  1. Okay, so I'm all set to bid on this item http://www.rinkya.com/twview.pl?URL=http:/...ction/g44168915

waiting for the last minute, so that no one out bids me, but like maybe 5 hours before the auction ends, the price is way too high (like 56 000 yen) which is above my max, so I figure its a done deal right? Wrong, look at the ending price, 22 500 ???!!!?? WTF is going on here?, I remember checking the bid history and there were like 4 other bidders that for sure bid over this amount? I was a little concerned, because one of he high bidders had no feedback ( but he didn't have the high bid of 56 000, someone else did, and someone was below the 56 000 bid and did have feedback).

I guess, I'm just also really peeved, because it was won at such a great price, but still, It really boggles my mind? Are bids easily retractable on Yahoo Japan (ah, I changed me mind - *retract*). What's to stop people from cancelling Willy - Nilly then? What's to stop people ffrom getting a friend to push the bid ridiculously high , and then have said friend retract the bid at the last minute, making the purchase price really low.

Arrrghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I really wanted that too.

  2. You're killin' me Valk... at least once can't you be on my side?

Alas, the forces of $ are against me...I am Cannon Fodder...weak lonely, cannon fodder...*tear*...

I really doubt that toy will go any lower, at best maybe Yen40,000! I believe the original retail price for the toy was in the region of Yen20,000 to 25,000, not to mention how rare this is and this one is brand new!

  3. Yeah, I saw that. "big" discount eh? I don't think so. Hey, maybe if I wait long enough he'll take it down another notch.

I believe it is up in Yahoo Japan for a whooping Yen50,000! Take this as a dicount as last week it was going for Yen80,000...and guess what, no buyer, hence the "big" discount  ;)

  4. Np Brian, i just really hope they got em in stock. I know how much it sucks to need just one rare/limited edition figure left to complete your collection, but in the meantime it's impossible to find anyone selling it. It's funny how your post about the bad service you recieved at toys n joys has turned this into a bad online selling experience post. I really hope everyone whos still waiting for their packages get them in due order and i hope this also serves as a warning to everyone else to be wary of places like toys n joys <_< .

Toys'N'Joys should be called "Frowns'N'Letdowns". It's always interesting to check the postmark date on late items because you'll often find that the item didn't get shipped until you started asking them what's going on. In many of the circumstances you get lied to. I AM happy to report that I've had a couple of dealings with people from this website already, and they have both been really great! It's nice to find an entire website of people who are dedicated to preserving the integrity of the Macross name in all facets. This is fast becoming my favorite website! Unfortunately I've got my wife (whom I love more than anything) asking me if I'm flirting on here or something. haha

No experience with Toys N Joys, but I must say that if you ever pay via credit card, you have the backing of the credit card company on every purchase you make. It is the onus of the shipper to present a copy of the delivery invoice with YOUR signature on it (that's right, unless they can prove that you received it, the charges will be reversed, a shipping invoice is not enough). That means, if ever an item is lost in the mail, without insurance (it is the shippers responsability to insure it), by all means, call up the credit card company and file a non-delivery. One way or another, you will get your money back. I think you have about 60 days after your purchase to be able to do this, which is plenty of time for you to get your package. I just recently had an experience like this with a "reputable" company online, and they did not respond to any of my emails for about a week after I had sent payment. So, I called my credit company and filed a non-delivery. Exactly, two days later, I got an email from them immediately followed by a refund. And non of that -%10 restocking fee crap, %100 percent, refund. I don't know if it was just a coicidence, or if they got a phone call from Mastercard or something but I do know one thing, nobody f*cks around with the credit card company. nobody.... they're like the mob of the corporate world...

  5. I did see one in person.  For the size, it is quite cool but the detail on the item is not really there...

Yeah, well, the odds of me seeing one in person, seeing as its discontinued and rare, well....not good. But I figured if I don't like it I can always sell it back, right?

  6. Hi,

Well, I've decided that I really, really want this item, and it seems to me that they've all been sold or something. The person selling Yahoo Japan, has an ID Mikemot, and I was able to get his email address mikage@ohtoriacademy.com, but it doesn't seem to work. I want to see if I could contact him just to make sure he doesn't ship internationally so that I don't have to use the auction agent (their fees are pretty bad). So, does anyone have any experience in this type of matter? Should I try and get an account on Yahoo Japan, is it possible? Should I learn Japanese?

    Thanks,

    H M

  7. Hello,

I'm looking for any or all of these votoms. These are the high grade 1/24 scale ones made by Takara with Wave injection molding.

    Thanks,
