was pretty damned cool and then it was gone.
  18. I don't think the animation is anywhere near A material. Most of the time it looks like the digitally rendered plane is being moved across the 2d animated background by hand. It's nowhere near as blended as M0. I think if they had animated the planes without the cg, and added a bit more plot/story (in the sense it's not confusing as all frakk) it'd be A+ all around.
  19. Exact thing I said when I saw him at the Wal-Mart the other day. -.-
  20. Just gonna go with Marvel VS Capcom 2 and Capcom VS SNK 2. Nuff' said.
  21. I think that is the main point here. Not just the dvd itself, but the non-RT (but still Macross) items they are selling. Pretty much falls under "you can't sell it here because we'll sue you, but we'll sell it here and sue you if you bitch"
  22. Chewie

    custom 1/48 CF + FP

That looks totally amazing but one question, and a lot of people seem to do it: Why would the missiles on the wings have a weathered/used look? Do they really sit on there long enough to gather dust and grime like that? Not saying anything bad, but asking an honest question. =)
  23. Wow. That was awesome. No sound in space.....psh.
  24. Is that ugly thing supposed to be the toy that is so nicely represented in the other threads? Ew.
  25. Just out of curiosity, why the change in scales? If I missed it in an earlier port, sorry.
