  1. I have a different take on that being a gamer and tech head myself. However I don't deny that this is the case. In short its really about console warriors and their particular concerns. I am not of the Wiki generation nor did I allow my kids to be mostly because it became fairly clear that anyone can say anything in what I understood was a mechanism designed to be a depository of facts. It clearly isn't used as such so I understand your concern. My vocation is in IT and of course game design is a part of the same overall field. That I am a gamer means I am happy to explain the Wii U but of course public perception prevents any authority I may possess or subscribe to from permeating any misunderstandings that widely socialize. Increasingly we live in a world where anything less than perceptively approaching perfection is therefore irrelevant. There is no such thing as failure, every failure is perceived as a complete failure. You may feel that shouldn't be the case but it is; that is how public perception works until things change. We can sit and epiphany a conversation about this til the cows come home. Which is kinda the reason why things are like this. Too many bright cookies with too much information to spew in academic recital and semantic debate means people protect themselves with ignorance. The problem then becomes that you have a buncha people that have to win at any cost and a larger bunch of people that feel they will never be good enough and increasingly can't be bothered. This is the larger problem. I personally like the Wii U, especially with the very loosely Macross/Eureka style Xenoblade Chronicles X about to drop and the new Starfox game with TV third person world view and gamepad screen first person cockpit view that you can pan around the cockpit and is used for precision targeting, instrument fidgeting; has multiple vehicles and in particular Airwings that now have a Gerwalk mode. Yes and I will display just how simple it was. I was pointed to a particular episode and a particular segment (twice) where I almost blatantly transcribed the scene and dialogue in a synapse and was twice rebuttaled refuting their own supportive argument. So, had my point refuted to be then twice refuted corroborating the debaters own arguments, twice. Lordy, lordy! What does it all mean!? I am also pretty sure I am terming semantic debates as exactly what they are and quite correctly. Well this was in response to another poster and on topic, however its a good opportunity to inform you that if I do not reply to you its a pretty good sign that I do not appreciate your input. Might I suggest that if you feel you need to continue this that you PM me?
  2. That denoise cap I really like. May I ask which source you are using and what ls:cs:lt:ct (Luma spacial/temporal: Chroma spacial/temporal) you are using? I am going to use the Madman PAL discs and try to soften the blow of some of the artifacts introduced in production which annoy. I was thinking of using 1:1:3:3 or 1:1:4:4 for a slight reduction in file size whilst packing more quality in using Handbrake.
  3. I am not complaining about anything. Way to miss the point of my example. I won't derail the thread by getting into a debate about gaming but the fact that this is on the cards is actually a nice illustration about my point regarding 'interpretation'. No gamer is going to be excessively happy with how mainstream society actually defines a gaming generation but then most gamers don't feel the need to combat it. Fact its the N'th generation of consoles because that coincides with the componentry and technologies implemented, so you are not wrong there at all. However, In gaming terms its supposedly 8th generation of game soft, which is about multiple render targets, asymmetric UX, asynchronous UI and Augmented Reality. Unfortunately due to online socialization of the mainstream, that never really gets explored as only one platform is doing that and it doesn't have popular support being in a space completely removed from what the bulk of the industry calls "next gen". Thus as far as I am concerned we are still in 7th Gen. So the mainstream may not illustrate their interpretation on point, but its also (by the same token) technically correct. I don't disagree with your overall sentiment in your post but then it doesn't affect me either. I am quite happy for people to believe what they want because nothing is going to prevent that anyway, just based on each individual investment alone. It has nothing to do with wikipedia and everything to do with online socialization and certain rather forceful loud individuals that can't abide the idea that what they are comfortable with can be challenged and therefore changed. No matter what anyone says. Macross, or any anime's supportive mythology, is derived from dramatization and therefore completely open to interpretation in the larger forum. There are not those with knowledge or those in possession of some empirical truth regarding it, not even by those whom are responsible for its continuity. What you and some others need to understand is that no one is out to debunk your consensus, but that is a two way process. By the same token you can absolutely forget anyone coming to these forums in order to enter into a hive mind ~ Thats not going to happen and I offer that its that very kind of thinking that is the root cause of all the debate surrounding Macross for decades past. I am aware of this, but also aware that much could have been avoided if people were more open to receiving the ideas of others. This is having gone through so much of the same bog of pointless semantic debate and also what has kept me away from community discussion surrounding Macross in the past and I dare say so many fans feel the same way. I hate to tell you but if your stance is that your burden of facts belies any other possibility of interpretation of a mythos, then you are going to have to prove that through entertaining every other differentiating interpretation presented to its conclusion. That is what makes an authority, an authority. An interpretation is not an opinion, it also uses the same process you have gained a consensus from, with others or no one. Not a battery of empiricisms used to reject the interpretations of others that have the guts to put that out there only to have that shut down because you feel too weary having to go over what may feel to like the same ground. There are no laurels here. A community is about sharing a common interest. Any time I have felt that wasn't me, I ceased to be part of that community or at the very least, simply have decided to stay out of topics I no longer feel like repeating myself over. You don't have to be well versed in the supporting material. There are always those that are and failing that, plenty of information available online that gets the gist across. Unless you are interested in getting into semantic debate, any real authority should be able to follow, collaborate and explore your interpretations. Specific corrections can always be made at whatever point the main part of a discussion has reached a conclusion/consensus. Its not a competition to see who can shut down topicality the fastest. That only communicates that there is no need for discussion at all. I have only attempted to make one thread. Anything else is me just offering what I know and an interest in driving whatever thread I have commented on forward; which is where someone such as yourself has been able to provide me with insight over my own nascent quandries that is much appreciated.
  4. Yeah, I do too, especially for the old anime. Thats how I was introduced to it and so thats what I try to keep a semblance of. However you have actually provided me with some insight with what you have spoken about here that has now inspired me to try something. Thank you. You can't be serious... Granted socialization on the internet tends to like to go off into silliness. but let people talk. If you are confident in your knowledge then you can always politely correct anything you consider an oversight because it may just be only as simple as that. Most people are mature enough that no matter what they take away from a discussion to check their sources and facts before reciting them elsewhere. Most people whom are that interested in Macross know Big West are mostly financial backing and I have never seen it listed anywhere as anything else. This is like that whole need to firmly plant Studio Nue as a design body only. Thats actually inaccurate, they are not a huge studio but are capable of producing small projects which I believe they have been doing since the early 70's. Most are; or are at the very least capable of doing the body of work to be finished somewhere else and get it done, especially in the old days where there were a lot of small studio's that worked collaboratively. For something of the scope of Macross, well yah, they are not equipped and so Tatsunoko Pro are. None of which was even my point. It would have been enough to say "Ok, not the best analogy but I get what you mean". Its wonderful to have individuals that are clear about the processes in any topic but its not fair for you or them that all that comes to is a license to be paranoid. No ones lighting a fire under the internets rump over these little factoids, I assure you, even if you may have been unfortunate enough to have experienced the contrary. That would make sense. They're digital and currently already on the Macross bandwagon. Just to recap though, anyone whom is happy with what they know is brave enough to be wrong and let others be wrong. As an example:~ It took hundreds of people eager for information about Nintendo's Wii U to socialize it away from Gen 8 consoles. All on the word of a hardware cracker innocently looking to provoke a discussion about the platform specs. No one bothered to hang around and hear the guy caution that his initial spec discovery had peculiarities associated or self confess that he is not proficient with IBM SoI. It didn't stop everyone in the initial thread from going nuts eager to tell the world that the Wii U is a weak hardware platform, based solely on it not meeting an expected megahertz threshold and everyone ignorant of the fact that its was diagnosed incorrectly to begin with. In reality that appraisal couldn't be further from the truth. ..But that was hundreds of console warriors in a topic about an unknown platform. Not a few people talking about something well documented and easily corrected in good faith.
  5. Hopefully they will go in and clean it up a lot. There are a lot of artifacts and imperfections that make me wonder what dropping it in HD would actually achieve at all. Misa.bmp
  6. Not in your wildest dreams. I was being sarcastic. I am well aware of the min/maxing requirements of RPG gamers when taking license from other established canon. I specifically cited 'crush the head of the snake' in reply to your posturing over facts, of an episode, you cited (to support your own argument) in which Exedol eschews the Zentradi task force organization, newly micloned aboard the Macross and you still went on to refute it, the very next second. Actually you have contradicted yourself throughout the thread on many occasions even when I very clearly corroborated your points (one because they are true, two to make you feel confident that other discussions can be had in good faith). The fact is, for whatever reason you did not want this thread to gain traction and thats all there is to it. Welcome to the club and this was a thread that I started, but now feel as you do. I am not a troll here and I will thank you not to insinuate it. Despite your condescending tone, I am still sorry anyone thought you needed to be brought into a thread (?) you obviously have no interest in and is clearly become off topic. However, even a cursory glance over the thread, should have made you feel confident that the topic starter wasn't going to put up with where it was going for much longer (it may surprise you to learn that new people come to forums for a reason and start topics) and you honestly, needn't have bothered. Rest assured, there will be no argument, but you are a loon if you think you can type that arrogant assumption and not get a reply in kind (you don't need to answer this, just take it on board). I decided to post an introductory to a topic, having lurked through threads to see what other people were actually talking about (surrounding Macross) and inspired by a post from another person lamenting "why Macross fans don't come to discuss Macross here". Well, with all due respect its fairly obvious why now isn't it? I am not unaware of the same burden of facts you or anyone else possesses and you should be mindful of this in the future where confident posters seem to swoop in with their own ideas and interpretations. This thread was not made to descend into an argument/debate about those facts, but a discussion assembling that establishment into a wider explorative topic; in a larger narrative about the Zentradi. In fact, such a discussion cannot be had without those facts, really now could it? Its really not that hard to understand. The problem is there in clear print, the topic was never allowed to establish itself. Your friend was wrong and now in support of your friend you are wrong. And I am out. Yes, I totally agree. It would have been fun to establish a topic, explore the offered premise and even possibly go onto an anthropological exploration of the Zentradi (if such momentum could be gained) as the writers have gone out of their way to provide fans with plenty of topicality without necessarily needing a dogmatic approach. @azrael please lock the thread. Its clear no one is interested in discussing the now off-topic, topic or even interested in discerning where a person might provide insight into one; and I no longer wish to pursue it. Just lock it. Many thanks for your contributions.
  7. My two daughters are named Millia and Seila, so Millia (and Chlore). I'm also a massive fan of Misa. Gundam (mostly UC era) and Macross (everything up to M7 and DYRL?) are my favourite mainstream anime. Followed closely by Yamato, Gatchaman and Dunbine (especially OAVs). I am also a big fan of Ginga Eiyuu no densetsu and Five Star Stories. Others include Dirty Pair, Urusei Yatsura and Lodoss tou Senki along with a lot of historical fantasy stuff like Otogi Zoshi and Utsunomiko.
  8. Yamaga, Hiroyuki ~ Gainax Anno, Hideaki ~Gainax Kakoi, Hiroshi ~ AIC (Dec.) Itano, Ichiro ~ AIC Ishiguro, Noboru ~ AIC Anno-san I think went to Artland with Mikimoto-san. Itano-san continued to excel with Tomino-san and Gundam. Ishiguro-san shouldn't need any introduction at all. There are probably more I can't recall but most of these guys are old guard. Yamaga-san did the opening credits iirc.
  9. Yes, because an RPG site is not at all about strict adherence to factoids. It doesn't need to be a discussion that goes so far afield from the source material and everyone ends up in strange territory. It could also be representative, assembling those facts and connecting the canon thus revelationary in undiscovered country. Where, as new information becomes available, it could be culminated. There is no conclusive synopses of the Zentradi that exists past mere tidbits of information. There is a story there and that story hasn't been told either. That story isn't over yet. Its constantly happening as each story gets told, visually and narratively anyway. As you have stated is mostly a pendulum effect between the two origin stories of the canon. If such a discussion could be had in good faith then it would be a good discussion. As I have already said, DYRL? is not propaganda its just fan service. Elementally the same story. At this junction the proposition of the Zentradi, whilst some facts support some other fact, its largely open to interpretation. Metaphorically and contextually even by the language used in that narrative.
  10. Yep, Tatsunoko Production comes up mainly credited. You can add Gainax, AIC, Tcraft, Madhouse, Triangle, Statelight, Bandai Emotion/Visual, Shochiku just off the top of my head that have been involved with the IP over the years in both design and production. I'm sure there are many more. I'm not really sure why it was important to get into this semantic. They're all studio's involved with producing the various anime at whatever level.
  11. Good luck selling that. I guess then, so is a yoyo! Even greater luck making that actually happen in a comprehensible way. Ya know, I just introduced this thread because I wanted to talk larger Macross assembly ~ specifically about Zentradi. I am personally over rehashing factoids for nearly 30yrs which never seems to get past interpretive debate and is utterly vain and pointless given anyone has access to the same information. Its meaningless recital. There isn't a conclusive discussion or synopsis about the Zentradi at all. Just tidbits of interesting facts all over the place. I thought it might be a good discussion. One that makes use of all those facts.
  12. I didn't know that they actually did any advertising. I thought they were just a financing company that had their fingers in just about everything they could get their hands on. Kinda like Index Corp were never really an entertainment company but just funded and subbed everything they could.. actually they were more like a pachinko company I think..
  13. Crushing the head of the snake IS the phrase stated after Exedol explains the Zentradi Task force makeup. I get that you have a tonne of reference material at your disposal. Its a shame you can't abide a discussion that takes that burden of factoid waffle and have a conversation about what all that actually means (no matter the topic or how hard someone tries to steer you onto it). My statement about 'repurcussions' was not aimed at a dead Zentradi leader. It was aimed at the fact Earth still remains. I'm not interested in a factoid debate based. This thread is meant to see how many people with access/possession of the same store of facts can have a speculative discussion in putting all that together into a larger understanding/synopsis of Zentradi and validating that source material. Not a factoid debate. Its not that you know better, its that I see what you are used to doing and am avoiding engaging you in a factoid debate. In short, not interested. Given that you like to stick to only printed facts released by IP partners of the various series. I find it really strange that you cite Macross II at all, given that as it stands? Macross II is little more than Megazone 23 III reskinned in Macross visual elements, where somehow in the next 17 odd years; Princess Ishtar (& co) of the Marducks imunize Zentradi throughout the Milky way against culture shock and apparently she isn't the only one capable in pure champion Iczer style. But somehow she falls in love with humanity and instead of culture shocked Zentradi (firmly under the control of Marducks) we now have culture shocked marduck emulators which forces (you guessed it!) a hierarchial split. In the other corner? we have a rag tag bunch of paranoid journalists obsessed with the a colonial government that protects them; that they believe is lying to everyone about their ability to do exactly that, whom are in possession of technology already 40+ yrs superseded by the time Macross 7 ends and Frontier begins.. and once again UN spacy must fight along side opposing alien super powers (now replete with the previous alien superpower) in order to survive... I mean at this point I think it would actually take some alien tech story telling to even find some way to bring Macross II into canon. ... Please refrain from introducing alternate universe factoids into a discussion that not really about factoid wars in the first place, if at all possible.
  14. They have always been an animation film studio. Yes that means design too. In fact they have been around from as far back as the early/mid 70's. Also yes, they could not handle the load on their own and Macross was out sourced to a buncha of studio's.
  15. If thats the case then so be it. However, its traditional for the source master to be much larger than the cuts. If that is the case then the source could be scaled to anything they want. Which is where Mr March was coming from. I am not sure what kind of finishing there would be post processing but it would be good to see this series in 16:9. That too me, more than simply HD would actually be something to see. Yah, like I said. my bad. If its actually true that the source itself was constrained to 4:3 then I guess yeah, there is no chance of ever seeing it in 16:9.
  16. Heh is that what it was? I call it an observation. Sorry you are not that important to me and I don't care for your denials on the back of commonly known recital. So far, you have only derailed a thread based on speculation because the idea of speculation causes you severe issues. A normal person would have just left. Lord, SC, CiC whatever you like. In the Japanese language its all the same. Yes this is true, the "crush the head of the snake" negotiation. Perhaps though, your interpretation of 'fleet' and subsequently its organization is, like most other things you seem to want to get stuck on and is altogether a little TOO literal. A 'fleet' in the Zentradi hierarchy denotes even the smallest detachment. Fact remains that although Exedol does call the offensive the Bodol fleet, any mass armada under the CiC is going to be designated the main fleet isn't it? You then state it has a numerical designation? All main battle groups take their designation from the oldest regiment closest to the highest level of the command hierarchy, which is also usually the largest and most diverse. Unless of course the battalion has been wiped out at some stage and then its given a new designation in the same battalion. You say its actually written somewhere that there are many such groups? I find that hard to believe. Purely because you don't lose an entire task force battle group of near 5 million and there are no repurcussions. No doubt there are other fleets, especially given most of this one has a standing order to escape and evade but it doesn't take 50+ yrs to reorganize and thats really one of the points that could be discussed in this thread after establishing what the association between Zentran and Meltran actually is and why both the TV series and the Movie have cooperative points about what the Zentradi actually are; and what they are without an echelon, is quite simply rogue and disorganized. You are right about the retreat organization but its an emergency measure based on little more than an escape and evasion plan and put in place solely because no ship under a certain rank has knowledge of, part or overall, of the battle plan and thus no measure could be in place to reorganize the battle group. This is also an answer of where I am coming from for your post as well JB0
  17. From recollection Studio Nue are/was an animation film studio. Also from recollection there was a whole bunch of out-sourcing for Macross if you mean that specifically.
  18. Actually it may just be that people are leaping to that conclusion because of an overall point I made. I have bought this series many times. I don't see the point in buying it again unless they cut 16:9 from the source. My bad if my wording implied that this was somehow tied to HD. Afaiac, the madman box set is actually really good and if anyone wants to scale up to HD 4:3 then Handbrake can very easily do this. As had been stated. Its an old anime and rather simple at that. I just think its pause for reconsideration before anyone rushes out to spend another $50 per disc. That said, if one doesn't already own the series, then there is no reason to not buy it. The series has never been cheap. For me personally? My viewing pane is now 16:9 screen fit and I was always an adopter of the widescreen format as soon as it came out. I like that cinematic feel. If anyone feels the way I do then its a point worth considering.
  19. I'm not really all that interested in a business semantic discussion that really adds nothing to the topic. I thought it was mostly understood. I myself am an engineer and if I go back to revise a project (even if its ten years ago) I attempt to bring the same people in. Why? Because like minded individuals that exist on the same wavelength and have practiced with you are bloody hard to find; and if the venture was successful then we are business buddies for life! Who said anything about anything being set in stone. Its well known that during a creative process much changes. Why they would want him on board? Who knows, maybe because he had already taken them to success. I am just saying the same thing you are implying. That its not necessary. My point was that the entire approach was doomed from the start and that had nothing to do with whom was involved but the source concept.
  20. Supreme Commander implies Supreme Commander, is doesn't ever imply any kind of subordinate. They bugged out because who knew that brute force could lose out to what they considered a primitive race that is beneath them. Fear is a basic instinct. It happens when we feel we are challenged. My point about whimsy is that its the only stature of importance outside of a military rank. Socially, this is bare bones and whimsical. Its pseudo-social. Add to that, do you know what a bevvy of facts without the cognitive process required to extrapolate and apply that knowledge is? Its bunk. Spitting factoids is great when you simply trying to identify something.. otherwise its just telling others what they already know and lends NOTHING to an investigative/creative process. Granted that in the case of the Zentradi, they don't seem to store knowledge individually and that is no revelation, they rely on specific individuals to supply proxy a knowledge base. Its just a job there is nothing quantum about it and is more about necessity than any epiphanous processes. Nope, the conversation between Britai and Exedol actually went something along the lines of Britai stating the that a species with no obvious organisation in their deployment must therefore be primitive and then identified the Supervision gunship. Exedol's reply was that its not in his records and specifically resembles the tech application and implementation of our species in general. Britia then stumbles over the preposterous notion that we have somehow restored it?! Zentradi don't repair anything. Their units from man to machine are entirely disposable and automated as is their operations, ships and even applied knowledge processes. This is an army that has one sole purpose. To fight by operating thing, to fight by proxy. Everything surrounding them has already been decided and facilitates their needs. ~ There is no manual override. The difficulty Britia was facing and why he was recalled to Bodol-za was specifically because the SC had already clearly decided that Protoculture was contaminating his detachment. There was even a point that Bodol-za had commented on Britai's change in communication. Which would no doubt resonate within a society of people where everyone does everything the same way. The essence of protocultural contamination is simply Bodol-za's inability to maintain control of such a large body of troops and operations. Zentradi only work as a body as long as everything is linear, not only within their own ranks but propositionally. If not, then its clear that Macross and Earth would have been wiped out during 'Booby Trap' in the TV series and oversight that was solved in the Movie. Earth was wiped out whilst Macross was at the system rim with Britia's detachment in hot pursuit. Every body knew in that operation. The whole culture shock thing reverberated throughout the Zentran fleet. Some were slower on the uptake than others. Bodol-za got creamed the rest ran for the inter-stellar hills. Face facts. It is, because it OUR history I am drawing insight from. I could be wrong but I don't remember implying that Commander Chlore was ignorant of what happened in our system? She definitely seems to know of the miclones and what happened in that battle and was initially quite happy to wipe out Colony 7. What I said she seemed ignorant of was that whilst Tranq'el was citing Exedol neither seemed to realise he was actually on Battle 7.
  21. Unsurprisingly adults with money are responsible professionals whom seek to do on-going business together. Your synopsis is childish. You may not agree with what your network of monetization decides to do with IP you are grouped into but you deny your support and especially money? No one will do business with you again. In all honesty, I am pretty confident that given the character designer is brought into the project that generally means his network still surrounds him on the IP and is creatively necessary. I can only speculate but feel that the only reason why Kawamori-san didn't direct M2 was most likely because (apart from being involved with other work) it was too far removed from what had already been done with Macross up to FB2012 and didn't feel he could take it where the script was going with M2. This changed rather quickly after video games started being made (unsurprisingly). Does it matter that AIC studio'd the production and Nue didn't? Not at all, it was great animation. What Macross II wasn't was Macross. If people want to look at it as some kinda futuristic macross story then fine, I will never tell anyone their feelings are wrong. I am just stating my opinion that it should be dismissed for the right reasons. Not because this person or that studio wasn't chiefly on the production of it. "What if Zentradi were immune to culture shock and automated Min mei attacks?" Ya cool story, well then why even Macross? Thats my point. The whole story was Megazone 23 III Part A & B with a Macross skin. For me that was disappointing.
  22. Meta. "Cast it aside and rebuild" is what I said. Not come in and make trouble. Just so you know what Seto's problem actually is, it has nothing to do with this thread and everything to do with the fact he feels personally affronted by my appraisal over M2. Thats his problem. Yep, thats what I am quoting but I am not obsessing over the canonicity at all. In both cases the Zentradi are very definitely chasing the Macross. I just see the different depictions of their social makeup as two points of the same element. At worst, DYRL? is fan service. Hahaha Sure why not, its implied yes. I'm not so sure that implication pertains to a few thousand more 4+ million strong fleets with attached Supreme Commander.. Bodol-za is supposed to be their Supreme Commander (lets not forget) This has stronger implications. Well she very obviously did, didn't she, mate? "Britai the Backstabber"; whats even more interesting is that nor she, nor Advisory Tranq'eul seem to care all that much at all. Tranq'el seems to hold Exedol in high esteem however, which is another fascinating point. They have no culture and thus no social structure, but believe their historians hold special status regardless, its almost whimsy. Their entire organization is specifically hierarchial and military. Hardly, its fairly obvious Supreme Commander Bodol-za knew more than he was willing to let on, regardless of the TV series or the movie. The gist I got was that he needed confirmation as to what extent these aliens in possession of technology that vastly differs from anything else they own is impactful (but somehow manage to fix their quarry and even *ghasp* can use it! deculture!). I don't think the Supervision Army and the Zentradi are evenly matched at all. Britia's directives were to confirm and/or capture the crashed ship. Not destroy the planet and its occupants. Their science seems to stop at analysis, not provide them with the ability to repair or innovate tech. Which implies that the ships occupants were the real motive. The movie re-organizes the relationships between the main characters from Earth but does away with Booby trap etc.. but its still made obvious that these events occurred and begins at the Sol system rim. The island has been warped and 50+ thousand residents exist in the guts of Macross. All they really did was speed it along and they do this everywhere. The UN didn't wipe out every detachment that assaulted Earth, whether you take that event to occur in the Movie (whilst the Macross was rim system) or from the TV series after they returned to Earth. I think that its common for Meltran to accost Zentran for info, thus no matter how you view the actual event of the destruction of Earth and subsequent destruction of the main Zentradi fleet and Supreme Commander. No doubt would have come across elements escaping either the battle for Earth or fleeing the destruction of Bodol-za's fortress and their SC; and subsequently learned of events. In a spartan society, due to social and cultural makeup, women played a supportive role and everyone knew their job. In the case of Macross, women play an active role. This would put them at odds with the men on every level. There are no limitations of reproduction, no science, no social interaction and no culture developed to bind them. Thus I feel that Meltran only acquiesce to work directly with Zentran when they either get what they want or feel that their hierarchy is threatened to extinction in some manner. Just like a woman I guess.. if we were all cavemen with no sex drives and an advanced military hierarchy.
  23. What pain? I am quite comfortable with where I am coming from. I actually think its kinda funny that people want to get stuck on an allegorical comment (that makes perfect sense to me), made as a personal observation and undocumented specifically, that otherwise really doesn't change anything other than how one views whom was involved. I don't buy that those involved with Macross and part of that business didn't provide their advice or input simply because they were not at the helm or directly responsible with it. Thats not how this business works and my comment in a long post was just a single comment. I don't want to get stuck on it either. The post was essentially an opinion about Macross II. Thats not going to change.
  24. Well hang on a second. Don't you think the production team kinda has some idea of what their target presentation is, when producing the show? Pretty sure thats a big consideration for production targets. Even after the final edit is cut I am pretty sure it goes through post processing to format. So what really is likely to be a HD of that given its still in 4:3? Not a lot right.
