A really nice 1/60 '19 and '21 would go down reeaaalll well with a 1/60 Monster, don't you think? I too skipped on the 1/72 FPs. Somehow, I still think a 1/48 version is not impossible - Bandai has managed to design, produce and market some pretty big kits and toys over the last 2 years: 4-feet tall Zaku, anyone? (It sells!), 1/144 Dendrobium? 1/400 White Base? So Yamato can conceiveably go the same route. The only question is price... If a 1/48 VF-11B can promise better tailfins and fit/finish - I'm sold twice over because I'd get a really improved 1/60 too.

the dendrobium is nice..... I do have this..... glad I have it, am I happy bout what I paid for it....... Nope! This will proabably be the case with the monster.... and if they make 1/48 macross plus valks..... you know if they stagger the realeases of the macross plus valks by 3 to 5 months, giving us time to recover our money, then it would not be so bad, but if they pull a once a month release on a 1/48 line of valks....... <_<

1/48 isn't impossble, but is insane.....

I don't know if this has been adressed yet but how many of these suckers are they gonna make, 4 1/48 valks are already out 3 with I thought a production run of 15000 each, the low viz being an unknown number. So what are they going to do? make at least 45000 1st run?

1/48 all the way! Someone did say after all the 1/60 th scale is all said & done for the DYRL series including enemy mechs & destroids that the perfered scale for Yamato will be 1/72 and 1/48. I don't know why everybody is complaining about size when the 1/60th Quad Raus will probably tower over the 1/48 YF-19. Even 1/60th Monster will take up more real estate than a 1/48 yf-19.

well alot of us don't feel the need to buy a monster, personally I can live without a monster (major denial here) but I want a nice YF-19 at a reasonable price and easy to display. last I saw the Q-rau was only slightly taller than a Vf-1 1/48, the YF-19 and expeciaslly the YF-19 in the anime was bout the same size as zentradi armor.

It has happened the more advanced of two lines developed side being canceled even after early production for budget reasons. Also I know nothing bout VF-X, How cannon is this game considered?

VF-X and VF-X-1 are not games (well , there´s a game called VF-X but it has nothing to do with this) but rather the prototypes used to test the VF-1 desing.

Where are these things refrenced? I am not up on my macross history

Think of it this way people, ever see those pretty concept cars full of advanced dohickys on the showroom floor but you never see make mass production? Well thats the VF-0 for you. It was directly said the VF-0 is a test bed prototype limited run series. Its probably a very expensive prototype made to test out the variable frame that would eventually be adapted for the VF-1, a later but less advanced series of fighters. for those pointing out how the VF-0 uses fuel and not nuclear jets also remember they mention the VF-0 was supposed to have nuclear jets but had to make due with regular fuel cause of a shipping delay (just like my fast packs! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr), VF-0 highly advanced proto type. VF-1 a less advanced production series.

Now, this is the thing I don´t get.

How could the VF-0 possibly be a damn prototype of the VF-1 if the VF-1 was one step away from being released from the production lines and the VF-1 airframe and design features were already tested by the VF-X and VF-X-1 series !? If anything the VF-0 draws/copies the design of the VF-1. It would be very foolish if we assumed the VF-0 was an older model than the VF-1 simply because of the numeration of the valkyries...And don´t use that ¨oh the VF-1 could be considered a future fighter¨ argument because it doesn´t make sense.

Think about it , where did the UN get its basic design for most of the Pre-2040 valkyries ? the VF-1 ! where do you think they would get the design for a new testbed in 2008 if there´s no other variable fighter design apart from the VF-1 !? I mean , C´mon people isn´t it obvious ? I hate to put nostalgia and sentimentalism aside for once but not because I love the VF-1 am I going to assume there´s no space for a early development of a fighter during a time which until now was completely empty in the continuity.

And the idea that the VF-0 is or looks more advanced than the VF-1 is just ridiculous, if people can´t see beyond the animation improvements of later series then there´s nothing we can do to help them. How difficult can be to accept the VF-0 could just simply be a testbed for testing new armament system and stealth features for fighters like the VF-X-4 ?

When has it ever been stated the VF-1 even exists in macross zero? I don't remember ever hearing mention of its existence. for all you know it could be another 4 years till a VF-1 is even made. even if the VF-1 does exist, that still doesn't mean the VF-0 predates it. The VF-0 still could be a predecessor that is being passed out on a limited basis while waiting for the VF-1 to get into full scale production. Just because both fighters may possibly co-exist in the current area of the VF-0 time line does not mean they were built side by side. I still feel the VF-0 was built 1st with the VF-1 following it. though I do agree with you aegis, people should not confuse more advanced animation for a more advanced fighter.

I got mine at otakon for 15 bucks.

What I think we need is Kawamori to add a VF-1 to Macross zero, make it go through a detailed transformation process that emulates the Yamato 1/48 and also have the same proportions of the yamato, minus the teeny hands. and call that version the definitive envisionment of the VF-1

Of course doing this would still make people unhappy, but still its straight from Kawamori himself! So live with it. So many people want the valk to be what they want it, not how its creator kawamori envisions it. Same can be said of Lucas and star wars, though the new prequals are really bad and I feel Lucas should have called it quits whiile he was ahead, macross zero has lots of potential and what I saw of the first two episodes left me wanting more.

Don't get me wrong, I love the actual toys yamato makes, but the sticker sheets, the stickers are waaaaay to thick. Has anyone made water slides or dry transfer sheets?

Well its not a toy, its not meant to look good, its meant to help people who can't walk walk. While certainly in a primative stage this is a move in the right direction. Its good to see the power suit a reality and not a dream any more.

While I would rather them use 1/60th for a large scale YF I would take a 1/48 scale one. All I say is yamato, don't make an intermediate line, I don't want you to make a 1/60th only to make a 1/48 later. either announce the two scales togeather, offering a 1/60th or 1/72 for people strapped for cash and then a 1/48 to be released along side it. Graham if you are listening relay this to Yamato. We want any macross plus valks in either 1/60th or 1/72. !/48 is insane. It is not even a matter of money anymore with their stuff its a matter of space!!!!!!

On a side not what do you think a 1/48 scale Mac + valk would cost? 175? 200? 300? If it hits the 300 celing forget it!

In my opinion this piece does not worth that money.. it's not complex and it was based on an old modelkit.. I'll leave it to only my gakken.

Actually Kin I think that is an original sculpt, it was only rumored it was based of the old model kit, but look this one over and it is sleak and lean as opposed to the beefy and fat model kit

Hey all I want to order some parts for my yamato 1S. I was looking through the parts list that was provided with the toy and was wondering bout the shoulder parts, it lists the shoulder as one unit, not two seperate halfs, if I were to order this part would the polly caps come with it? also the cockpit on mine is loose in the parts list it looks like the count the whole body unit as one part.

Yeah I purchased a lot long while back and was happy to find many of them were the rarer varients, a Matsushiro JF, and ton of pre-rubsign bots. Hey are pre-rubs on the 2nd series very rare? I thought rubsigns were on them all by this time but I got several series twos without rubsigns.

Guys, just look at carefully the position of the wheels on Masterpiece Prime as a robot and as a truck, then we can guess the transformation will be a bit different from the 1980 's G1. We'll have to turn its waist at 180 °...

yeah thats been pointed out. What I am more curious about is where all the parts slide in and out on the chest.

You know....I'm thinking that a 1/48 YF-19 might just be a little too much Valkyrie. I like big scale models and toys, but that might just be pushing it.
