  1. This, and all the more rare that at this "work" you find a woman that "works really hard".
  2. I've heard of wives that don't want to "work really hard" to have a baby; I haven't heard of the opposite before. For social context, there are projections of what's been termed a COVID-19 baby boom; which if true, within 5-10 years will only increase demand on Bandai's products.
  3. Pics like the one above added on top of the Bandai DX Chogokin release in general have a very tempting effect on my wallet.
  4. I don't know if you have them, but before paint correction and after paint correction pics would be appreciated for comparison.
  5. That wording is hilarious. SIdenote, I've done the something similar with eBay sellers: buy one item stand alone to see what their shipping/packing is like; before I decide to buy other items from them.
  6. True. As an update, it sold at $950.00: https://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/224261717539?item=224261717539&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565
  7. What remedy options are available for situations such as the one quoted above? Specifically, hypothetically, say one brought it direct from Bandai, can you ship it back with receipt and get your money back or an exchange? And, in the quoted case, where the user paid a markup for the item (35k Yen) from NY; what is NY's policy on refund or exchange?
  8. Yea, now that you pointed out I can kind of see it though it is pretty obscured; it still would be nice for a clear pic of the front boxart for clarity.
  9. Would you mind please posting the just the front boxart for this 1/55 VF-1S, so we know exactly which version it is?
  10. What is the additional 1/55 Chunky Money you could technically add? Also, RT = ? Are the 1/48 Bandai DX Chogokin figures' wings when folded back not suppose to line up?
  11. I just saw this; if It were not a pic I would not believe. I imagine this is every Roy Focker VF-1S released over all manufacturer lines and all manufacturer scales including all manufacturer sublines: Takatoku (1/55), Yamato (1/48 & 1/60), Arcadia (1/60), Toynami (1/100), and Bandai (1/55 Re-Release of Takatoku, 1/55 Origin of Valkyrie 1/100 Hi-Metal, 1/48 DX Chogokin, ??? (I think I'm missing some other lines). Sidenote, I also wonder if this pic includes the Roy Focker VF-1Ss released under the "Robotech" brand name with their separate set of various manufacturers and various scales.
  12. Does the Hikaru (Red) Bandai DX Chogokin come with a: red/white skull heat shield or a black/white skull heat shield?
  13. What are "kite logos"? I'm assuming it's more than just logos shaped like a kite (diamond shape).
  14. Item was relisted as an auction with a reserve price of $950.00 and a "buy it now" price of $1,300.00; as of the time of this post this auction is set to end at 12/09/2020 (Wednesday) @~2:30 PM EST. Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224261717539/
  15. Welcome, yup I grew up with all of those as well. Including seeing a Roy VF-1S with the white/black skull emblem when I was young. For reference, I believe the most common Macross model kits are from the manufacturer Hasegawa, but I do not know if there is a breakdown of their product line somewhere for you to look at what has been released. Perhaps another user can link one if there is one to view. In addition, I do not know if any Macross model kits from Hasegawa or from any other manufacturer allow for a seamless transformation of the Valkyrie from jet to gerwalk to battroid without having to disassemble and reassemble parts. Perhaps someone here knows if such a model kit was ever released?
  16. @mslz22, Nice Hikaru 1S, do you plan on painting the skull on the heat shield?
  17. I had this exact same question, searched the forums and found this topic. So, rather than make a new topic; I wanted to ask if anyone can provide the answer to the above question?
  18. I was going through Macross Toy releases thread (http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29393), and trying to get an idea of the history of 1/55 releases from the various manufacturers. As i was browsing through that thread I noticed I could not see any of the Bandai 1/55 VF-1 releases listed in the Bandai section. In addition, I also didn't see a section for the Takatoku releases as well. Essentially, I'm just trying to piece together a history of the 1/55 VF-1 releases from Takatoku and Bandai; would anyone happen to have a comprehensive release list from either of these manufacturers? The closest thing I found for Takatoku was this page: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/takatoku.htm ; and I haven't found a similar list for the Bandai 1/55 VF-1 Releases apart from details about the 2008 release (titled Origin of Valkyrie) covered here: http://www.collectiondx.com/node/3650 .
  19. I did read the newbie thread (http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=33093) which is precisely why I asked since it mentioned there are already known bootlegs such as the "Joons" (a bootleg of the 1/55). All I am asking is this - is there a way to check, say for example via the labeling on the box/UPC/serial number on the box or perhaps a marking on the figure, to see if it's genuine? I've seen these figures on ebay/Amazon fluctuate between $300-$900, and I just need to know how to check if what I'm receiving is genuine. Given that the prices are so high it's very reasonable to be asking how to check for genuineness.
  20. Hey, I'm looking to buy a "Yamato 1/48 VF-1S", and wanted to know as I'm checking the various online websites that sell this item - (like eBay, Amazon, Yahoo Japan Auction, and the other websites mentioned in this thread (http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41210) - Is there was a way to determine (say from the packaging) if a listed "Yamato 1/48 VF-1S" is actually genuine? As an example, here is a listing from ebay of the kind of "Yamato 1/48 VF-1S" that I'm trying to determine if it's genuine: Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Macross-1-48-scale-VF-1S-do-you-remember-love-perfect-transformation-by-yamato-/331696683607 I've read online that when buying from sellers/places in China and Mexico that there can be cheap knock-offs/bootlegs advertised as real "Yamato 1/48 VF-1S", and I just want to avoid buying a non-genuine figure.
  21. Ok, I wasn't sure if I asked them for pics whether or not they would actually provide them; thanks for the info.
  22. Hey, I was browsing through Jungle, and noticed a 1/48 VF-1S with an odd description for the condition of the item as: "Distorted Sling metal fitting". What does that actually mean; does it mean damage to the actual figure? Link: http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=121&id=1282660
  23. Hey, I was looking through Amazon the other day, and found the 'Macross 30th Anniversary VF-1J Valkyrie' listed, and wanted to ask if this Amazon listing was for the 1/48 VF-1J model kit or the 1/48 VF-1J transformable figure (ie. ability to transform from plane to Gerwalk to Battroid)? Link: http://www.amazon.com/anniversary-machine-Macross-Valkyrie-65824/dp/B00F32I4K8
  24. Just to make sure I'm on the same page, there is no reliable Amazon listing/Amazon seller or other reputable hobby/toy website that would be selling either the "Yamato 1/48 VF-1S" or "Yamato version 2 1/60 VF-1S" currently?
  25. Ah, I see, ok. Let me ask this, is there a reputable Amazon link or reputable website where the "Yamato 1/48 VF-1S" or "Yamato version 2 1/60 VF-1S" are being sold? Also, if I am correct in my understanding the "Yamato version 2 1/60 VF-1S" is the re-issue that avoided the concern of cracks showing up in the shoulders - right? Ok, let me ask this was that 1990 VF-1S described in that eBay link (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Takatoku-Japan-1-55-Macross-VF-1S-Armored-Valkyrie-GBP-1S-Boxset-Robotech-/262003605046) ever re-issued?
