The QA is really only part of the weirdness, sadly. Some releases have been very nice, like the Excelsior and ST VI Klingon BoP, but the design, assembly, and painting have been all over the map on some others. I only display the TOS 1701 facing one way because the screw plugs on the right side are so ugly and huge, and the materials and lighting used on the TWOK 1701 are massively problematic, because the whole hull of the ship lights up from the plastic being so transparent, and the lights being obnoxiously bright... except for the deflector array and impulse engines, because those were painted black.
I have the 1701A and it's just fine, luckily it seems. Since I see there is an E I've been debating on getting it, but my mantle is getting crowded.

Sweet looking Valhalla!
And those ships from the BSG Deadlock game looking very cool. I especially like the Adamant. And the Jupiter class are different in it, in that they have extra pod arms and different armor lay-outs.
The Adamant is the work-horse of my current playthrough.... might be neat to make one.

A lot of fans mistake the polarized covers over the sensor lenses on the noses of 5th Gen VFs for a fold quartz fitting. Those are just protective covers for various infrared, laser, lidar, and other high sensitivity sensors, and have been depicted in green, a few different shades of blue, red, pink, and purple.
That might have been where I was getting my colours too. Well that was informative.
-
So a question: Does Fold Quartz have a specific colour?
From memory I've seen blue, pink, and green but not sure if that might have just been a container for the quartz or the actual colour of said material.

Love the look of the Pegasus even more than the nuGalactica!
But as Han would say, "I've made few special modifications myself..."
The head has been cut down and she has full size flight pods top and bottom (whereas the original kit has smaller pods on the bottom side), along with doubled-up Viper launchers sandwiched in between.
Like the mods you did. I've built both the nuGalatica and the Pegasus kits. Pegasus is my fav of the two. Seeing this and with me having an extra nuGalatica kit I might (as in on the drawing board of my many, many, maaaannnyy other modeling projects) see about converting it to one of the mini-battlestars from the deadlock game. Just have to figure out which one...

I looked there, but the data upload button seems to be missing on newer versions of the game
Ok, so from the options screen, tap the highlighted button.
You'll get this window which asks if you want to restore data.
Which you get this confirmation window just verifying and warning that it may take a few minutes to download your files, since it's getting all the plates, costumes and basically all the earned content back.
Just make sure you linked your facebook/LINE/Twitter account prior.

Swap "photon torpedo" for "speaker pod" and you're there. Remember what he did to Gepernich's command center? Parked a speaker pod the size of a double-decker bus right through his wall.
Ok, I only got thru the recapture of the Island ship.. when did this ^ happen and where can I find a decent version to watch this insanity.

As much as I love Macross, if we end up with a Macross version of Nekopara I am officially out.
Like the song goes:
I would do anything for love, but I won't do that.
Considering the Voldarians were reallly close to a rip on Cat Planet Cuties, I think we scratched that itch well enough.
QuoteWould that be a bad thing? I'm not really a Gundam fan but some of the skirmishes and space battles I've seen in (for example Gundam 00) were absolutely beautiful.
Why not up the eye candy in Macross?
Not really, but outside of an OVA I don't see it working too well, pretty much for all the reason Seto has mentioned. Also as for the space battles in Gundam, as one that has seen almost a dozen Gundam series, their formula has changed very little over the decades. As you get more exposed to it you'll start to see the patterns.

So this series popped up recently in another thread and was wondering if anyone knew which streaming service might be showing this?
Googling just gives me dailymotion which I will look at later.

I get your points.
However what I mean is why not give the Earth humans a break and give Zentradi a chance to be the main protagonists. I'm thinking something like a Republic Commando/Roughnecks Chronicles/Clone Wars/Imperial Military personnel type story where we follow a Zentraedi battlegroup in its campaigns. If we absolutely must have humans then it could a friendly Zentradi faction with an attached Valkyrie squadron (a reverse Pixie squadron if you will) scouting ahead for a human exploration fleet or something.
The Zentraedi (in fact most aliens depicted in fiction) are close to human enough that we can identify with them. In fact its even easier to identify with them due to the general lack of unwanted/controversial social/pc issue baggage that makes it so hard to like humans.
Now I know this is a very unlikely premise, but it certainly would be a change of pace.
(As to Star Wars, well the Galactic Empire/Clone armies never got old for me and never will. What did get old was Rebels-must-always-win schlep where X-wings blow up Star Destroyers and virtually all the Imperial officers other than Thrawn are incompetent.)
So you want Gundam in the Macross universe, but with Zentraedi instead of humans.

On the note of planning, anyone from out of state that has done prior cons, I'm up for advice in doing this cross-country trip, including the best hotel for this for someone without a vehicle.

I think it's interesting that the SOLO falcon appears to have a double layer of armor, or at least an outer skin.
If you pay attention to the gun turret area, you'll notice that it appears far more recessed than on the Falcon we're familiar with. That and also we can see greeblies peeking through between the solar panel/smokestack thingamabobs. Also, the saucer appears to have a slightly larger diameter, presumably also extra bodywork.
And the nose-cone is the cargo container...
...Which would explain this nifty upcoming toy feature.
So in some ways, the Falcon is like the Galactica.
Well frak me.... ok, my prior statement just got removed. Granted this gives the movie credit before viewing, but that would have been neat to see on screen.

Just watched the trailers on the previous page, and as someone who wouldn't self-identify as a Star Wars fan and who has minimal experience with Star Wars works outside of the films, it left me more curious than anything.
I'm definitely getting a bad feeling about casting Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. He does manage to look a bit like a young Harrison Ford, but from the trailer doesn't seem to have a grip on Han's mannerisms. He's more smug than snarky, which I suspect is gonna get old really fast. More a Chris Pratt than a Harrison Ford, attitude-wise. Donald Glover looks like he's going to make a good Lando Calrissian though, he has that self-assured grin that was Lando's thing (when he wasn't shitting bricks in front of Vader) in Empire. No idea who the rest of them are supposed to be, except Chewbacca. I don't know if I'm supposed to know either. That Imperial recruiting officer looks so thoroughly bored-bureaucrat that I almost want to see the movie just to see how Han'll ruin the poor f*cker's life. (I vaguely recall something about Han having been a veteran in the old lore, like he was still wearing his old uniform trousers with the stripe or something?)
The visuals are really pretty, but that's kind of par for the course. Seeing the Millennium Falcon looking pristine inside and out is just bizarre. Four Star Wars movies kind of gave me the view that the Millennium Falcon just sort of sprang into existence as a beat up old junker covered stem to stern in grease and grime. I actually kind of like the new design for the ship though. Aerodynamics are meaningless in space, but with the tuning fork prow filled in and with the blue-on-silver paintjob it looks more like something that was designed to go irresponsibly fast. Like a space formula racer or something. I was never super clear on how the Falcon was supposed to be a freighter when it seems to have almost no cargo space.
The stripe is an honour mark of the Corellian navy, at least in the old EU.
As for the ship, it shouldn't be the falcon nor even a YT-1300 class, at least not by current (as in pre-Solo, post Disney buy-out) canon. But not surprised that Disney would re-con it's own properties considering the end of Rogue One after thinking about it. I would give them massive props if the toys are mis-labeled on purpose to capitalize on brand identity for pre-sales so that they don't give away movie info prior to it's release. But doubt it.
The YT-1300 has a bit of cargo space, this is one of the few times that the tech manuals show more then what is seen on film. Technically there is cargo space in most of the saucer section the two circle prongs on the side are cargo doors.

Isn't she the reviewer the same guest who was with you in the podcast? The review makes many of the same points.
Good podcast guys (a tad long though!!).
Yup.

Comparing the review on ANN with the speaker podcast they're in agreement. So a B- overall, according to both the Speaker podcast and ANN, is eminently watchable it's just not groundbreaking. That's actually amazing considering the source material.
It should be mentioned that the writer of the ANN review was in the Speaker podcast that the guys gave their own review. She literally states she pretty much verbalized her article.

There are a set of bonus missions that unlock after you S some of the story missions, but that shouldn't stop you from getting the campaign limiter as you only need to complete the two main story lines.
If it is a bug, uninstalling and reinstalling the game might fix it. To be fair, Scramble isn't that hard on the Xoas side and the Windimere side only a little bit harder since you don't have an Ex-Makina for support. Best to use one of the twins for health early and then switch to Bogue for his unlimited ammo ability in the final fights.
So redoing it isn't too hard as long as you haven't ground out ever mecha and thier limiter unlocks.
-
Ok, I have to check my game later, but this might help...
In the store make sure you have purchased all three of the limiters (fourth selection in the store), if any of the options are grayed out then tell me which ones (ie the first, second and or thrid, going from left to right)
Next to use the YF-30 you need to have bought it. If you have it your good, buying all the valks does earn you a trophy, but otherwise not needed to unlock them. I only know this because I was able to use the YF-19 in all the mission to earn credits to buy said valks.
Honestly to get the campaign limiter you only need to beat the two story modes and not even at S rank.

So beat all the missions will all S/SS rankings and I am confused, as to why the game hasn't given me the option to buy the valkyrie unlock for the campaign. How do you unlock it?
As in the Limiter options? Did you complete all the bonus missions too?

The two newest are Macross Delta Scramble for the Vita/PSTV and the unoffical Macross Homeworld Mod. Otherwise not at this point, but once the new series starts up it's advertising we should start to get wind of another title.
It's a good bet though that it will either be another Vita title or for the PS4 since there hasn't been an offical Macross title on the PC since the early '00

Mirage's set is going to end up quite expensive, I'm guessing, as it comes with the reaction missiles.
Though hopefully we get the rest of Delta squad with those as well.
Thing is that the image that shows just the super parts doesn't show the reaction missiles. So are the reaction missiles another promo piece or are they included in the set.\?

EDIT: I have to say, after all the fuss and noise about how popular Walkure supposedly is, there's very little in terms of official publications, doujinshi, and fan art for the Macross Delta series. I'm honestly surprised that the disparity is so huge compared to Macross Frontier. Almost a literal order of magnitude difference at the least.
Been thinking on this.
So in the case of not much dojins, might it be that there is more than enough waifu-bait out there? If the info from the Speaker Podcast guys is correct, then Walkure is known more for their music then the anime and could explain lack of imagery. There is also the point that Delta was paper thin in plot and character development. In looking at Walkure individually there is little dojin material outside of Makina x Reina as Kaname is too straight and has little screen time, Frejya has the most but is so tied to Hayate that breaking the pair would seem sacrilege and Mikumo is a construct with one purpose, to sing.
Versus Ranka and Sheryl from Frontier which had way more depth and human emotion and I only saw the movies.
Walkure’s best and only major strength is their music, which is why their concerts are so packed.
