I couldn't agree with you more. Hopefully the next one would center around 1 or 2 individuals as main characters and some sort of battle or struggle involving kick ass mecha. I wouldn't mind dropping the music thing too!

Short but sweet with an excellent opening theme

Has high school kids for pilots (only because the earth is short on adults due to heavy casualties) but it doesn't take itself too seriously.

GPM did have a good theme song. And story was totally unexpected which i guess makes it stand out from the rest of the mecha genre. I wished it could be more though.

Gunparade Ochestra sorta uses the same formula but focuses on another group of students in a non-strategic area , so they see little action cause phantom beasts dun really attack there. Halfway through the series, it gets abit weirder as the story focuses on the Raiden Squad where the students ride these ugly genetically altered beasts called Raiden. Interesting to note that their commander is a fat bespectacled evil lookin guy with the name, Shibamura. The series never finished fansub though....and the OP is cool as well.

Thanks for the tip on GPO Just finished watching the first 9 episodes (up to where the beasts come in). Very nice. The high school teacher in drag is different I managed to get the full series with subs but whoever did the subs must have been dislexic as sometimes they make no sense what so ever
