Snagged another grail for my collection.

Yammie 1/60 1s Max non-weathered for almost 29k yen (with DHL shipping). Slight box fade, sticky hands and rainbow canopy intact.

If Bandai does one in for the DX VF-1 line up, you know that I'll be on it! ;)

A great addition to any collection! Nice pick up! (and hope things are well in the Great White North from your "Southern neighbor" in Buffalo,NY!)

  2. Happy New Year, MacrossWorld! Just wanted to give a huge Thank You to @Corrinald!!! Just purchased a nearly new Arcadia VF-1J GBP and the transaction couldn't have been friendlier or smoother. Arrived on the 31st (great way to end the year), was incredibly securely packaged and the valk and GBP were in perfect condition (might as well be mint!). @Corrinald definitely deserves kudos and his well earned reputation:good:

  3. Many, many thanks to @funkymonkeyjavajunky!!!! Got home today to a bright and shiny VF-0D, everything packaged up nicely, EVERY part included with the valk in pristine condition. It's surprisingly bigger than I expected! Arrived 2 days earlier than expected (awesome!) and he was incredibly patient with my numerous new buyer questions. Great communication and the transaction couldn't have gone smoother. Definitely a straight-shooter!!!:good:

Thanks, but to give credit where credit is due, I'm copying ideas from every photo of Brickdesigners' Hueys I could find. I'm just using a different color and changing things I don't like.  Still trying to figure the sliding doors.  I have long way to go, but it's been fun trying to kinda reverse engineer all these builds I'm finding.  And like M'Kyuun pointed out, those are just transparent light blue 2x2 slopes, whose shape is apparently used by almost all the Lego Huey builds in the nose area :p.

Reverse Engineering is a whole different, and no less a creative, skill set! Looking forward to seeing the finished build!:good:

My current project is trying to make a decent looking Vietnam War era Huey helicopter using different design cues I've found.  That bulbous ovoid shaped nose has been quite hard to mold for me:

That is VERY Nice! and really some great creativity on the distinct rounding of the HUEY. And are those old school frosted slope pieces? COOL!

I've looked about on Instagram for LEGO leaks showing pics to no avail. However, I believe it was on the Eurobricks forums that someone commented about the Osprey's color scheme being orange and black. The tone of the comment made it seem as if they'd seen pics of the thing, so I'm assuming it's correct until official pics are finally revealed, which will probably be a couple weeks prior to release so the set can't be copied by Chinese KOs. It makes sense, though, as it's a real military aircraft, so to distance it from military association, I'm assuming the orange and black will be indicative of some sort of rescue livery.

LEGO already made an Osprey inspired City set a few years back: #60021 Cargo Heliplane.60021-1.png

I used the cockpit as the base for my VV-1 Samson

That's just very cool! Nice work!

  7. G4, and it's earlier incarnation of Tech TV, were one of the first platforms that really looked at gaming with a, dare I say, serious?, eye. Used to love it! And Sessler, between the obligatory comedy bits, gave some really good insight. Intrigued to see where they go with this!

  8. :shok: This is an amazing collection and FANTASTIC customization!!! And dare I say it, this was an incredibly educational thread, too! From the photographic composition to your kindness of sharing the details of your panel lining process, just overall wow! Thank you for sharing this on the forum!!!

If anyone is interested, here is a wide screen version. It surprised me when they integrated flashback at the end. That was a pleasant surprise.

Thanks for sharing that link. That's a VERY clean copy! Is that from a Blu-ray release? I've got to add that to the re-watch rotation (currently almost done with Frontier).

Me too! I thought frontier was incredible. I am an oldtaku who was introduced to the franchise by the robotech.

Delta personally wasn’t my favorite. Not because of walkure (which took some getting acclimated to) but because the story completely slammed on the brakes after the 1st cour. I mean we had a whole talking head exposition episode.

hope springs eternal, so I do look forward to the next installment, happy it isn’t 8+ years between iterations like it has been in the past.

Oldtaku!!! That is brilliant! Can we all completely steal that phrase? I think it really sums up the Western Macross fanbase (and most Western Anime fans in general).

Man i wish bandai considers releasing a 1/48 TV Max after hikaru instead.

Nice pics everyone, this thread always makes me want to splurge!

A 1/48 TV Max and Kakizaki (sorry, I think I legally have to call him, "Ben," here in the states :p) would just make for a quality triumvirate of old school goodness. It would be a single head mold and a color palate swap, but the nostalgia factor may make Bandai think it a worthy investment. GREAT pics, everyone! :good:

Most Macross DX Chogokin's have enjoyed a re-release, however, it may time some time and patience....you can probably get luck on release day to nab one or try Mandarake soon after.

This release is different in that it sort of vaguely insinuates that this is a "special" early release due to getting a "free" stand and cardboard slipcover.  The closest comparable recent release was the HMR VF-1S Fokker....one came with a "free" stand and one did not.....however, both releases had distinct Pre-order windows and also were both only available via the special tamashii webstore.......I wouldn't worry about it...I think you will get one eventually

Thank you for the intel, jvmacross!:good:

  13. Clearly underestimated the pre-order funtacular madness. But hey, I'm the old guy dipping my toes back in the collecting waters and you young whippersnappers don't go to sleep at 8pm. Guess I'll just have to wait for round 2! (side question: what's the usual timetable on the second round? or is that demand dependent on the valk in question?)

Very cool to read the previous messages and see how helpful everyone was to each other. Congrats on those that got that pre-order!!! :clapping:

  14. Greetings, All!!! I tried posting in the, "who and where are you from," forum (and now I'm "post 298" map), but I must be old and couldn't find a ,"reply," or, "post," link so apologies for starting a new thread. Any help in the posting/reply realm would be greatly appreciated.  I'm Fred, from the Buffalo, New York area (and no, it doesn't always snow here...just most of the time!). Been a fan since the late 70's of anime (Starblazers and G-Force anyone?) and discovered Robotech in the 80's and totally keyed in on the Macross Saga. THEN discovered that Macross was it's own gigantically huge and popular entity in Japan and around the world and have been peeling back the onion ever since. Discovered this forum a few years ago and have been lurking around here for a bit, completely jealous of everyone's collections! Who knew this was all out there? I've started a very, very modest collection, primarily focused on my favorite, Max (Jenius or Sterling, take your pick!). Gotten some great ideas for displays from everyone here and it's great to see such a positive online community. Hopefully I'll get a handle on this reply/posting thing!
