  1. The kit was not hard to put together, just time consuming, if you wanted to make it "playable". Painting is time consuming for me too, trying to paint on a resin kit and hope that it won't scratch during transformation is nearly impossible. For me, I have to put alot of spacers between the parts to sperate them to avoid scratching.

Posibility of the kit is not bad, considering that there is so much limitations in movement due to the design of the battriod mode. I would say that it is better then that of the old yamato Yf-19, and about the same as that of the Vf-11b.

I will try to post some pics of the battriod in kneeing position later when I have time.

  2. SHE claims it to be 1/100, but I think it is more like 1/72, because the size of the pilot is almost the same as that of the Yamato 1/72 vf-11b. In fighter mode, the kit is 21 cm long.

    Here is a comparison shot.

  3. Thanks for the complement guys!

Yes, the kit was very loose in the beginning. Basically, the kit was held together in each mode by tension of the screws. This is where the problem lies with resin cast pieces; because they are solid, so they are too heavy for little screws to hold on tight. Also the screws tend to loose its threads after a few transformation. This is why you need to put in locks and washers. But the thing I like about resin is that it is more solid than a model, so it actually feels more like a toy than a model after the modification. All in all, I think it is worth it, because this is something that I wanted for a long time.

    Valk 009:

As requested, I have put up another thread of my 1/48 Vf-1S (with extendable leading and trailing edge) in the toy forum. Please check it out.

    Ha Ha

    Enjoy!

  4. Hi guys:

This is something that I did a few years ago, but never got around to take pictures of it. This was done before the there was a 1/48 hikaru Vf-1s, so this one is constructed from the body of a hikaru 1A and wings, head, and tail of a fokker 1S.

    enjoy!

You can also check out my other thread on the build up of SHE VF-4G in the model forum.

  5. First of all, I would like to thank Valk009 for finding me the Studio Half Eye VF-4.

The following pictures (1-30) are steps which I took in building the kit. Numbers and descriptions were inserted in the pictures. Please keep in mind that this is the first time that I have ever build a resin kit, so please excuse my skills... Ha Ha Ha

The kit was very time consuming to build, but in the end, it is all worth it when it is completed. I can now play with it like a toy, and can transform it faster than the 1/72 yamato toys. I am very satisfy with the kit.

    Enjoy!

  6. Thanks for the update!

Hi, I have put in a pre-order of the Garland from Twon moon anime, and I was just wondering if anyone has received any news from them? It has been a while, and today is suppose to be the release date for them, but I still haven't got any request of payment from them... I hope I get it soon...

I was in contact with Tam lastnight and he said that the Garlands wont show up from Yamato till sometime next week and to just be patient, when he gets his stuff he'll get them and it'll be all worth it :p

  7. Just want to thank Valk009 for finding me the Studio Half Eye VF-4. I have been looking for this kit for years, and I cannot believe the kit is in my hands, only one month after I mentioned it in the "wanted" forum.

The kit was well packaged, nothing was damage in the mail. The transaction was smooth with great communication thru the whole process. It arrived very quickly. I could not ask for more!

Thank you Valk 009 and macrossworld !!!

  8. good point.

Instead of competing, can we just set up place to host all these fan arts, just like we did with the custom valkyries? They are all great drawings and I really think they deserve a place to be displayed.

Who even knew Honneamise can paint...

    387674[/snapback]

... anyone who was following the ghost buildup thread? ;-)

Seriously, though, wouldn't the obvious solution to submission angst just be to not disqualify entries that didn't win from future months? If Honneamise's painting wins this month there's no reason vf_1s' shouldn't be nominated next month, is there? It's not any less good a painting next month. Perhaps rule that you can't enter something for three months after the last thing of yours was displayed, to keep the shuffle going? I'd have thought something like this should really be about getting a broad look at some of the cool Macross-related things people are producing rather than worrying people about timing or whatever...

  9. Wow, you guys are so good, I actually thought of entering next month, just to avoid the competition. But in the end, I have decided to enter, because even if I lost, there is nothing to be ashame of, the drawings that you guys did were truly awesome!!!

Here is a painting that I did in highschool, it was a picture in one my macross art book. Hope you guys like it.

    post-3663-1144214655_thumb.jpg

  10. Yes Yes, that will be great! Thanks! What I am perticular interested in is how you do the panel lines, windows, and the "metal?" landing gear for the fan jet. Did you cast them?

Thanks for your complement too. The aircrafts are in 1/200 scale, well approximately. I am also building a carrier for them too, it kind of resembles the space ship "sulaco" in alien II, but I am building it out of foam boards, and it is no where as detail as your Daedalus. Can't wait to see it when you are done.

    Thanks again!

  11. Ha ha, thanks for your offer, that was very nice of you.

I went to engineering school (mechanical engg and robotic engg), and my graduate studies in the area of material science (i.e. studying microstructure of steel and how they effect the strength and property...) Kind of geeky hey? That's why I like to make my own toys...

by the way, when I was in Vancouver, I pick up a little "hell diver" figure that match the heli's scale. Do you want to see it? I can show you the pics.

  12. Thanks!

I am not sure what they are called, but I love the design so much that I have to make one.

I made this one almost 10 yrs ago, when I had a lot of time... I don't want to promise you anything, because I am doing my graduate studies after work now, so I am a little bit busy... But I will try to make you an unpainted one (within 1 year?) Is that ok?

VF_1 I will do ANYTHING for the Patlabor helix. I love that little thing. I think they are called hellriders?

  13. Hi MECH TECH:

I just saw the miniture models that you did, they are so professionally done, if you didn't tell me, I would have thought you bought them from the street.

I like to scratch built models too, and I did some miniture ones too. But I was wondering if you could teach us how to make the one you show in the picture?

The ones that I did are made from strlene board, here is a few:

    - The helicopter from Patlabor the movie I

    - Yukikaze

    - FA-2 Fand 2

  14. No, No. I am not upset at you either. Sorry (to you and to others) if I made it sound that way. I really don't mean to do that.

It was nice meeting you. It must be nice being an architect, that is something that I have always wanted to do. But in Canada, there is just not enough design projects to do. Luck you!

  15. OK guys:

I thought I would just let it slide and move on. However, it seems like you guys have totally missed my point.

What I was complaining about was the fact that I was lead to believe in the fact that I was the first one who bid on the deal even though there were others infront of me. If I would have known this at the beginning, I would have just skip the whole deal. Even the seller amided that I was kept "in the running" in case others dropped out.

Lawers? No, sorry, I am just an Engineer.

I just thought that there should have been more "transparency" in buying and selling to save time and protect both sides of the parites. However, if you guys don't see anything wrong, that's fine with me too.

I thought this was a place to reflect upon negative experience, but now I know that there has to be a breech of contract for anyone to be posted here. Thank you for pointing that out.

Ok, any lawyers out there?

If none, I guess I'll dig up my fifth grade commerce textbook....let's see....um...ah....ee....ah..., here we are.  OK, here we go:

For a contract to take effect, the following conditions must be satisfied:

    1. Both parties must be benefited from the contract.

    2. There must be an offer; &

    3. There must be an acceptance of the offer.

From the above posts, it was clear that both, Conditions 1 & Condition 2 had been satisfied, that is:

    1. Both parties would have benefited from the contract (Vf_1s would have been laughing when he gets his new Sv-51 Inanov Hasegawa model & Roy’s Blue would have been $$$ richer); &.

    2. Vf_1s made an monetary offer to Roy’s Blue in exchange for the Sv-51 Inanov Hasegawa model.

Now, it is a bit unclear whether Condition 3 had been satisfied, that is, has Roy’s Blue accepted the monetary offer from Vf_1s?

If Roy’s Blue had not accepted Vf_1s offer, then by definition, the contract was never completed and he would have been free to enter contract with any other parties.  Clarifying shipment and the price is probably not the same as “acceptanceâ€, at best, it would be considered as “clarificationâ€.

So, final verdict:…um….I’m just an architect, I better go and play with my 1/48 Valks…happy bidding.

    Edit:

Bty, if the buyer offered an amount to the seller and the seller accepted the offer, and if the buyer backed away from the deal, then that is a breach of contract, and the backed away buyer is liable for damages (in MW terms, that translates to "black listed").

  16. No, I am not here to curse anyone, and this is not a personal attack. I am just writing this to explain why i felt the way I did, that's all.

Like I already said, the seller has the right to sells to who he or she chooses to sell to. That's something that I have no control over.

However, here is the part that I don't understand.

1.) From what I can see in the post, I was the first one to repond. So this has lead me to falsely believed that I was the first one to offer.

2.) When I PM Roy's Blues, I specifically stated that I will take the item, and stated that it needs to be shipped to Canada.

3.) If I was not the first one, then why didn't Roy's Blues tell me that the model has already been sold or that there were other bidders before me, and I am too late. Also, if he could have told me that he did not want to sell to Canada.

4.) Again, Roy's Blues replied 2 times the next day (12 hrs later) regarding the shippment method and the prices. However he still didn't tell me that I was not the first one, or that others were also bidding on the item. Also, there would have been enough time for him to decide that he did not wish to send the item to Canada.

5.) It was not another 9 hrs later that I send another Pm to Roy's Blues, and he finally told me that he decide to sell the item to another member in us.

6.) I am sorry that all these have lead me to believe that I was the first one to make the offer, and that the item was sold to me, and we are only sorting out the shipping details.

7.) If Roy's blues would have told me from the very beginning that there were other offers before me, or that he did not wish to sell to me because I live in Canada or because I am a new member, I would have been happy to withdraw from the deal, instead of waiting for his reply in front of the computer for 9 hrs.

Why didn't Roy's blues tell me this all these times? What is the reson for not doing that?

Again, the above comments were base on what I thought would be logical. If this is not how things works in this forum, or if I have misunderstood anyone, please accept my appology.

    Sorry.

    sincerely, Patrick

I really love Macross, and I sincerely wanted to make friends here, not enemy.

  17. Hi everyone, my name is Patrick. I don't expect everyone to see the situation the way I did, but I just wanted to share my experience with you...

On march 27, 2006, I saw a post from Roy's Blues stating that he is selling a "Sv-51 Inanov Hasegawa, Completed model".

1.) I was the first one who said I will take it.

2.) Afterwards, I have received another email from Roy's Blues acknowledging the fact that the item was sold to me.

3.) Then I ask Roy if he offer other shipping method besides EMS, if not then I will stick with it. Also, I ask him for his paypal account, so that I can pay him accordingly.

4.) Meanwhile, other members start to inquire about the item, and Roy's Blues ask other members if he sold it for too little money

5.) I have no reply from Roy for the next 6 hrs.

6.) I then send another PM to Roy's blue asking for the ID so that I can pay him.

7.) Then Roy's blue replied and said that he sold it to another member in the US.

I understand that this is not ebay, and there is nothing I can do if a seller decide to back out of a deal and go for a better one. But I don't still don't think this is fair nor is it honest. I am very disappointed.
