Just to add a few thoughts to this thread: 1) No one is holding a gun to anyone's head here to buy any of these toys. Don't buy it at all or wait until you can buy it cheaper. 2) Yamato wanted to make it so these 1/48th Valks could have swappable heads, but Big West shot that idea down. 3) The Hikaru VF-1S will have all the improvements done to the 1/48th series... thus it is a different toy then the Hikaru VF-1A from almost a year ago. 4)People (like me!) are glad that the Hikaru VF-1S is being made a reality by Yamato especially since Bandai gave us the chaff.

I got my Macross game today. After two hours of straight gameplay, I will have to say that this is THE greatest Macross game EVER made! Since I have all the US releases of AM2's Aerodancing games for the Dreamcast (Aerowings) and PS2 (Aero Elite), I immeadiately went into the options and set the controls to "NORMAL" and went with Type A... this way, the L1 and R2 buttons act as the rudders for yawing left and right like on a real plane (FINALLY... somebody put this feature in a Macross game!) while the L2 and R2 control transformation. Still getting use to the control schemes for Battroid and Gerwalk, but I am liking the way this game handles, looks, and sounds. One of the nice touches in the space levels is that that there are yaw/pitch jets on the wing tips (just like you would need for manueavering in space). For those still contemplating getting the game, I would highly recommend it!

It's pink... For some reason it reminds me of prune juice! Graham It looks like SDFcommander's flash is causing the color to turn out a little different. Otherwise the color is floating somewhere between a dark purple or a dark brown (I guess that would be kind of like prune juice! ).

Reading over the labeling on the case, the PS2 Swap Magic Discs are just for PS2 GAMES (either originals or backups) and not PS1 imports or import DVD movies. I should know tomorrow if my Macross game works. TLW, is the Swap disc you are using, is that for PS1 games and are you using it on a PS1 or a PS2?

I haven't gotten my Macross game yet, but I did get my flip top case and the Swap Magic (V2.00) discs along with the Magic Slide Card (which of course is now unneeded ). Fliptop case has now been installed and my system is up and running again. Since I have a few Region 2 movie DVD's and a handful of import PS1 games, I decided to give them a spin. When I try playing a R2 movie, the "Insert Screen" shows a pink border and the star field freezes. When I try a Japanese PS1 game, the pink border appears around some of the edges, but the star field continues to fly by. When I stick a US PS2 game in and hit X, a blue border appears briefly and the game quickly begins. Am I correct in that the Swap Magic discs only play PS2 DVD and CD GAMES (either originals or backups), but they won't play other region movies and import PS1 games?

When I got my Mospeada set from Best Buy back in June, it was for $60.

Bandai has undoubtedly changed the Zeta merchandise release to better coincide with Zeta's video release next year. But yeah, I got a hankering for some Zeta toys myself!

Perhaps the YF-19, YF-21, SV-51, anf VF-0 are available as part of a download (either to unlock the above VF's or to download the code to the PS2's harddrive)... wasn't there suppose to be an online aspect to the game? I should have my copy and the means to play it in 2 to 3 more days!!!

I just put my preorder in with ncsx.com. This will be my first video game import I've bought in nearly 3 years (Macross M3 was my last)! B) BTW, what online store is the most reliable for ordering the PS2 Slide Card? Also what's this about Gamestop carrying a "legal" boot disc for imports in a few more months??? For those who are asking about Bandai releasing this stateside, I asked somebody from Bandai about this a month ago. They are quite aware of Macross' popularity here in the US and the demand for this game, but unfortunately, until this Harmony Gold situation is settled, it ain't happening.

Simple ADV: Large player in market Animeigo: Niche player in market ADV simply has larger market share and links with retailers than Animeigo. Cyc Sometimes I have to wonder if Animeigo was the best choice to have released Macross because of this. Mospeada and Southern Cross are a lot less popular and a lot less recognized then Macross, but yet the DVD sets for those two series have been appearing at a lot more stores (like Best Buy) and at much more economical prices then the Macross DVD sets. Animeigo pushing its Macross DVD's outside of the internet market has been kind of abysmal. This seems to add to the conspiracist theories that Harmony Gold is trying to keep Macross, even the TV series it has rights to, buried from the public.

I picked up my Southern Cross set from a Best Buy last night. Hopefully I'll get it watched in the weeks ahead.

Soooo.... 1) What's the best place online to order the game right now. 2) What's the cheapest and simplest way to play it on a US PS2 without tearing the system apart? I see that you get to play as part of Apollo Team... MY Team!

He probably saw one at the Anime Expo last year... I know the Harmony Gold people were trying to "rough him up".
