  1. I found an old Spartan destroid model kit at the bottom of my storage boxes the other day. The wife is bugging me to finish up some of the kits I have before I get any new ones. So I deciding to start this one. Now I used to play the old Palladium Robotech RPG game. We were crazy into that game, we actually built map boards using N scale model railroad buildings and scenery with figurines. I'm a little nuts with my figurine modeling too, because I can't leave them in the as cast poses. So I'm always cutting them up to repose them, adding details and weapons. I would even have three seperate figurines for my valks for the different modes that they where in. In the fighter mode I would attach them to the figurine base with a piece of wire or clear rod, and landscape the base too.

Anyways, in the game, I had a Special Forces platoon of modified Spartans that had the guns removed from the front of the torso, and exclusively used the GU 11 gun pods from Valkyries. The bay in the center torso was converted to hold extra clips for the gun pods. My questions are:

    1. does anyone make a GU 11 gun pod in a weapons set or seperate in a 1/72 scale ?

    2. Does anyone make a poseable hand for 1/72 mecha ?

In my original designs, for the game, the Spartans where converted to have the Valkyrie hands anyways for better dexterity to operate the gun pods, and hand to hand combat. I know this doesn't exactly follow canon, but this was for a game, which expanded the Macross/Robotech timeline.

    Hi,

I have an extra gunpod and some mecha hands you could have. Let me dig it up for you. Where do you live?

  2. Hi All,

In my quest for super amazing mega canopy, I accidentally destroid the canopy decal. oops. I know some of you must mask and paint the canopy frame, so maybe someone has an extra decal that they don't need! Please let me know if you can part with one, or trade for parts or something.

    thanks,

  3. Hi,

I installed a mod chip in my fatty PS2. It cost $40 and it's permanent. I can play all my Japanese games, US games, and any region type DVD. It was hard to install and I had to get some help from a friend who works in electrical. There was about 20 small wires to connect. It's a great way to if you have some experience with soldering.

    Cheers,

    Casey

  4. Thanks for the good advices all, I think I'll "stick" with my 3rd party stickers as I want a realistic finish that'll hold, but I'm not interested in putting hours of fine work to put waterslides on.

    Hey dood,

    You could try this:

    1. Clean the surface with mild soap and water (dish soap would be fine) & let it air dry completely.

    2. If the surface is flat, you could gloss coat it first with a spray can of gloss. If it is straight plastic it will be fine.

    3. Cut the stickers carefully without touching them; use tweezers or hobby knife to lift the sticker using the tip.

    4. After placing the sticker use a tissue between your fingers to rub the sticker to smooth it down.

    5. Use a gloss coat to seal the sticker by: a. warm up the can in WARM water, b. hold the can about 10cm from the piece, c. start spraying before the piece and pass over the whole thing before you stop spraying.

    6. Cover it with an upside-down plastic container to prevent dust etc. from settling on it and let it dry for 24hrs.

    7. Wash your hands before working

    8. practice on a scrap first

    Good luck!
