That GIF must be from either Ducati's or Aprillia's warehouse, as that pretty much explains every package I've ever received ordering directly from them, ever (did I mention ever?).  Oddly enough, I've never had a problem with the Honda shipping boxes being mangled.  They must think the parts are for a VR-052 or something.   All parts are in 1/48 scale, of course, to keep it on topic.

Speaking of box sizes and packaging, I really like how showzstore handles their packages.  The outer parcel may look a bit beat up at your door, but once you remove the shipping box, the inside is adequately bubble-wrapped with corner protectors and the original packaging is very well preserved.

My DX Roy from mykombini had a couple of creased corners, because of the small clearance between the bubble-wrapped DX and the shipping box.

So instead of paying for bigger shipping boxes and packaging material, why can't they just add a few corner protectors?

Am I the only that has not gotten his Roy from Nin Nin? It still shows as pre order confirmed...

My first round PO has finally shipped yesterday after a few others here have already received theirs.  You may want to send a ticket just to ask if you could expect shipment soon.

I'm calling it: TV will always have correct modex and DYRL will always have "symmetrical" modex.

I was only going to collect the TV variants in the DX line anyway, and I am so glad that they have fixed the 001 for Roy's 1S.

The symmetrical "non-error" in Kakizaki's tail fin (012, 210) would have driven me absolutely nuts...

Did someone mention needing ejection seat triangle and cockpit skull decals? :D I'm open to doing another run of my DX valk supplemental set.

They've been coming through for many of us. My order from them arrived today. At least one of the members in your position contacted Nin-Nin and asked for a status update. They were told that there was a shipment delay for some of the stock and orders would be going out next week (I think).

Hi - if you still have some from the current batch, please can I order one?  Thanks!

OK, I feel the need to add to this post, so I will. To be clear, I am still NOT a fan of the following:

    1. Those Goddamned leg fins...Why OH WHY could they not come up with a similar design choice like Yamato did?! You can't tell me they couldn't have done those in such a way that they can be locked into place, a very piss poor design choice and for me easily the most aggravating thing about this design.

    2. The arms still using friction fit pegs in fighter mode. These will only loosen up over time (Assuming you were fortunate enough to have them come tight in fighter mode in the first place) though not that big of a deal IF you're using Bandai's stand and displaying it in fighter mode the way they want you to.  Though listed as #2, this in my opinion is tied for #1 with the leg fin issue.

    3. The movable head laser gimmick, there's literally NO NEED for this and only creates more aggravation in getting them in the proper position in all modes.

    4. Movable wing flaps - I still don't see the need for this gimmick, but that's just me, it's actually the least annoying of the differences between Yamato/Arcadia and Banda's DX design.

I remember some of you saying you were holding out hope for them addressing at least some of these issues, but it should be clear by now that Bandai has no intention of ever doing so. I, like the rest of you, will either have to live with these issues or just use Elmer's glue. (Which can be removed with warm water)

My opinion hasn't changed now that I have two of these. The sculpt, weight, panel lines, and over the top tampo print detail make it worth owning, but I think that overall, Yamato did it better. The DX is an improvement in some areas, and a step backwards in others. If you have a bunch of Yamato/Arcadia's, then you can skip this or get just one just to have it for something new.

I will be getting the VF-1D to go with my TV Roy 1S, I wasn't expecting a two seater, but since they are, I'll get one of those. After that, unless they come out with a stealth/low vis version, I'm done.

I'm sure that if they came though for me, they'll come through for you and the others, I think what happened is that they had limited stock on hand and sent those out and are sending them out as they get stock in. Hang in there! :)

*Edit* This is going to sound weird, but for some strange reason, this overall looks better than my DYRL Hikaru 1S. Logically I know this is impossible, the only explanation I can come up with is that the Yellow and Black just makes the whole thing look better to me than the Red and Black of the DYRL 1S. O.o

Hi there - and an update for those of us who ordered NNG especially the first batch, my first batch order has shipped via DHL earlier today, ETA Monday.  Given how fast DHL usually is, I would probably not be surprised if it got here on Saturday.  But we will see.

For those of us who are still waiting, good luck, but it looks like they ARE honoring all of our PO's so far.

Eh...not quite everyone.  I ordered 2 at $225.29 and I'm still waiting to hear.  My safety from Anime Export, however, got here on Monday.

Hopefully they'll come through for the rest of us who are still waiting.  I also have a safety from Mykombini shipped yesterday with FedEx, but with no expected delivery date yet.

My TV Roy 1S got here a little while ago, no QC issues, the arms stay up better in fighter mode than my Hikaru 1S, and the wing flaps stay in place a bit more snugly as well. Very happy with it, and I'm glad that Nin-Nin came through for me and everyone else as well.

I was in the $225.29 group price wise, cost me $275.10 with shipping. If there's any future pre-order madness and the other places are sold out, I'll go with Nin-Nin again. :)

Hey @Kyp Durron, we had both ordered from NNG on PO night, happy to see that you've got yours at long last.  Mine is still showing "preparation in progress" (since 11/30), sent another ticket yesterday but am trying VERY hard to resist the urge to ping them again...

My Roy from NNG just showed up! A day early. During a snowstorm. :yahoo:

Glad to see that.  I am in the first batch pricing bracket, and have paid the additional shipping charge, but still no tracking info yet.  The wait is killing me...

FedEx just delivered mine today from NNG first batch! Can't wait to get to it :yahoo:

Congrats! First batch NNG pricing (17,800 yen), no extra shipping upcharge to the USA?  Also dispatched early.  Lucky you!

No freaking idea how they operate. I am from the 1st batch at Nin Nin and I paid 2700yen for EMS to Singapore. Seems low for the shipping (Ami Ami charged me 4000yen) but they shipped it out anyway.

That's good to hear, and 2700 sounds a steal for those of us paying for shipping half way across the globe from Japan to the US/Canada...

That's what they told me on Saturday.  However, I've seen several folks here who ordered from Nin-Nin Game that have either received shipping confirmation or have otherwise seen some movement on their orders, which leads me to believe they had some stock on hand.  So, I'm hopeful they'll get a fair number of the ones ordered on 07/03 out the door this week, but time will tell.  Personally, NNG has given me no reason to think they won't come through.  The one previous order I had with them shipped without issue.  That said, I'll feel better when mine ships.

Hi @Draykov, I have also received an email from NNG about the shipping upcharge (I ordered at 17820 yen).  At this point I just want them to ship out my order to me as soon as possible.

For another order earlier in the year, they have automatically upgraded my shipping from EMS to UPS/FedEx without me asking, so I am ok this time around based on the positive experience before.  However, I can understand why others may be bummed if they are getting a "free" shipping upgrade on a more expensive preorder but not for the cheaper one, on the exact same figure as well.

Same here, i spent all weekend waiting to see the change from order stop to in stock but now it shows discontinued. What a luck!

I sill have faith in Nin Nin, waiting for my shipping confirmation

I'm still waiting for my shipping notification from NNG as well.  Overnight US time they have updated my status from "pre order" to "preparation in progress".

I opened a ticket about my shipping method to be upgraded to fedex/dhl and they sent me a reply saying it will upgraded, I'm guessing at no cost? they said they will be sending me an email as soon as its ready to ship

I did exactly the same last week and got the same reply. I think they will upgrade the shipping for us. They’ve done that with another order of mine earlier this year without me asking.

FYI, Nin Nin just updated that my order is shipped. Using EMS and from the 1st batch @ 17,820yen.

Finally got my shipping notice from Nin Nin.  Free upgrade to Fedex.  Pretty fast response when I asked for an update a week ago too so they're my replacement N-Y now.

Happy to see two more fellow members receive tracking info from NNG. I’m still waiting (somewhat impatiently now) for mine, and hope that it will ship later today.

Got my tracking from Nin Nin last night but just got an alert from Okani. Cheaper than what I've paid if anyone is still in need.

Thanks for posting this. I have also just received the same email alert and thought the price was quite reasonable. Don’t know how much shipping will be but this seems a good deal.

I stupidly did but have not heard a peep from them. I have fears that we will be messed about with. I can only hope that NY will prove me wrong. Roy is my last item ordered with them. I'd rather call it quits with the hobby then rely on them for anything moving forward. I don't think i have had as bad and distasteful purchasing experience with anyone else.

Hi spanner, apologies but I was really just curious. I am one of the many who got NY’d with the SSP as well, and I hope that you will get your order from them very soon.

On a less serious note, N-Y has achieved something similar to what google has done - people have started using their brand name as a verb, albeit for VERY different reasons....

Mine was from eomochayasan who I've purchased stuff from before. It'll probably ship out within the next 2 or 3 days via DHL. $260 shipped for mine after using Amazon points.

They're not going to pull an NY if that's what you're concerned about. :drinks:

I love it, pulling a N-Y. I do wonder if anyone here had ordered Roy from them, and has anyone been N-Y’d again?

  18. 1 hour ago, technoblue said:

Ha! Could be. The surplus artwork that we've seen since SDF:M TV and DYRL were released do tend to mash-up the different details. I can only guess that Bandai is being strictly animation accurate with this TV Roy release, which would follow how Yamato did their TV version of Roy's 1S.

So confusing. At least it won't take that much effort to turn Roy's TV 1S promo into a DYRL promo.

Yeah it’s not unlike the colour of the VF-1D’s back cover on the HM-R I guess. Very confusing.

Now that I can’t unsee this uncoloured patch, I may have to get hold of some 1/48 water decals for the dome part...

  19. 1 hour ago, technoblue said:

Hey rdrunner, the yellow dome is one of the few differences between the TV and DYRL Valkyries. So I’m guessing Bandai will add the yellow when they get to doing Roy’s DYRL 1S. ;)

Edit: Curiously, even Yamato and Arcadia didn’t paint up the dome for every Roy DYRL 1S release. Depending on how the Valkyrie was packaged, it could be a painted detail or an optional decal. The other DYRL Valkyries are more consistent with having the dome painted.

Hi there!  I guess it is another one of those animation inconsistencies between the TV version and the official specs. Someone posted this in a Macross Facebook group which showed the yellow. Curiously, Hikaru’s DX VF-1J also has the red circle on its backpack.
