Let's hope that Nora does not have mismatched feet time.
After two screw ups with Ivanoff (both the Yammie and with the Arcadia), you hope that the assembly workers will have learned from the Ivanoff fiasco and not get it mixed up this time.
I can imagine them with flow charts addressing this matter.

The last thing Nora needs is a variable fighter with two left feet.
I can also imagine workers going home at night in tears after their reviews over the last run.
Poor guy/ girl curled up in the fetal position in their bed, quietly sobbing "Why can't I get those feet assembled correctly!!! I disgraced my whole team!!!'

Trying to guess Kawamori's direction is an exercise in futility... when he's really trying, he comes up with the weirdest sh*t and somehow makes it work.
I mean, c'mon... Macross 7 was "what if an indie band fought soul-sucking space kaiju vampires with the power of rock?". We've had stories about a retired idol who became a soldier and then an air racer. We had a stage musical that was a thinly veiled criticism of Japanese rearmament and the government's reassessment of Article 9. Macross Delta was a shot at rising nationalist sentiments explored through the antics of a middle aged 14 year old teenage runaway idol singer and an aerobatics team. Let's not forget the one that was literally "save the whales".
He'll come up with something that sounds completely insane on paper and he'll make it work somehow.
He's an arms dealer. The ancient Protoculture left a distressing amount of advanced military hardware laying around, some of which was so distressingly powerful that they themselves were afraid to use it. Not to mention his fascination with the battlefield applications of music, which he has not-unreasonable grounds to suspect might've been their ultimate weapon.
I just hope it's not "Milli Vanilli is the ultimate weapon" O.o

And come to think of it, I'm getting tempted on picking up some Toyhax sticker sets for Jazz, Sunstreaker, possibly more. They've got some really good looking upgrade stickers to help make those characters pop more than they do now.
Toyhax ended up being a bit too expensive for me; I found a way to print the labels onto clear decal paper and then apply them to foil tape. Cheaper that way and they look pretty good as well!

Thanks, Pengbuzz! The three dots I keep ignoring😄.
It's okay... it took me forever to figure them out, then today I forgot about why they are there until you asked (other stuff going on that has me tied up inside).
Not been having a good past few days... stressed, depressed and trying not to have seizures.

Oh, you don't have to tell me anything. I get what your saying.
As others have mentioned, MW members who hang out over there tend to keep to the Toyark and non-Transformers forums. I'll visit the site from time to time and browse around but I mostly stay in lurk mode these days.
Ha! You know, Masterpiece Convoy and Destron v1 do indeed have that upgraded G1 toy appeal. It's lamentable how these upgraded toy designs are few and far between at this scale. We've discussed it in this thread before, but it would be cool to see more Masterpiece figures that are inspired by the G1 toys and not just the G1 toon. I like both so seeing more of a balance from Takara would be nice. Imagine if MP Jetfire took a few more cues from the original "borrowed" Macross design without creating an IP disaster? Ah, if only! I do hope Skids isn't the outlier in this. It would be nice to see more MPs that lean into the spirit of the G1 toys. Anyway, I got into the Masterpiece line with MP-10 and missed all the v1 releases (although I did pay the late tax for Starscream and Grimlock back in the day).
Speaking of G1, my G1 toy collection is one of two small collections that I had as a kid that have survived mostly intact over the years. Sure, I lost my Soundwave and I had to restore broken accessories on Starscream, Defensor, and Metroplex, but otherwise most of my G1 toys are in good shape and I'm happy I still have them. I've been buying the Japanese reissues to replace missing toys (like Soundwave) and add a few that I didn't have back in the day (like Soundblaster, Thundercracker, and Skywarp). I also have three incomplete G1 Combiners that I've been thinking of finally completing.
Yeah, I'd like to see a G1 toy Optimus that is larger and better articulated, with better proportions.
1 hour ago, mikeszekely said:Oh! I misunderstood, then.
I'm that case, I have an extra reissue Soundwave with Ravage and Laserbeak...
lol It's all good; I usually buy the older vintage ones missing their accessories and just scratch build the missing stuff. Cheaper that way.

Huffer just came out not long ago. Heck, if you can't find him in your area I'm sure I saw a couple at Walgreens the other day.
For Reflector (or Refraktor now, because trademarks) GameStop is taking preorders for the toy-colored 3-pack Hasbro released two years back.
Soundwave will probably be a lot harder, though. The Siege version was ok, but the "spaceship" mode didn't really do it for me. I liked the Netflix version a lot better, but it seems like that one was pretty hard to get off you weren't lucky enough to get a preorder or find it in a local Walmart. Then, even if you found Soundwave you need the tapes, which were spread across multiple Micromaster packs and, frankly, kind of sucked. For my own display, even though I did get all the WfC tapes, I wound up getting a set of KO MP tapes. Although they don't fit in Soundwave I actually like the scale better for Rumble, Frenzy, and Ravage.
Thanks, but I mean the original 1984 collection, not Earthrise/Kingdom.

So, shrinking the original eye image on the canvas is your problem, because shrinking a bitmap will gradually degrade the image as pixels get averaged.
There are better ways to do this using vector drawings (which Paint cannot do), but what I would do is make your image in reverse. Start with the largest eye as your base, and then scale that one up to create all of your variations. That will result in a much larger pixel size for your base canvas, which will have to be scaled down to fit on the printed page, making the smallest eye at the same pixel density as your base image.
Bottom line is you need your base image to have more pixels. If you stick with Paint, take the bottom right corner of the canvas, and drag it down to the right (scrolling when necessary) until the image no longer fits on your screen, and then zoom out, then just fill it with scaled up copies of your original eye. You can see the pixel dimensions of your image on the lower edge of the screen, and I would probably start at around 3000 x 2000 pixels.
This is where your printer does come in. I think a typical printer's default setting is about 300 dpi? That's 300 pixels per inch, so for an 8.5 x 11 inch page, that's 2450 x 3300 pixels to start. That's probably the base size canvas you want to work on as a starting point if you don't want to see the pixels after printing.
I agree with you 100 percent: this is why raster-based artwork doesn't work too well scaled-down. As i think you recommend earlier, Inkscape would probably work better for Arbit, as vector scales down and up without those issues.

Sounds serious; whatever upset you, I hope it doesn't completely poison your enjoyment of the hobby.
As for me, this is my primary forum for discussing all things Transformers. I visit TFW2005 from time to time, but things get out of hand over there a bit too much, with little in the way of moderation; essentially too many unchecked self-entitled man-children with anger management issues with opinions that matter more than anyone else's. I tend to steer clear, at least clear of the Transformer discussions. I generally visit the Toyark forums for 52Toys stuff, LEGO, some Macross, etc. Those forums tend to be far more civil in their exchanges and respect for one another.
At the end of the day, it's your collection, and whatever your reasons for wanting to be quit of Transformers once you've reached your stated goal, I hope you continue to find joy in that. Transformers are such a huge part of my life, and while I'm not as fervent in my fandom as some, it brings me joy, and I suspect always will, regardless of the community or other factors. I'm just a bit saddened to see a fellow member put off to the hobby. In any case, I wish you every success in finishing your '84 collection.
It nearly did, but I decided that I'd rather relieve myself of the drama there and focus on what counts. And yeah: it's TFW2005 I'm departing (for the reasons you just stated). As to my collection: I just need Huffer for the Autobots and Soundwave, his cassette troopers and Reflector for the Decepticons, and that's it. I count Shockwave as 1984 because he made his first appearance in MTME and the toy had originally been planned for the '84 series release, so he gets "grandfathered" in. lol
(speaking of which: Looking right now for the "metal plates" for my G1 Optimus Prime trailer, to change it into the "bloated" version , as Ican't afford a whole new trailer, so searching for plates to glue in)
Now, to its' credit, Macrossworld has been pretty civil (much thanks to Sean, Graham and the folks here, mods and members alike!), and folks here have been very kind to me for the most part. I count this as home really for my online endeavors and really don't have to worry about much here.
18 hours ago, technoblue said:Finishing a G1 collection is a sweet goal.
But like @M'Kyuun notes, reading between the lines seems to indicate there's more going on, so yeah...do what you need to do to focus on yourself and your well-being first.
For my part, I'm constantly re-evaluating the end goals for my own Transformers collection. I guess it's become something of a priority again now that I'm knee deep in third-party Legends. My mainline collection is done, more or less. I cut it back to a bare minimum of favorite characters and I now only have Selects Galvatron coming to complete WFC. That's about it.
Oh! I am waiting on the rumors of the Transformers Prime redux releases. I'll give those a chance if they are done well. I've been enjoying the APC KO reissues.
My Masterpiece collection is getting close, but I'm still waiting on a few things. For instance, I'm keeping tabs on official MP news like Cliffjumper and Jetfire. I'm hoping we also get word of an official MP Galvatron for next year. In the third-party space, I'm waiting on updates about MMC's Defensor. I don't know that I need anything after these because at that point I'll have MP versions of most of my old G1 toys (plus some Diaclone extras).
You read correctly: a lot of unneeded drama and unmoderated nonsense that I'd really not like to recount here (for many reasons).
As for the masterpieces: after MP Prime and Megatron (V1 versions), they got way too expensive for me. I have those two, but really as icons of the series; I really prefer the G1 84 toys' look.

Same; besides that, my finances just fell apart anyways (and much of my life). So, this is no longer a priority for me.

After I finish my G1 1984 collection, I'm done. I just left a transformers site and frankly, not going to bother with anything new for Transformers anymore.

@pengbuzz Cool! Does it get sports and movies?
@electric indigo That shield is cool! Gonna be fun masking that and keeping the edges clean.
A bit of a review and build. Last month someone in our club brought in a glass file and showed me what a glass-like finish it can give to styrene. I looked all over and found them at Newtype. The brand I found is Infini Model. They have two sets (still in stock); small and large sized files. I got the "Large" set. https://newtype.us/t/tool/file The set of three is $24.95. That's about average since individual glass files are about $8.00 each.
My camera did not want to focus on it very well, but here is a 3mm shiny sprue tip with only the medium grit used, not the Fine and Superfine as well. The whole thing is SHINY like glass. Standard sandpaper will never do what these do, and in a few seconds.
The glass is cool because it is transparent too. You can actually see what you're doing. A little less with the finer files because they are more populated with cutting area.
So what are the files made of? I don't know for sure. My educated guess, they are heavily bonded stainless steel photo etch to the glass substrate. The files are VERY sharp! They recommend cleaning them with water. You can also wipe them lightly with a rag.
The files are glass, so I wanted to keep them in something safe. So what did I build? I built an old school box. Kickin' it in the 1890's old school box! I milled-out a small piece of oak.
And then made a slide cover out of that scrap thin piece I knew I'd need some day...
And all three files together.
Hopefully this review helps someone here out! I thought the files were that cool, so I took the time to post the review.
Back to the "twins" this weekend with shading and landscaping the diorama they'll go with. Thanks for checking in! - MT
Neat files! I'll have to look into those sometime!
And yeah: I can get sports and movies, but I have to change phones.
The old one I'm using has no service or movie player, although for display, i could probably record a Transformers episode and play that!
Next mod coming up: I'm going to find a cheap battery operated toy train with tracks and turn that into something automated for the base defenses. Stay tuned...
