  1. Love fighter. Battroid looks neat but that side view... Like that Kawamori is using new transformations but I wish he would also experiment new things with the wings. Since Frontier all wings have been just lazy huge ass back kible. Those things should fold or do something more thant just hang in the back.

  2. Yep, TT went the awesome route. From tfw2005

    Loose translation:

"MP22 is Ultra Magnus! The G1 toy was famous for being a Convoy with armor, but this Masterpiece will follow the cartoon concept. There's no smaller robot mode, cab and trailer turns into the robot. Same size and shares parts like tires and front grill with MP10."

Also says something about not having to detach the shoulder missiles to transform, but I'm not sure. Out in late December, price is 19440 yen.

The weird face thing is the "G1 toy respect mode" - it's supposed to be a Convoy's face inside Magnus helmet
  3. why should grimlock or Sludge they be any more costly than scoria? i think they are shooting for $200 across the board (by the time the american retailers sell it which I suspect is more like $145 or so in China) which i think is why they are giving us a stand and an extra set of chromed wings for Soar (adding perceived added value/content to justify price). Then again i could see grimlock being a touch more since they could likely get away with it becasue... grimlock.

Why not? The excuse with Scoria was size, parts number and complexity. None of this is the case with Swoop. The perceived added value is very poor. Chucking out an extra set of wings when nobody asked and selling a stand as something special is still very little to justify the price.

BUT if people just blindly preorder and let FT run with the rather evident price hike then that opens the gates for more price hikes.

Sludge? He is supposed to be very big and FT has already said it is difficult to design. There is your excuse to ask more for it. And like you say, Grimlock is Grimlock.

  4. Saw it last night. Fantastic web slinging action. The best so far. They also nail Spider-man’s humour, joking and clowning around when in suit. The other trilogy’s Spider-man was very boring.

Gween Stacy continues to beat the crap out of MJ. She’s funny, useful and sexy.

Three bad guys… that didn’t play out so good….

    Spoilers

As great a character as Gween is she couldn’t escape the fate of the comic… yeah, they freaking kill her… actually kinda pissed because the whole movie just jerks around Peter and Gween breaking up but coming together again. Basically what they did so well in the ending of the last film goes out the window at the start of the first act (blah, blah, her father’s ghost and “the promise” *facepalm*). So all that is set up to kill her after they just introduce the goblin… after the end of the third act.

Anyways, she was still more useful dead as an inspiration to get back into the fight as Spider-man than MJ alive ever was.

I still liked Peter and Gween interacting. Her saving Spideys ass this time was a bit more hamfisted (“I alone can fix the power grid Peter so I go into danger!!!”) but I still prefer that over just a Princess Peach.

Harry-Green Goblin…. It would have been better if they left the Goblin for the third movie but they want to rush the Sinister Six with full speed. If the father is pulling the strings I don’t know. Harry was good until they super rushed him into the Goblin suit.

The Rhino is just candy at the end of the movie. That trailer with their awesome fight? That is where the movie ends.

Worst part of the movie is all the time they waste with Peter’s parents. The movie begins with a very long sequence of the Parker’s last minutes alive making it sound all epic and crap. In reality it is just a scavenger hunt that leads to a magical subway station with a super secret laboratory/subway wagon to see a video that basically says “that thing about me being a traitor that you were just told like a few minutes ago? False. All this is because Osborne is selling a weapon form of my stuff to some foreign nation… so we ran”. That is it. It does take away a bit of the “Parker was destined for this” thing as it was just a random precaution his father took to make the spiders only compatible with his DNA line (which is good in a way), but so much screen time is wasted there when it could have been used for the villains. Movie would benefit from having SHIELD around otherwise the parents plotline is anticlimactic.

Oh yeah, Electro… meh. Felt like I was watching a villain from Batman Returns.

His character is so nerdy, such a big looser that he just comes out as a caricature. The cartoon versions are more believable. Powers were cool but he just was an idiot.

    Other things:

    - Jameson’s presence is there but they keep him hidden.

    - Felicia (Black Cat) is introduced. Harry makes her his second in command… because hot chick next to old prunes or something. Very loyal (I would be too if I got such a tremendous promotion for nothing LOL)

    - As we know from the trailers, there is a hidden chamber with all the things needed to make the Sinister Six. Chamber is in Oscorp tower… some shadow dude is hand picking people to give them the toys as per Harry’s orders to have a team… lame.

    - You can’t have a Spider-man movie without a kid

    - Parker continues to stalk Gween after they break up. Just like he stalked her in the firt movie… stalking girls turns them on?

    - You can fix science projects with webbing because it NEVER dissolves. Buildings must be spending a lot of money cleaning all those webs.

Overall, I liked the action but the story was bogged down by unnecessary crap. The main characters hold the movie. Still way better that SM3 and better than SM2... but I don't hold the original trilogy very high anyways. Certainly not on the same level as Winter Soldier.

Midcredits scene… there is one… nothing to do with Spider-man movies. Don’t get nerd boners up either. Just a commercial thing.

    After credits: nothing

  5. .......................................................................................................................

The orange ball joints are Revoltech. The green ones here are Hobby Base joints. I hollowed out the arm piece so I can put styrene rod inserts in there. Since there's not enough room for both stems of the ball joints, I melted the tips to the diameter of the styrene rods. Now they won't be able to be pulled off. Once I glue both stems inside, it's placed permanently. I move the stems around once the glue on the inserts dries

to make sure that they are not glued down also.

    .................. yoink!!

  7. Guys, Iron-man is not in the movie solving everything because

he was mingling at Pierces’s nice’s birthday party.

For Stark to “mingle”, as Pierce demanded, he would have to have communication shut off or else he would just call Pepper or Rhodey or watch ESPN to kill time.

    So everything makes sense.

How familiar are you with the comics?

The Winter Soldier comic is the one story I have not read. Hear it is pretty good but I for once wanted to see a comic movie before the story they take elements from (plus, until these movies I was not a Cap fan lol). I'll check it out soon.

  8. The Marvel Movieverse is getting bigger and taking advantage of the setting to do other types of stories. This is not a superhero movie like we are use to; more like a super spy movie with heavy comicbook influence.

A lot of SHIELD influence but not hammed in like in IM2.

MY GOD is that shield awesome in Cap’s hands!!! Really, the action scenes are worth the ticked alone.

Falcon works great as a sidekick and I would love to eat shawarma with him but I would not be interested in a movie about him.

    Spoilers.

Zola was done perfectly. It even looked like him/it.

Really like how they did Hydra.

    Fury’s car chase is awesome!!

Very nice they continue to develop the Black Widow character.

Winter Soldier character has great action scenes but his story and Cap’s takes a back seat to the overall SHIELD plot by the end of the movie. Hell, Fury and Widow clean that up.

The movieverse beast is growing. Foreshadowing a plenty:

    - Jarvis is part of SHIELD as evidence by Fury’s car. Jarvis is related to (or is) Ultron in Avengers 2.

    - Dr. Strange is very specifically mentioned. Mid credits scenes talked about the end of the age of Superheroes and the start of one of dreams come true or something like that.

    - The usual Avenger 2 foreshadowing plus Infinity Gems.

    - Hydra, Hydra everywhere.

    - Where did that super hi-tech arm for Bucky come from?

    - Hydra/SHILED douche survived.

    - “Fury’s European Vacation”.

    - Possible Bucky series movie or series or something since they gave the end credits scene just to him. Meh (worst end credits scene IMO). Spy with amnesia has been done to death; maybe as a series it could work but the MM is in danger of being crowded with more secret agents than superheroes.

Oh my they spoiled Agents of SHIELD!

When Sitwell started talking about Arnim Zola, who by the way uploaded his brain in a computer in the 1970's, that he can predict the future through patterns and past data it became clear that Zola is the Clairvoyant!

Centipede is just another branch of Hydra. Which means Raina and Ian Quinn were just handed to their own side as SHIELD was infiltrated from the beginning by Hydra.

Oh Retcon the Winter Soldier killed Howard Stark. Which could mean Stane was working for Hydra all along.

Senator Stern from Iron Man 2 is a Hydra agent. Stark kept his tech from Hydra then but by giving SHIELD his repulsor tech for the Hellicarriers he just gave them that technlogy.

Tony Stark, Banner and I think I heard Strange were targets once the Hellicarriers went online from what Sitwell said. Hydra's plan was to rule by precision strike orbital bombardment. A less ambitious but more effective plan than the excessive collateral damage plan of Cobra Commander in Retaliation.

Oh Nick Fury's car was supposed to fly like Lola but it got damaged.

In relation further to AoS that moment that Coulson and Sitwell met and Sitwell told him Fury went off the grid? Hydra/Clairvoyant/Zola likely ordered him and those Coulson called to lie to him that Nick Fury died. So that Zola can find out what brought back Coulson and what was hidden from him that even SHIELD/Hydra did not know.

Which mean Bob was not Agent of Hydra but likely Bob... Agent of SWORD.

This means Zola/Clairvoyant wants to know about the alien visitations that is even classified from SHIELD. The Skrull equation and that dead Kree.

Fury didn't die but was given a drug that slows down the heart rate. For a moment I thought the reason Dr. Straiten went off the grid was to give Fury GH-325. But likely Sraiten went under as Fury was reported dead.

SHIELD was officially disbanded with Sharon Carter joining the CIA and Maria Hill getting employment at Stark's. I don't know how AoS will go from there as they should be out of a job... But Fury is on the trail of Hydra going to Europe. Unofficially it could mean SHIELD went under.

Mid credits showed Hydra having Loki's staff (Infinity Stone?) and used it to give powers to the Twins Pietro and Wanda. Other test subjects died.

Post credit which I only stayed as everybody left showed Bucky at the Smithsonian rediscovering himself at the Captain America and Howling Commando's exhibit.

No spoilers for Age of Ultron other than mid-credits but it does make you wonder if Zola was not destroyed as he was supposed to be and would infect Ultron. As Hydra is a player in Avengers 2.

Oh Stan Lee was a security guard at the Smithsonian.

AIM looks like does not have a connection to Hydra only Hydra co-opted their Extremis technology. If Killian got away he would have been a target too.

Very solid theory! Agents of SHIELD is reeeeeeally going to get shaken.

  9. This pic certainly gives a good perspective on how big Warbotron's Bruticus is. And he is certainly a big sumbitch. Before I even consider plunking down the cash for this, I'm gonna have to see how it will all hold up.

That is a photoshop with thicker thighs. The real one has skinny thighs.

Here you have the big guy posing:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-3rd-party-discussion/951171-warbotron-wb01-unofficial-bruticus-541.html#post10793504

Gigantic but those elbow joints are a real eyesore at that size. Crotch plate is also a bit weird.

If the Giga Snarl ends up looking half as good as this photoshop by NECIO (and for a reasonable price) I'm cancelling my potato and going for the Gigapower versions..
