I still collect, but I don't play anymore. I just picked up the new Codex for Dark Angels and Black Templars and the new space marine terminator chaplain. I've been into 40k on and off since Rogue Trader also, still have the original hard back rule book, red compendium, and white dwarfs. I think its great how over the years they have taken the original artwork and models and woven them into the fluff for 40K back story, my favorite sci-fi universe by far. I played quite a bit a few years ago when the newer game rules first came out, now I just build customs and try to finish painting some squads. I love the modeling, but the painting takes forever. I have built some large armies, but very little painted. They are made up of mostly metal models ranging from Rogue Trader to now. 5000pt point Dark Angels Army (they are the original black also), 2500pt World Eaters Army, 2500pt Daemonhunters / Imperial Guard Army and I was going to build a Black Templar army. I've only ever played Dark Angels though sadly.

I kinda like the brighter colors, but I already have the MPC version and it was a major, major let down. Since Aoshima is not making it, there's no way in hell I'll buy one now.

I really like mine, he is has great articulation and can do some cool poses, much more than SOC versions. But he feels more like an action figure, but still reasonably heavy its a great combination. Most of the inner skeleton is diecast and it works very well when you add the adhesive strips. Bigger than SOC versions too, he looks cartoony like the manga, but cool.

Lol, too bad Dimension didn't answer my PMs about his VF-1J Max in the sale section. I was really going to buy it used for $300. I figured that was a lot better than the the other chumps that paid over $400. This is great news, I hope the QC is as good as the recent Stealths. Preordered, now I'm temped to get Millia too.

Yeah that fewture black getter is sick, but the price is too retarded even for me. On the Aoshima Mazinkaiser versions, very confusing. I already have that one you posted, that's the new Black Version. I finally figured out the versions a while ago. I love my Aoshima Mazinakaiser. The Max Factory is a little nicer, but very different. Smaller and not nearly as massive and heavy. The max factory is perfect standing next to your SOC Mazingers. But if you have the Aoshima Daishogun (one of my favorties), you will need a Aoshima Mazinkaiser to stand next to that monster. I still can't find the original Aoshima Japanese Black wings version of Mazinkaiser or the latest Normal Red wings version. I've been searching ebay for months.

That is wicked badass. The finish does look very nice. How is it done? Is it painted?

Wow, first time I've heard of this. It looks really cool, too bad its so small, but I'll still buy it. I have the Toynami and I was very disappointed at the size especially next to the Gakkens. I already have the CM Ingram on the way in the mail. I'm anxious to check out the quality of there stuff, the price is not cheap.

Yep, BBTS $159 brand new right now. BBTS Dancouga I like BBTS, but they really piss me off. I pay full price for stuff and then they drop the price way down the very next month or sometimes the same week. Annoying.

I just picked up my first 1/60 VF-1. I got a VF-1A Max for $60 shipped to go with my Q-Rau. I'm really not impressed. I wanted to pose the 2 dynamically fighting each other on flexistands, but the 1/60 VF-1A has absolutely no stability in the legs when they're off the ground. They just flop around and even when its standing it has to be balanced perfectly so it won't flop over. I could deal with all the removing parts, but the legs should have some kind of basic stability on the hip rotation.

I would still buy it for $70 maybe if the legs and chest were all diecast as claimed in the thread before.

Man that's disappointing, the pic next to the 1/48 valk was the dealbreaker for me. I just canceled my pre-order. I measured it up before, but it looks so tiny next to the valk.

I got it on ebay, but its an official release. All 92 episodes. It comes in a 3 package set, each package containing 3 DVDs. It was really cool to see it again, the english subtiles are god aweful though. The characters have a different name every epsiode. Mazinger DVDs

Thanks for the link. I'm thinking the movie version looks the best of the 2. BTW, I did take some quick shots of Dancouga a couple months ago. Ebay haul last month. All for $234 New. Except GX-01R, he wasn't part of the lot, he sneaked into the pic somehow.

I' have really gotten into SOC and other chogokins in last few months partly due to great threads like this one. Actually I'm more into it now than Macross or Transformers, not that I don't spend money still on those too (just picked up 1/60 VF-1A Max and Queadluun-Rau). Just got done watching the entire Mazinger TV series, movies, and Mazinkaiser OVA and movie. I was only able to see Mazinger as Tranzor when I was a kid. Eventhough its very old the Mazinger series was really great to see again. I really need to take som pics of collection now as it has grown insanely in the last few months. Stuff keeps coming out and I keep getting good deals. It has really gotten way out of control. 20th Aniv Optimus Prime about a couple years ago. Then I started looking for a replacement for my old beat down Jetfire and I found Macross World. Then I bought a Yamato 1/48 VF-1S and it was all over, can't stop now.

That flying pose kicks ass! I can't wait for this badboy. Anyone know the exact release date? I've seen as late as Nov 30. I've had him on preorder for a while at BBTS. I am a sucker for diecast. I got so tired of waiting I started looking at other Chogokin. I caved and ordered a Shin Seiki Goukin Mazinkaiser Kawai Black Custom off ebay for a reputable seller. I can't wait, hopefully nothing goes wrong (you know how buying on ebay is).

Drifand, nice work, especially on the extra armament. I might have to do that too. Nice pics too! Good work on the waist mod, thanks for the props. You can get the torso to slide down all the way, you just need to remove a little more material on the front hip plates. Also you might have to take the corner off the diecast back frame. you'll need a dremel for that. I cut off more than needed, but I believe the edge of the corner will prevent the torso from sliding all the way down when rotated. Mine sits flush even when I have the waist rotated and the legs rotated up. Notice how low the notch is on the front hip plates. Although it is not noticeable when the torso is slid all the way down. Also in this image look at the black diecast back frame and see that the corner is cut off to allow clearance for the waist to turn.

On MP-03 you definitely want to raise the middle back piece out and up first before folding the wing joint. BBTS is replacing my broken wing joints, awesome customer service.

This particular wing joint problem is especially retarded. 1. there is not enough clearance for the joint to actually move. 2. the plastic there is extremely small and thin. 3. they even put a panel line right across that joint, and guess what it cracked along the panel line Besides this major problem the toy really is very, very nice, but not without other minor flaws.

On the quality of construction. It is way below par in this category, there are a number of things that are just slopppy execution for a masterpiece. Its closer to a Toynami Masterpiece than it is to MP1 Masterpiece. The main thing is the weak wing joints. I have used the wing joint about 5-10 times. First I only had a single stress mark, but last night the wing joint cracked in half in 2 places. Now the rest of the joint on that wing is developing more stress marks and it seems to only be a matter of transformations before it breaks off completely.

That last skywarp looks pretty good, just unfinished. Much better than the glossy paint. drifand, thanks. I know what you mean, it really was not that hard to take the design all the way to allow the waist and hips to move. David, I did look at a bunch of F15E pics before I cut it and I noticed the differences in the other F15 models. It really makes all the difference along with the hip and waist mods because his foot can lay flat in whatever position. The heel is much more posable, everyone should nix those little bits. Though if you reduce the gap on the exhaust you might lose a lot of heel articulation. You're right about the arm tanks, I think I've pretty much given up on that one. I might try going back to the kibble on the leg later, but when I mocked it up the tail wings really are huge on the leg it makes him feel clunky. But you could make a perfect transformation out of it. Gettting into the lower leg might require prying out plastic screw covers that are glued in.
