Well at least we now know that the music won't be as good. Then again, it was gonna be mission impossible to sound like the first adaptation.

Well, the OP and ED maybe, but the BGM and themes are being done by Hiroyuki Sawano and this guy knows how to do an epic score.

Tamashii stages are made for HMR Valks...the Trident one mentioned works excepionally well for the VF-2SS and all the accessories.

Now what is this Mirage HMR you are talking about?...

Me being mistaking the DX version for a HMR version... granted it would be nice to get one, but in this case my fast typing is confusing.

  3. So got my first HM-R in a second hand VF2SS from @aaajin, he was nice enough to give me an Action Base as well.

vf2.jpg.b9458ddf7eb2a8f534368fd2ffe553ba.jpgNow I have a question, what base is suggested to mount the mini gunpods this thing comes with? Also later I'm going to try to mount this thing in fighter mode, am I going to have issues and if so once again, what stand would be best for these HM-R Valks since I'm planning on getting Mirage later.

Glad to see so many people are still on this game.

I am hoping this game gets popular enough to spawn new merch.  I am down with just phone wallet, charms and what not.

If you are on FB and haven't already done so. Try to join the Uta Macross Smartphone Deculture - International Gamers group. Almost 1K members as of this post.

Finally done with Knight's & Magic. I don't like how the narrator spoils future events, though. And it seems stuff goes too smoothly for the MC. I like the mecha though :D

Now I like slice and life, but Ancient Magus' Bride was just too slow for me. Do things get more exciting in the later episodes?

Magus Bride doesn't really speed up as it's more of a nice walk in the park speed throughout the series.

Hayate's "Immelmann Dance" basically got forgotten after about episode 6, and he only really used it like twice.  Once in that borrowed VF-171 and once when he took Freyja out in his new VF-31J when Messer came after him and threatened to shoot his ass down.

Also, bioroid?  Someone's got a bad case of Southern Cross.  That's a terrible illness, we hope you make a speedy recovery by watching a mecha series that's actually good. :p

I just recently got the first vol of Delta andam going to work on getting the rest over time now that I have funds. Hopefully adding to the sales and crossing fingers they might try a re-release of the other series in this format.

    And meant battlroid, my apology

    Let's see...

Mazinkaizer SKL has several gun kata sequences lifted right out of Equilibrium, which show up whenever Ryou has control of the SKL.  (Made slightly goofy by the realization that he's miming that crap in the cockpit with a pair of arcade console light guns.)

Lockon Stratos indulges in some gun kata-esque combat shenanigans when he's forced into close quarter combat in Gundam 00 since his fallback weapon for that sniper rifle was a matched pair of GN beam pistols on both of his Gundams.

Macross II: Lovers Again had a brief sequence that was up that alley when Cpt. Nex upgrades to the Metal Siren during the last big space battle of the OVA.  He starts out using a single gunpod but unlimbers the second shortly thereafter.  It's a pretty short sequence tho.  I'm trying to recall if there are any cases of the VF-22 using both gunpods at once in the Macross 7 series.

Full Metal Panic! has some occasional sequences like that on the part of the real top-flight AS pilots, though I think the only one who goes two-handing is Mao and only when she's doing mecha paintball against Tessa in the first season.  Most of their mecha combat is more acrobatic or actual mecha kung-fu tho.

Stella, Sting, and Auel do some straight-up gun kata in Gundam SEED Destiny during their theft of the prototypes, but they don't do it in a mobile suit.

Does Father Tres in Trinity Blood count?  He's not doing it IN a mecha, but he IS a mecha... well, an android.

Only series I haven't seen is Mazinkaizer SKL so I'll hunt that one down later. Thanks.

Macross Delta's dogfight scenes are only crap because they spend the whole goddamn budget on Walkure.

A more balanced show is going to have better dogfights.

So I start a semi-rewatch of the series as the blu-rays arrive... memories from my first watch through I don't remember much of the mecha combat, but man if Hayate had gotten a few more chances at his bioroid dancing in the vf-31 we could have gotten something close to gun-kata in a mecha.

On that note anyone know of a series I can see that type of mech-fu action in play?

Sheryl’s new costume for the Sexy Monsoon event is quite easy on the eyes.

I’m about half way from unlocking it.

And Mikumo's dropped today... looking sweet, just wish I hadn't used my orb backstock on the gacha.

While I can appreciate the idea, turning my brain off enough to enjoy Wing Commander would require shutting down some vital background systems, like the ones keeping me breathing and pumping blood.

On the plus side, I don't think TLJ was anywhere near as bad as WC.

No, but it's close. Honestly I think my old room mate either broke or re-inforced my bad movie tolerance with his Room marathon.

Well this guy sums up that its not the film theories that killed the SW franchise

Generally like this guy, but yeah. Nailed it on the head as I was guilty of this when the film released. After viewing I kicked the lore to the curb (like the movie did) and it just wasn't too good.

After thinking I'd though TLJ in with my pile of popcorn flicks like Jupiter Ascending and Wing Commander. Pretty to watch and turn my brain off while viewing.

  11. On a more topic related line, seems that my group has solidified our weekly viewing:

Monday - Made in Abyss (only to ep 4 and already seeing the decent into the darkness)

Thrusday - Ancient Magus Bride season 2, Overlord season 2, Junji Ito Collection and Darling in Franxx

AMB seems off beat as I mentioned earlier, hope it rights itself soon. Overlord is looking good, I could have done with out the lizardman mating call though. Junji is meh for me, but horror was not really that scary or appealing to me. Darling is well, Trigger doing what Trigger does.

SP only has one or two good episodes a season. Pretty sad. Did they just stop caring or what?

Well it becomes hard to satirize something that satirizes itself. As meta as it seems, our world (at least the US) is pretty close to that of South Park.

That or after over 20 yrs they may have just run out of ideas or just in a slump. Last season was pretty decent.

As Seto said... there's A LOT!

Glossary that I use in translations (far, far from complete, but contains disambiguation - as different translators have used different words for the same thing over the years): http://monkeybacon.mywebcommunity.org/Glossary.php

TOC for the aforementioned Macross Chronicle glossary (some explanations translated, all terms in English; NO disambiguation): http://monkeybacon.mywebcommunity.org/MCRglossary/MCRglossary.php

    Enjoy your 'lite' reading!

Oh gods, you and @Seto Kaiba just accelerated the process... welp better get this over with. *bookmarks glossary*

  14. Ok, because this may come up in my local group soon..

Noticed in Delta and a bit in Frontier the, I'm guessing, expletives of de-yuk and de-culture. While I'm guessing this is like the Frak of BSG I've hear deculture used in positive and negative tones. Is this just a catch all or do these two have like a hierarchy?

Also any other franchise specific terms the characters might use would be nice to know prior to my marathon of movie later.

Saw Lord Marksman and Vanadis. Good story, good characters, cute girls ;)

It's worth checking out. It finishes on a good point, but there's more content that could be made into a season 2, if the universe will allow it...

Much like another niche favorite of mine (Irregular at Magic High School), this series has potential for a second season. Also I did enjoy Lord Marksman as well, Tigre is what a good harem MC should be.

However like Irregular, if you want more of the series you'll have to go after the light novels/manga for more. In the case of Lord Marksman the anime is volumes 1-5 of 18.

I read somewhere before that it’s not easy changing the account just by swapping memory card.  You’ll always need to ”reformat” your PS Vita / PSTV every time you change your memory card.  Is this true?

This is correct, it's why it's suggested to do a backup on the card and mark which is for which region.
