  1. Well finish the panel lines. Need to do some touch ups, but other then that I'm finish. Next I'm going to seal it, then apply the decals.
  2. Thanks, redfinger61 for the "looking good" comment. Ok started the panel lines. I like to use oil paint too. I use Winton oil color, I mixed black and white to get grey, then pour mineral spirits to make it like water and mix it up. Then I dip my paint brush and touch the panel line, if I did it right it should fill in the panel line all at once, then go to the next one. I usally wait for about an 1 hour, before I wipe it off. If I wipe off the panel line I just reapply the oil wash and do it agian, till it sticks.
  3. Had some time today to do some painting. First I sealed all the flat white with Model Master Lacquer Overcoat semi-gloss, then when that dried I masked off all the area that was not going to be painted, I made sure I masked everything off twice, I had problems with overspray (arghhh I hate overspray). I airbrush Alclad "steel" on all the parts that needed it, again if you haven't use this paint I highly recommand it. Next I peel off all the tape, came out pretty good. For the gun on the head, I airbrush Alcald "steel" then shade it with Alcald "Jet Exhaust", to give a look that the gun has been fired. Next I'll fill in the panel lines. Until then thanks for looking, and I hope your enjoying the step-by-step.
  4. Here I layout the battroid to get a better look at, it's going to look good once I apply the decals!!!
  5. Finish the shading on the flat white, I have to say I'm quit please how it turn out. Next I'm going to seal the flat white and light grey. Then do the panel lines, and finally apply the steel on the vents and guns on the head.
  6. Ok here I airbrush flat white XF-2 on all the parts that is white. I airbrush a very light coat of flat white, just enough to cover the primer. Next I airbrush light grey XF-66 for shade, may look ugly but when I go over it again with flat white it'll bend in better.
  7. Here I shade the metallic parts for the valkyrie. I use Alclad Jet Exhaust, came out very nice. I really like how the gun turn out!!!!
  8. WM Cheng, yeah after looking at that mesh, I'm going to go with something smaller for the vents. Well I found a website that sold Alclad Metalizers, let me say YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS!!!! This stuff works great!!!! Here I airbrush "steel" for the gun and vents and anything that is metallic. Next I'm going to airbrush some shade with "Jet Exhaust".
  9. Had time to work on the strike pack today. I seen this done by someone else before, and I thought it was a good idea. First I drilled with my pinvise a couple of holes, then took a very sharp x-ecto and cut from hole to hole. Then with my sharpe x-ecto I trimmed around the edges then sand. Here you see that I used a screen mesh for vents.
  10. I notice that too, the particles are big, really shows when you look up close the the model. After looking at that website I'm going to have to some of that Alclad!!!! Guess I need to strip that Metallic Grey today. Does anybody know where to buy them? I heard they are little high, but I also heard it's worth the price.
  11. Well I started to paint some parts. I'm using Tamiya paints. I'm using metallic grey (XF-56) for the feet and grill and anything that is metal. I used flat black (XF-1) for the little part and dry brush metallic grey around the grill. Looks good I like how it came out. Next I'll shade some detail after I finish using metallic grey.
  12. Yeah I saw that the wings is almost to the middle of the valkyrie. So before I drill any holes for the missle I'm going to do alot of taping to fit the wings and missle just right. Hope you can help, do you have any picture of your valkyrie?
  13. Next I started the missiles, again layed everything out and dry fit. Next I glue up the main missile, first I need to blend in the corners so I had to use putty, to make sure I don't sand off the little circle on the missile pods I cover it with masking tape, then apply the putty. I'm going to primer it to see how will the putty worked, if I need to I'll apply more putty. I need all four corners to look the same.
  14. Next I wanted the look of the movie DYRL valkyrie, the original kit had a piece that attached the armor on the arm. I cut that piece off and glue and sand it down to fit the arm. I'm going to glue the armor on after I finish the primer and the painting. For right now, I dry fit the pieces again. So far I'm liking what I'm see. It will look more like the movie version after I finish.
  15. Ok had some free time this weekend. Going slow on this kit. Still working on the booster for the fast pack, had to dry fit before I glue it up. As you can see I layout the parts then dry fit. Man their is alot of small booster for the fast pack. I sand down the nubs to smooth out, all I have left to do is primer.
  16. Ok had to see what the fast/strike pack is going to look like with the missile on the battroid. I'm going to have to change some parts around to fit the DYRL movie ver. This is going to look very cool !!!
  17. Well I started the Fast/Stike Pack. First I dry fit to make sure everything fits. I'm going to cut off some parts to fit the DYRL movie Battroid.
  18. I don't have to worry about those seams, only because once I put the fast/strike packs on they will be gone. Kinda cheating on that part, less work for me.
  19. I still have alittle more touch up left, mostly finishing the seams and reapplying the primer. Some seams I can let go because you'll never see them. Once I put on the strike pack. I figure I'll see what it's going to look like when put together. I think it's going to look good once I paint and apply the decals on this Battroid!!!! Can't wait to paint this guy!! I'm liking this kit more and more very detail!!!
  20. Ok had time to do alittle more to the kit this weekend. First I airbrush clear green to the visor. Then glued it up, then cover the visor with liquid blue mask to protact it from the primer. Then putty the seams around the head.
  21. Well I glued some parts together and I hate when this happens, when the parts don't fit together, all this means is more sanding In order to put the missile on the wings I had to use the wings from the figther kit, so it would fit better. Here I putty the seams and primer the other parts. [attachmentid=43192][attachmentid=43193][attachmentid=43194]
  22. Here is a very rough dry fit. So far I'm liking this kit, very detail and I haven't even touch the strike pack yet! [attachmentid=43109][attachmentid=43110][attachmentid=43112][attachmentid=43113]
  23. Next is the tail fins in the back. [attachmentid=43104][attachmentid=43105][attachmentid=43106] Finally the little parts by the head. [attachmentid=43107][attachmentid=43108]
  24. Yeah some of the parts are built weird, never the less it's still a great kit!! Next is the gunpod, very cool design, can't wait to paint this. Again I'm dry fitting all the parts first before I do anything else. [attachmentid=43099][attachmentid=43100][attachmentid=43101] Next is the hands. [attachmentid=43102][attachmentid=43103]
  25. Next dry fit the legs, man there are alot of parts for the legs !!! [attachmentid=43093][attachmentid=43094][attachmentid=43095][attachmentid=43096][attachmentid=43097]
