I can vouch for ALL of Cap's Invid kits, I own and have built them all. He uses very good resin and the finished product is great, if you are willing to put in the work.  I will say that this one, I felt was the most difficult of the four types released and I would not recommend these to someone who has never worked with a resin kit before. Not trying to scare anyone off, just wanted to share my thoughts on this.

That's discouraging. I see this as my only chance to get an "invid schocktrooper"

Hope it's ok to answer this one. From what I know this is a resin kit and not injection styrene kit. Resin Kit is more difficult compared to regular kits. Example, a regular Gundam kit you can snap build it with or without cleaning it up or washing it. You can paint it directly on regular kits without primer, etc. Whereas with Resin Kits, you really need to clean it thoroughly, check out for inconsistencies, remove mold seams or any air bubble trapped in the resin mold. It's more work than regular kit. You can google some info about it, or even YouTube some video tutorials. But since this Captain's resin, I'm sure it's much cleaner than super mass produced ones.

Thanks for the answer. I haven't put together many model kits before, but I really love how this Inbit design looks.

Based on all online shops info out there for the last DYRL Minmay figure released by Plamax, height is approximately 9cm. As well as the other Plamax Macross Idols. Hope that helps.

Thanks. It may go just right with the CM's and Banpresto figures

Since it's somewhat related, would anyone be interested in a re-issue of my 1/48 Inbit kits? Seems like the crabby baddies get no love from toy manufacturers.

Any ideas on how much they would cost?

1/20. Same size as the first DYRL Minmay released by the same company. Same scale as the pilot one.

Thanks. I know the scale is 1/20, but I wanted to know the actual size, because I don't know how tall Minmay is supposed to be on the show.

    Thank you.

My custom Scout is almost done. I started this project almost 2 years ago and finally it's almost ready to be painted.

Here is a test fitting of all sensors, they're not glued, just pinned, so some of those might look misaligned. What do you guys think? Should I add, adjust or change something? All critics are welcome.

Just saw this pic on facebook.  So much win!

Based on that picture... Could the missile effects work on the Armored Valkyrie?

to be  honest, I have little interest in a remake of the SDFM TV series with updated animation.

The original series is still good enough, wonky animation and all.

I would however be OK with a side-story OVA set in the same period.

Anyway, we already have a reamake of SDFM with superior animation, it's called DYRL :p

I agree. I don't think a remake is needed, but I would definitely support a fan project looking for correcting some issues, like some coloring mistakes and some poor drawings, thus enhancing the original series

  9. Last week I sold four Hi-Metal / Hi-Metal R valks to some guy. Once he received them, he said: "These look just like the Toynami veritechs"

Now I wish I sold them to someone else....

Why cant we get a gently re-imagined (as in don't change the story or designs just update the animation) for SDFM, in addition to new series I have to ask? I mean Evangelion got a little bit of an animation update  didn't it..?

But they did change the Evangelion story. After the first movie, it's entirely different. They even said that it's not a remake but a sequel instead.

So true. . .the memories of when our daughter was a newborn are interwoven with me watching toy reviews and anime from 2am until I heard the birds chirping outside and the sun came up.  That's when my wife would come down and take her for the day.  In short. . . Watch SDFM at 3am - and have the bottle and diaper ready !

That's a great idea. I have a baby on the way!
