  1. I've got one of the huge Airfix TSR-2 kits and want to do it as the TSR.2MS but am having difficulty finding any decent pictures of it (crappy search-fu ).

I'm not really interested in cockpit pics as I'm going to wuss out and do it with a closed cockpit but any external pics, especially ones that show any markings and colouring would be appreciated.

(Edited to get the plane's name right, Doh!)

  2. Finally finished one of John's Tomahawk kits. While I don't think it's up to the standard of some of the work shown here it doesn't look too bad from a distance. Had a few disasters along the way. I used Vallejo paint and I wasn't used to the way it dries and ended up with a few mistakes in the finish so I dirtied it up a bit to hide the evidence ;) The outside right leg decal didn't approve and started to crack but not much I could do about it so I'll just have to make sure I position it on the shelf so that it can't be easily seen :o .

  3. Just curious to know how the pre-order deal on Starship Modeller works if you are not casting anymore and you still have the molds. How is Gundamhead getting more arms to fill the orders?

:) My casting days (at least in any quantity) are done for a while. I'm truly sorry, I'd love to help...but I honestly don't have the time anymore. (I havent touched my two bench cast area literally since I packed these molds up which had to be 2005)

I posted this cause I was stunned the molds still worked. I also wouldn't want to go behind Gundamheads back. I made a deal with him to cast these for him to sell, and I wouldn't want to be seeming to be cutting him out.

All that said...if someone wants to cast them and wants my molds please contact Gundamhead. If you can work a deal with him I'd be happy to provide my molds, and all the information you will need on how to work them. At least 1 is designed for Vacuum casting, and you'd need a nice size pressure tank for the others, but we can talk about that. I dont know how many kits they will produce (again, I'm shocked they didn't fall apart after this long...but the rubber seems good...if you keep them well powdered you might get 10 to 20 kits out of them.

Let me know if your interested and Ill be happy to try and help broker a deal with Gundamhead.

    Cheers all.

  5. I doubt you'd make enough to retire on ;)

Most places that still have the pack in stock are virtually giving it away.

One of the best things those packs had going for them was they were not pot luck like the regular series were. You knew what you were getting and there were some decent cards in some of the packs as well.

I reckon your best bet would be to break the pack up and sell the components individually. That way you just might get your money back.

  6. Is the MechWarrior: Dark Age tabletop game still popular? I saw a House Davion Action Pack heavily discounted at a local store and thought it might be a good ebay selling opportunity. I know that the people making the game folded, but there has to still be a thriving community for it.

As far as I know there are no sponsored tournaments any more and that's where it's popularity came from. Sure people are still playing it but without the lure of prize packs and cheap mechs that were on offer to clubs for their monthly games a lot of clubs have just dried up (at least in Aus anyway). In the last few months of last year I sold off about 400 clicky mechs on ebay so there is a market for them but they didn't sell as well as they did 2 years ago.

  7. Everything remains the same as the 2008-released toy with the exceptions of a newly designed packaging and the addition of a projector key holder that will project a red skull mark!

Wouldn't matter if they actually wrote on the side of the box that the shoulders were pre broken for your convenience, the Yamato Macross fan boy legion would still buy it and then complain like there was no tomorrow that the shoulders were broken

  8. Not to defend anyone, but I've ordered tons of stuff from HLJ and had it shipped to me all over the world. No damage at all and I was always amazed at their high tech packaging (compared to everyone else's "peanuts"). My only complaint about them is they're in Japan so shipping is costly, but that comes with the territory. - MT

What's so "high tech" about heat sealed plastic air pockets  Tons of places use them and you can even buy them from packing firms.

  9. A lot of people here have ordered with HLJ before, maybe some people had experienced similar problems and gotten final resolution. It wouldn't hurt to seek the advise from the mored experienced others.

As NO ONE here represents HLJ, whatever advise you get is just conjecture on their behalf. As I said contact them and join the world of satisfied HLJ customers when they give you their stock answer referring you to their FAQ of all care but no responsibility.
