it's nice that they come with effect parts too. ....
Very nice, that part sold me on the pre-order. Won't have to wait for an option set later on.

Bandai just gave everyone a good reason to pre-order the Metal Robot Spirits Freedom.
-
Woot!! USA Gundam Store shipped my Metal Build Freedom Concept 2!!
-
Nice! I haven't seen anything in my area and they haven't been showing up on Popfinder.

I can't wait for the official release! I have been loving the MB Crossbone Gundams and this one looks amazing. Kinda want to re-read the crossbone series again.
That is going to be a very late or early morning to get a pre-order in.

Did everyone get there pre-order in for Snake Supreme Cobra Commander?

DAMN that is a big piece! I was expecting it to be close in size with my Metal Builds.

Cima's Gelgoog (Robot Spirits) is available on P-Bandai US. Hopefully her marines will be a regular release.

Common question, but will ask again since availability/production of what's out there changes so frequently:
Suggestions for a cheap spray-can flat-coat? My best model ever was my MG Wing, but as I obsessively made it DEAD flat in every nook and cranny, that meant I did a full 3D-spraying of each piece of armor separately. And heavily. That was like, 3 cans of Tamiya TS-80. I don't want to spend/waste that much ever again, and I think Epyon would require even more spraying due to so many angles/separate pieces. (mist coats of TS-80 behave very differently than heavy coats, I found--heavy ones actually have a much more even, and flatter, final dried finish)
So, I'm looking for a "cheaper" way to get a dead-flat finish on MG Epyon (and my next Zaku). And I am leaning a bit towards spraying sub-assemblies, rather than every piece separately this time.
I recommend using Testors dullcote or Model Master flat coat. Both can be found at local hobby shops and should be cheaper than Tamiya. You might end up using 3 cans depending on the number of coats but both have given me smooth finishes. And I usually topcoat in sub-assemblies and haven't had any problems. It is alot faster than doing individual pieces.
Hope that helps.

Nice work as always, anubis. Out of everything, it's always your work on the tiny tiny figures that impresses the most.
Took another look at the Mercurius/Vayeate page, and it looks like there's some sort of preorder campaign going on; can anyone confirm? Seems to me Bandai are reissuing a whole raft of Leo/Maganac kits. If you order the Sandrock AND MnV AND one of the others, they'll throw in a "triple stand" action base. Dunno if this is limited only to P-Bandai Japan or if @BluefinBrands/PB USA will be getting in on this, too.
Kits being reissued:
- Leo Flight Type https://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000149523/
- Leo Space Type https://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000149524/
- Leo Full Weapon Set https://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000149527/
- Maganac Rashid/Abdul https://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000149525/
- Maganac Auda/Ahmad https://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000149526/
- Maganac 36-Machine Set https://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000149528/Promo page: https://p-bandai.jp/hobby/special-1000012123/
BBTS has pre-orders up for the HG Leo and Maganac re-releases. They are kinda expensive for an HG kit but an easy pre-order if you are looking for one.

Finished putting together my Haze'n-Thley II yesterday. The box says its a gundam but I am not too sure.
I was a fun build but definitely needs some paint to bring out the details. There really aren't any seam lines though, most are hidden as panel lines.

I might up re watching Gurren Lagann when this comes in. Haven't watched in two-ish years and it is one of my favorite anime series. Need something up beat in these gloomily days.

It isn't made by Bandai but it does have metal components. Looks so good, can't wait for mine to ship. And it's sooo shiny!!!

Have you tried using the Vallejo Airbrush Flow Improver (VAFI from here on)? Also what psi are you spraying it at? If it's not laying on smooth, it's because it's drying too quickly and isn't getting enough time to level. Instead of thinner, try the VAFI to slow the rate of drying so that it has more time to level. I also had the same issue until I started using VAFI mixed with the varnish.
Thanks for the help. Usually I spray around 15 - 17 psi depending on the paint. I do have the VAFI but didn't seem to help much so maybe the pressure was too high. What ratio (roughly) do you use clear coat to VAFI? Mostly I use a few drops until the paint looks thin enough.

Suuurre this goes up super fast on P-Bandai US but we are still waiting on the MG Hazel Owsla pre-orders.

They changed it again? I can't even remember what they called it before that. Each name change becomes less and less memorable.
I still have a bottle of it for it was still labeled as Future, but it's unlikely it will ever be emptied as I've switched to using the Vallejo Mecha line of varnishes for my gloss coating needs as it's tougher and more scratch resistant made specifically for applications that the name implies. Though I guess I would use Future for models with non-moving parts since it's cheaper to use by far.
I have been using Vallejo's Mecha gloss and matte varnishes also. The matte varnish is really good and haven't had any problems but I can't seem to get the gloss varnish to go on smooth. I have used various thinners and adjusted the pressure for the airbrush but can't get it have a smooth surface. Usually it dries with a slight "texture" to the clear coat. Not sure if is an acrylic clear coat problem or I am missing something. Appreciate any advice you have!

I was tempted but it doesn't look like he will fit into my display. I do like Mezco's original characters and his design is great but not something I can fit into my existing collection.

New Gunpla pre-orders up at P-Bandai US!

Bought one bottle, lets see how this stuff works.

Got my Nimrod three pack in today also. Didn't come in a shipping box though, they put the shipping labels directly on the packaging. At least I don't have to decide if I wanted to keep the box or not.

At the end of the P-Bandai webpage there is a teaser for F91. Since we already have the F91 in metal build form what other suits would they do?
