Need help identifying and 80's toyline
Excillon replied to Excillon's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's it! god look at those things! -
OK, If I remember these were pre-transformers toys. They were robots, and had one big suction cup instead of feet. They also had wierd arms and I remember they had a button on back that could make their arms move when you pressed it. They were about as tall as He man figures.

I remember seeing it about 12-13 years ago. All I really remember is that it had a teenage guy who had a yellow speeder type bike that could fly in space, and he hung out with a pirate looking guy with a beard and pointy ears. It was really good, and it's been driving me nuts because I want to buy it!

first toy purchase as an adult
Excillon replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I kind of dabbled here and there for a while, but didn't go full time until I discovered Binaltech. Mostly I just built Gundam kits. -
I think I'm gonna pick up a few of em for the following reasons: 1. Kitbashes and repaints. 2. One to keep original, the color scheme isn't all bad. 3. spare parts to repair real valks.

That's the third episode that has the ass laser. After watching it a 2nd time, I'm shooting something out of my ass, but it ain't a laser. I think that Bandai needs to straight up sue that cartoon into oblivion. I wonder though...is this like the Joons version of SDF?

You know what I meant!

Oh Christ, that was bad...the VF-1J vs. a Voltron monster, with Amuro piloting and the writing staff from Power rangers. Is it just me or in that song are the kids voices chanting "GUNDAM WING!" ? Ugh....

My advice for viewing the Gundam Universe is this (in order): 1. Gundam Wing ( IMO, the most beginner friendly gundam series, and my favorite. Yeah, people may be appalled that I say that, but I really don't care. The D-Hell is the baddest gundam of all time, as is Duo!) 2. Mobile Suit Gundam (the most popular, with a lot of continuations, etc.) 3. Gundam SEED (people hated it, I personally don't think it's all that bad) 4. Gundam Seed Destiny (ugh, the second most crappy series, but a continuation of SEED) 5. G- Gundam (awful, horrible, couldn't stand it. If I wanted to watch Dragonball Z, I'd watch Dragonball Z and not a horrible gundam based knock-off.) 6. Turn-A, X, etc. (I finished Turn-A recently, and I'm gonna start on the others. Turn-A was great, just wish there was a dub version available)

Something really kick ass happened to me a little while back, and it's loosely related to Gundam models. Last week, I was building my 1/100 Sandrock Custom (I know, but I love wing and can't help it) and my 7 year old daughter sat next to me and started asking me about it. Next thing you know, I'm teaching her how to build a model and panel line. Then she started watching Gundam and she loves it, she has a crush on Trowa. Anyhow, I promised her we'd build the PG Strike Rouge next, so now I'm out 200 for a kit I never really wanted...I have the regular strike. At risk of sounding cheesy though, it's worth it. I even promised her we'd put it on display in her room.

Why the hell has no one mentioned PATLABOR?!?!?!?!?
-
While I like Seed, and the Freedom, I think the first one was good enough. Rather than tweaking and recoloring I'd rather some Gundam's who have been snubbed from the MG treatment: Gundam Deathscythe Hell Gundam Heavy Arms Tallgeese Epyon an MG Red/Blue and Gold Frame Gundam leopard

Here's my wanted list as of right now, listed by priority. If you're going to try charging and arm and a leg, don't bother. If you just want to make a little extra money, free up some space, etc. then by all means PM me. Not picky about boxes, etc. however they must be unbroken. Gundam HG 1/100 kits, I prefer unbuilt but I'll take built depending on the kit. Here's the ones I really want: Gundam wing EW-07 Serpent Custom 1/100 Gundam Seed Red Frame 1/100 Gundam Seed Blue Frame 1/100 Gundam Seed Gold Frame 1/100 Gundam Seed Strike gundam (Launcher, sword, or ailestrike) I'm currently working on a massive UC diorama! Help me out! I need multiple Zeon suits, and GM suits as well! Gundam MG kits (built or unbuilt): GP05 GP04 Gundam Mk.II (1.0 or 2.0) Gundam Mk.II Titans (1.0 or 2.0) GM's (Ground and Space type) Hi-Zack Gouf custom Kampfer Rick Dom Fazz Sentinel Strike Rouge Misc: Evangelion decals If I don't get back to you right away, it's because my work schedule is extremely hectic. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks for those who have offered to help me out so far. I found one for 120, so if anyone can beat that, LMK. I'm also interested in Gundam PG kits, looking for either the Mk-II or the RX-78-2. Thanks!

Depends on how much you want to pay. As I said Toyking has it. They are selling it for US$78.73 before shipping. They are located in Taiwan. Go check out their website. They have a 10th Version as well which cost much more. http://www.toyking.com.tw/shop/main3e.asp?...&Style=1&wnum=3 ToyWave also has it but it cost more than Toyking. http://www.toy-wave.com/php/detail.php?id=6444&table=13ah 426603[/snapback] Is toyking reliable? I've never ordered from them.

Come on, I know someone here has one of these damn kits...

Yeah I saw it. Look at the bottom corner of the package. It's a counterfeit. The bandai logo has been replaced by "1/100 scale" That's way to much with shipping for a fake PG.
