sorry to hijack the thread even more... I always thought the right way to do a Macross game would be as a First Person Shooter. Like say BattleField. You play most of the time as a Batroid, but when you need to you can turn into a Gerwalk to hover and do Gerwalky stuff (sort of like the helicopters in BF) and turn into a jet when you need to dog fight and fly around. (just like using a jet). You'd basicly be 3 vehicles in one. Most macross games i feel miss the mark by makeing a flight game where.. for some reason.. you turn into a robot. the robot is always crap at flying and there is very little for it to do.

Well for anyone who's intrested the game is on location here: George and Waltz 5445 College Ave Oakland, CA 94618 (510) 653-7441 For beta-testing. If anyone is in the area you should check it out, I'd love to hear what you guys think of it. :-)

it definately has some similaritys, but to me it looks like a unique design, especially in this image: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&id=37346 imho it is clearly NOT just a yf-22 with diffrent wings.

I had a batty of a time with that level, the one that made me stop playing was the one where you escort a cats eye. the game actually used the limits of your visible area to spawn in more enemys ie: theyd spawn in, sometimes right next to you, and always just out of view. very frustraiting. to answer your question though all i remember is that there was some kind of trick, like doing barrol rolls or somethign that would help you avoid the missle barrages', i dont 'remember exactly what it was though.

the careful reader will note i didn't compair them to any other versions from the dougram line, compaired to the EVANGELIONS in the revoltech line, the dougrams are weak pose-wise.
-
i'm very unimpressed with my getter and dougram, after they sat for about 3 months i decided to open them. their poseability is a joke compaired to the eva's, and its all becaues they sacraficed range of motion for that stupid big nut pose. I won't be getting anymore non-eva revoltechs (also the actual revoltech joint count on the non-eva's was too low for my likeing)

what bugs me about the watering down is that the kids who will most likely watch this movie have already read the comics... they're watering it down for the same audience.

or... possibly not very familiar with the newest fighter planes... never mistake personal knowledge for common knowledge.

i didn't realize marines liked to use dorky looking fantasy knives.. i guess K-Bars just don't cut it anymore huh?
-
i only bought the Devil Strarf, what did you think of the rest of that fig?
-
yeah, i got my blue eva unit 00, very nicely done. my only complaint at all is that the revoltech joints arn't used on every pivot, they're really amazing figures.

is that thing designed for flying through super low density atmospheres or something?

please no more.. first the monster now this. I respected macross BECAUSE not every mech in the show transformed for no reason. I sincerely hope this is not cannon or I might just swear off macross for ever. as for ed, thats a sexy beast.

skywarp will be colored like a blue-angel from what i've heard. I'm really excited because even though no f-15 was ever a blue angel, the paint scheme is more realistic. [/jerkmode] for reals though, that repaint is amazing. Having the tv colors on the mold really makes the thing look accurate, it helps a that thing is hot. -
