  1. The most I ever spent on a Macross item was split in two. I spent $500.00 for a resin kit of the 1/72 Destroid Monster. But the number one was $2400.00 on a Takatoku / BANDAI Valkyrie Lot. ( 2 VF-1S, 2 sets of GPB Armor MINTy MINT and , a couple of Conversion kits and 1/44 destroids...a total of 6 VF-1S 1/72 HCM and 5 VF-1J 1/72 HCM, and VF-1S Strike 1:55) And I am never going to do that again! Rob
  2. Hello Guys, I just had my partner get off the phone with Yamato. Kinda hard to get through sometimes. Anyway I have some bad news. 1. No heads on any Valks. This is new. I guess they had alot of people order large amounts of Heads so they stopped completely. Sorry. 2. Also about the 1/60 Valks. They have some parts, but only for the recent releases. They are concentrating on making parts for the 1/48 scale only. So it looks as though everthing released in the future by the way of Valkyries will be 1/48 scale. I guess that is good news and Bad news. 3. No canopy's. This is the 3rd time I have asked. They just won't sell them to me. 4. No Hands. They didn't give a reason. Seems like a common piece. If anyone needs one in the future I will try again. So orders will be limited to 1/48 scale. I will be updating a list of available parts here soon. I also have a request. If someone could scan the parts section in the VF-1S manual and post them here or E-mail me with it I would be grateful. I don't have it in the shop, and I don't have one. I want to do a parts comparison to see if they are the same. Thanks. Rob
  3. The Takatoku SDF-1 Had mini-valks...real mini.
  4. Hello All, Thanks for all the kind comments. I just showed this Thread to my partner (Translated it for him too), and he was really touched. And he then surprized me....he said if I wanted to I could list it. This really really surprized me! He wants me to sell it. He told me it would be no greater honor than to offer this to someone. (But he won't let me keep it ) So the whole kit is going on eBay tonight. Just to clear up what some of you may think, I had no intention of ever selling this. This is solely Syoji's request. (I think it may bring him pain to look at it ) Most Japanese don't show very much emotion, but it was clear that he was deeply touched by your comments. And I did do this thread to honor a great modeller. As I get the chance I will clean up and post pics of some of his Macross models that he did. Thanks again. Rob
  5. Hello All, I am not sure if this is in the right place. Mods feel free to move it if I did place it in the wrong forum. It's not talked about much but a few years ago my partner's brother died suddenly. They didn't know the cause, and it is still a mystery. In any case from what I could tell he was just about the biggest collector of Macross, Gundam and some I don't even know the names of. His collection which I was able to see only a few months ago was simply amazing. (It's a Japanes custom to seal off a room when someone dies for 7 years..very old custom). Anyway the room was blessed and opened. What I saw simply amazed me. He had tons of completed models that would take your breath away. they lloked almost real. Unfortunately most of them were ruined due to the fact that they had been there unprotected for so many years. What I did get to see is just about the best cock-pit painting job I have ever seen. He didn't believe in using air-brushes or fancy tools. It was completely hand done. Anyway I wanted to share this amazing paint job here, to honor him and to give insiration to model builders all over the world. The model is of a Northrop F-5 E Tiger II 1/32 Scale. The only thing completed on this was the cockpit.
  6. I voted YES. I wonder if it will be released in Japan at the same time???
  7. Man excellent work. I wish I had those skills. I guess it would also help not being color-blind Seriously GREAT JOB! Rob MN
  8. valkyrietestpilot has offered to recieve all the part orders and re-mail them. Thank you very much. You will be able to save everyone on the shipping! Rob MN
  9. I tired to order some canopy's before and they said they didn't sell them. It is one of those unsure items really. I can try to order them. They also said I couldn't order Heat Shields yet when I recieved my order I had the heat Shields. So I will place the orders but until the package actually arrives, I won't know what came. Hope that makes sense. Rob
  10. Hello, Okay I have gotten the go ahead from my partner to try and do a first "Test" Order. You can either post the part you need here or PM me or E-Mail me (monkeynugget77@hotmail.com). All I need now is someone to send them to. Any volunteers? If I can send them to one person it will save everyone tremendously on the shipping. Otherwise shipping will start at $10.00 and up. Here's the break down. I have a general idea of what everyone will be needing. I am only going to work on broken pieces this time. In the future we may try to do the up-grade stuff. I want to send an order in to Yamato within the next 2 weeks. That will give everyone a chance to get thier order in. On top of the part price we need to charge and additional $2.00 service fee a max of $10.00. For example if you order 2 parts the fee would be $4.00 on top of the parts price. If you order 15 pieces then the total would be $10.00 on top of the parts price. This is for my partner who will be dealing with the Service Department. And trust me it is not an easy task and requires alot of patience (ALOT OF PATIENCE). I am still unsure of the 1/60 line and I will find out on Monday when we call them. I will post all updates in this Thread. I hope this can go smoothly and it can last for awhile. Rob MN
  11. Hello All, I don't mean to be rude but can you please only post the parts you need. This way I don't have to sort through a ton of OT posts. Thanks Rob MN
  12. Yep that's a Dougram alright. Dime a dozen here in Japan...well not a dime but about $8.00. Rob MN
  13. Anytime you need that call made...just give the word and I am all over- it.

    1/48 Line

I personally don't own a 1/48 (Well I kinda do..long story). But I would LOVE THE VE-1 in 1/48. It would be amazing. Rob
  15. Hello, I can no longer get parts from Yamato. They just won't give them up. Sorry. Rob MN
  16. Talk to BlackAces. He has a shop there. He is also a member here. Send him a PM he has all kinds of Rare and New Macross items. You wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to visit the best Macross Dealer in Asian B) Rob MN here's a link with Directions: Wonder Showcase - Black Aces
  17. Thank you for all of the B-Day Wishes (Sniff). And my apologies to 1 VF-1 2NV, for slightly taking over his great thread! Rob MN
  18. I got all of my personal Macross Toys from my store. Now my inventory of Macross Rarities comes from Conventions, Yahoo Japan, various shops in Downtown Osaka (Nipponbashi - to be exact). But mostly Yahoo. Rob MN
  19. Whats a sock monkey? Man I am getting Old (BTW today's my Birthday ) A sock monkey is ..well a monkey made from socks. Add button eyes, fill it with stuffing and add smaller filled socks for arms and legs and poof a sock monkey. (Preferably made with clean socks <_< ) Rob MN
  20. Max J, I owe you an apology. I did over react to the whole stituation. I think it was just an accumulation of various events that happened that day. It was just the straw that broke the perverbial camel's back. I usually take thing is stride and don't think too much about it. Everyone is right and I went alittle crazy over this situation. My apologies. Rob MN
  21. Max J, At the time I saw it, it took me alittle by surprise. I don't mind the fact that my pic was removed. And it is my own fault for not reading the rules more carefully. And as for getting the same treatment as everyone, well after I noticed that it was gone and check this section, I noticed there were still members with pics in thier sigs that post alot more often than I do. Writing something that made it look as though I had wrote it myself. That is what I ddin't appreciate. If someone added something to your signature without you knowing it you would be alittle irritated as well. And that would go for anyone. A simple "Sorry - No pics allowed." would have been more appropriate. Or just simply delete the pic. No comments necessary. A simple PM saying "Hey no pics please change it", it would have even saved you some time. Rob
  22. To the Moderators, I apologise for having a pic in my signature. And thank you for saving me the time in taking it off myself. But you deleted the text and the pic and added, in my opinion, a "smart" comment that stayed there all day. I can understand that the Boards are in chaos right now. If something was wrong, just delete it or send me a PM to tell me to remove it myself. You don't have to put comments in my signature that make me appear as if I am stupid or something. You could have left the text which had nothing to do with the pic, and saved yours comments. You made it look as though I wrote that myself. I don't appreciate that. Rob MN
