  1. the very obvious F-35 image with the main engine and 2 sub engines is an interesting take......I do not know of any variable fighter that has 3 engines....but I guess they were going for a "sci-fi" look.  Interesting aircraft carrier with tattoo's, ala the Mandalorian captured capital ship as part of their fleet in the Mandalorian show.

While the original Macross and all of its derivates will always be quintessential transforming robot show for me, I am one who always loves to see different designs, and if it means more transforming toys, that might possibly be of good/high quality, then I believe everybody wins in that scenario.  Just my $.02

Money?  Yes.  Superior work force?  Cannot say that's a given.  It would be an easy job for them if they cared to do it correctly.  That's the part I do not trust them with.

Even with all of the recent production and QA issues aside, their YF-21 had some serious issues to solve.  If they had strayed from the lineart in ways that improved the design, I would have probably been alright with it, but everything they did made it look worse.  They appear to be bound and determined to snatch failure from the jaws of success.

Sorry, to clarify, I was referring to numbers of employees, not necessary a larger amount of talent, then Arcadia, whom we know to be a small outfit.

That's a Legioss/Tread combo.  One of the landing gears is located in the boom that attaches both fighters.

I guess I didn’t see the TREAD in that perspective. I didn’t look at the link, just the image. Looks pretty cool though.

Is that like a some sort of interceptor, 2 seat version of the LEGIOSS?  It reminds me of the larger wing area of the VF-0C/D.  I have a question, why is the landing gear out, and why is there a landing gear right there?  It should be on the legs and the nose, not the crotch.  That is weird.

  5. I saw it yesterday in the theatre, despite 2 power outages and the sound being gone and several rewinds of the film, but I really enjoyed it and my 14 year old son was in awe.  I have some reservations on some of the statements and themes, but in todays society I guess it is par for course, and I want to avoid political conversation like the plague.

As someone hinted, there are definite signs that this could be the beginning of a larger cinematic universe.  Which, if it gets us more transformers movies.

  6. Just remember that the member Xiegfried made a 1/60 VF-9 variable fighter in resin, and that was nicknamed the origami fighter.  With the vastly superior monetary and work force that Bandai has, it would probably be an easy job for them.  Heck, they already went to the trouble of prototyping it.  As for Arcadia, they also do what others have suggested and improve on the existing mold from Yamato, granted that they purchased that mold.

    Dear sunrise/kawamori-san....hire this man!!

    whoa...

In terms of the new animation, i feel that if macross would get a refreshed design ethos, perhaps some new ideas would spring up.

Something like gundam 00, where one could feel that gundam took a radically modern (in those days?) DNA to set its course over the next gen...

It looks like the Armored VF-1J has too many joints in its legs……I agree with your statement of that picture….whoa!

"AnimEigo's Robert Woodhead announced at the Animazement event last week that AnimEigo will launch a Kickstarter campaign for its release of the Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: The Movie original video anime (OVA) this summer. The company will reveal more details at its panel at the Otakon event, which will take place on July 28-30.

Bigwest announced in July 2022 that AnimEigo would release the anime on Blu-ray Disc. Woodhead previously revealed on Twitter at that time that its release of Macross II would be an HD transfer and not an upscale."

Animego did the SDF Macross release from the early 2000’s, didn’t they? I still have a copy.  What does HD transfer mean? It was made in early 90’s, was HD even a thing then?

That's actually the price point I would pay for the KO Vf-1. Those I'm suspicious it's so cheap with free shipping. I wonder if this will be one of those sellers that never ships and suddenly inactivates his account. Anyone you ordered one please keep us updated.

I received shipping notification, so who knows. I have my fingers crossed, last time I tried to buy a Valkyrie factory Valkyrie, I got a Lego man instead.

Fixed up the revival 25F a bit. Was originally just going to do a quick panel wash and call it a day, but then I kept going...  Was a fun, quick little side project though.

Whoops! Forgot to reinstall the rear seat when I was putting the fuselage back together and now I have to take the whole thing apart again just to put the seat in. <_< Fighter and gerwalk pics will have to wait till tomorrow...

I am impressed with the ability to get those tiny little stickers/waterslide decals on to your toy.  I am old and my hand is not steady enough, nor do my eyes possess the acuity to be able to see that small detail.  That is indeed a good looking VF-25F Messiah!

  11. I am very excited about the prospect of New Macross Animation!  It has been 7 years since the last series and 2 years since the last movie release from that series.  The thing that I would like is for there to be more mecha! Of Course!, but give information about those mecha.  I don't know if I am in the minority, but I would like full mechanical briefs on the mecha!  I am still waiting for a conclusive breakdown of the mecha from the last movie, the VF-31AX Kairos Plus, SV-303, Super Ghost Boosters/drones.  Also, I know this was a part of Variable Fighter Master File, but if it is cannon, give information on what the plans were for the VF-31X!  What sort of performance and stats would we see by adding 2 more thermonuclear reaction engines to the VF-31!

Also, since it is going to be tied to Bandai, Dont be stingy on the releases of the DX Chogokin/Hi-Metal R releases for the series!  I like the physical representations of the valks!

Oh my goodness, I thought I could detect some Zeta Gundam designs in there!  It is as if a VF-1 and a Zeta Gundam had a secret love child.  Then there is the other 2 variable mobile suits from Zeta Gundam.....the gaplant and the Messesla(sp?).  that takes a great deal of time and dedication to do that, is this a magazine publication, or is this a customizer doing custom add on parts for a VF-1S?

i've been on the fence about the draken, but would really like 262Ba in Mirage's colors, with a redesigned fully foldable sword and storage compartment for it in the shins, even if it needs to look a little ugly

anyway, here's a random guy's perfect transformation lego rendition of the 303 while we impatiently huff that hopium

go to the tweet and see his self replies for more images in each of the 4 modes

I too would rather enjoy a SV-262Ba Mirage Custom, might as well dream and have it come with the Lil’ Drakens too!

  14. I would like both a SV-262Ba and SV-303 to be made by Bandai in DX format, but I would even settle for a Hi Metal R version, as long as it is made!

  15. My Alto VF-25F from BBTS arrived today. I am impressed with it and really enjoy my initial experience with it.

I have a confession, I have never had fast packs for a VF-25 before. I don’t understand why some of the things that come off to be replaced by the exact same thing have to happen, but I can now say that I have.  With as fidgety as it was to get the legs, wings, arms and friggin shield to play nice together, I cannot imagine trying that with an armor pack, though if they release a box set with the VF-25S and Armor Pack, I will definitely want that for sure.

sorry for the ramble, just happy about finally getting this Macross Jet!

  16. I am enjoying Tears of the Kingdom, but for me, it seems that there is even less direction than what Breathe of the Wild offered to its players.  I enjoyed the heck out of BOTW, and I am about 20 hours into Tears of the Kingdom, but I have done absolutely nothing except gotten 2 heart containers and wandered around the depth for a while, but then wanted to get back to the surface because I was running out of supplies to go spelunking.  I agree that it is more of the same as BOTW, but I enjoyed the game and will enjoy this one, once I get some backstock of items.

I think that this game has the weapons have even less durability then in BOTW.  Which is frustrating to no end.

  17. Since everything seems to be Hayate focused with the releases of Macross Delta, if they managed to fix the issues with gaps and fit and finish with the re-release of Hayate's VF-31AX Kairos Plus, I might want to try to acquire it from BBTS.  I already have the VF-31AX Mirage Custom, but want something that doesn't attract my eye with the incongruent lines.

Looks awesome Twich! Your son did a great job on the decal. Nice! :good:

I'm currently helping my teenager son on his HG Zaku II Char. ;)

It was pretty awesome being a joint venture! Took me 3 days to build, and took him a week to take it all apart again and do the water slide decals and Panay lining/carbon scoring effects! He thought up the carbon scoring on his own after I explained why the joints had the “rubber” covering to keep the fine dust out of the mobile suit joints! He has only built Real Grade and High Grade Gundams so far, now he wants to try Master Grade. If I can convince the wife to let me get another Perfect Grade, I’m sure he would really add some awesome touches!

Enjoy building the High Grade Zaku II with your son, the real grade version of that mobile suit is pretty cool too!
