  1. they are "doyoshu" or something... Hang on and I'll go look... Doyusha ... I was close. They come up from time to time on ebay and seem to always be right around $30. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3560323625 ... the link in question I assume. Worst case you get a member state side to get it for you and pay for shipping twice. Best case... ask monkey nugget is he can help... he usually can
  2. looking at my glaugs I would suppose that they are the 3 black circles on either side of the cockpit. Kinda look like torpedo tube hatches. Only other place I could think would be the legs as there are three hatch type plates on the outside of each leg. There are also three hatch type plates on the inside of each leg so I'm thinking it's the black circles on either side of the cockpit.
  3. shameless, and yet still obnoxious, self-plug... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...t=20#entry41611 oh yeah... quote bigkid "I'd say your rows and rows of destroids comprise an army. That's pretty sweet. I'm too cheap to get that many of one type though unless I get really good deals. " my favorite kind of deals
  4. It would probably be ok in fighter mode, but in Battroid, you may suffer from a bent hip... All depends on the angle, how far it fell, what it fell onto (carpeting can be a life saver), disposition of the gods, etc... Luckly none of my Yammies have fallen from any significant height. I had one of my legs for my Max 1A fall about 3.5 feet onto carpeting without a scratch. The worst is falling over onto a hard wood desk because of the crazy poses I put them through. dropped... no thrown... perhaps... let's just say that it's best to keep them in fighter mode if you plan on throwing the table they are on as they just don't hold up in battroid mode. Then again... neither do JM's The worst part is both would be easy fixes if I could only find the two missing bits of plastic amidst all the accumulated debris. can't live without "rage-a-hol"
  5. Having both... It shouldn't be hard to do. There isn't all that much detail anyways so I'd just make sure it was clean when you primered it.
  6. looks kinda like the container that the vinyl mecha came in. you know which ugly as mecha I mean...
  7. maybe if the pod was shooting up roy... I can't help but think it would be cheaper to make my own set using a super posable [or even a yammie] and a matchbox pod mounted on slate or a brick though. How long till we see custom book-ends???
  8. I'm still a big fan of checking out store closures and buying old store display shelving real cheap. I have a few tempered glass displays that assemble using chromed metal brackets that tighten down. I think I may have all the parts but one piece of end glass to make a third on my back porch but I would have to check. They aren't as big as the one pictured above... probably only holding 3 1/48s in any mode on the top shelf and 3 in fighter mode on the bottom shelf... but at $5 for all of them they were good enough for me
  9. yammie's should be alright unless a bandai fall on top of them I try not to drop stuff but occasionally something like a glass table gets thrown... along with everything that happens o be on top of it. "just can't live without rage-a-hol". Which reminds me... I might have that JM part bobe needed now Glad to hear that monkey was favored by the gods of gravity oh yeah... I agree that cleaning should be avoided as much as possible, that way when you finally get to it you find all sorts of stuff you forgot you had. A HCM 'eh rob?
  10. there is actually still a large range. Collector sites have them priced according to what they are worth for some but to expensive for others. As always it comes up to ... "something is worth whatever some-one else is willing to pay." I know that a MIB bandai seeker is easily worth $500+, I also know that while I might trade that much in value, I would never actually spend near that much for one. The market does fluctuate though. I personally normally just search on ebays completed items to see what they average, as I know worst case scenario that is how much I could get for it as a seller. Obviously I don't factor the stupid sellers who put a MIB sdf-1 for BIN or less than $40 Many people however, myself included, are willing to pay more to fellow members than ebay [some refuse to deal with ebay alltogether to avoid the head-aches] as it seems better comunication happens hear than ebay. Then again quite often people sell for less here than they might get on ebay to not have to deal with ebay fees and annoying buyers plus they know that the stuff will go to a good home. I have actually benifited greatly from the "I want it to go to a good home and don't want to deal withh ebay nonsense" greatly... just look at my trade post As I got hooked up I try to spread the good karma around and hook up fellow members before trying to make room by selling on ebay. That and I prefer trading to selling as cool stuff is cool stuff and money is just money.... an attitude which might be why I'm broke all the time I might add a aproximate value page to my website eventually, but I just know it would be hopelessly out of date all the time. That and there is much more usefull stuff to add first that I have yet to get to. Here's a big tip for you though... If the seller is telling you what it's worth... get a second opinion just in case... Or if you want, I can sell you a original ulta rare transformable macress figure for only $100
  11. do fletchette guns exist? I remember the old thing from "three days of the condor" where an individual used bullets of ice stored cold till just before use that left no trace but water... I remember, and I'm probably not the only one, the air gun injectors they used for giving large groups of military personel shoots and vacines... How about frozen slivers of narcotics propelled fast enough to penetrate skin and render the target immobile or what-ever depending on the chemical composition of the fletchette. I assume with all the scary ass stuff our military has it might be out there some-where?
  12. Let me know if you find two ps... airsoft makes paint balls that fire from their guns... so it pretty much is paintball with realistic weapons. I just love paint grenades
  13. Damn... I knew none of this and had a mac... Granted... it was aquired from some-one leaving the country for a while a whole lot cheaper than that... and sold back at a tidy profit a year later. I think I ponyed up for ammo twice during the year... "yippie... look at me... I just spent $50 shooting a cans, trees, and dirt". Might be a good weapon for crowd control in close quarters... but lord knows you'd be toast against anyone with a rifle who could shoot. So I can only assume that my friends shouldn't be modifying firing pins on non-chinese made AK's? should I also assume that I shouldn't put "modified sound supressors" in my trade post I've seen some home made guns... and I don't mean saturday night specials either. Amazing what can be accomplished with a proper machine shop.... anybody here dabbled? nobody's answered my question about a 380 colt that looks just like a PPK?
  14. exo-squad 7" mecha is worth the same as original loose [aproximately] and much less boxed. The 3" mecha [ie 1/144 scale] exo-squad is no-where near as good of quality as the original takatoku/bandai which had die-cast. If you are serious about the diorama thing... check out my trade post and follow the army builders link in it...
  15. robotech... macross... As long as the toys produced are cool I really couldn't care. We all know HG sucks not so much for it's toys but for it's non-competitive business practices. This is fact. Hopefully when the alpha MPC is released and HG wants to export it to places of great demand they might lossen the choke hold on valk import to the states. I don't understand why such flaming starts in a thread about toys. As far as I'm concerned the toys have less to do with the cartoon representations than the skill of the manufacturer. as for the r head... I recieved a super posable in the mail the other day I got dirt cheap and had to admit that the head wasn't that bad. It kinda made me think of something I had planned for a custom using spawn bits. I hate to say it but I probably would pick up a custom 1/55 yf head to use on a jetfire . I will say purist crossed a line with the bonehead's comment. Saying both are bad 80's anime is one thing... making a personal attack against people who have different beliefs and value systems is how wars and religions get started.
  16. Jet fire is kinda the bastard son of valks. blasphemer every super box but two, which hold my o' and a valk with o' armor, have jetfires in them. Kinda sad that with all those boxes I don't have a single super with armor... good thing i'm married cause I sure wouldn't want to bring a strange girl back to a bedroom with this much crap
  17. I wonder if there's some loophole somewhere... Has to be someway of getting one short of breaking the law... canada is soooo the easiest US border to get stuff across... just don't tell them whats in the bag under the severed head A gun that got my curiosty is one a co-worker mentioned he might sell. It's a colt 380 that looks just like a walter PPK... anybody have a clue about such a thing? Oh yeah... here is a pic of part of one wall in my house Behind the freaky fan sculpture you can see the 'poon
  18. That doesn't sound like a bad initiation compared to some southern ones... "squel like a pig, boy!" Is it worse than an over-packed muzzle loader?
  19. bunch of gun loving nutcases I'm ex-navy so I got to shoot a 22 pistol in boot camp once Anybody still active mil? Anybody still active mil work near planes? The reason I ask is I need another one of the "remove before flight" ribbons that attach to the landing gear pins. 5 feet long with please. I don't need the pin itself... just the ribbon. In fact... if somebody has any desire for pins from an 18... Don't ask why unless you can help me out That said, I have played with just a few firearms... some of them even legal to own in this country. I know myself and try to stay away from fire-arms as I would likely end up shooting my x-box or some other inanimate object that pisses me off. As such, things like heavily modified ak-47's end up with friends who have use for them... not that I don't enjoy going through a few thousand rounds every once in a while. Kinda sad the gun that goes with my silver bullets is not in my house-hold. Explosives are a different matter as I actually have a use for them. Searching local streams for shark teeth and assorted fossils it occured to me one day that there had to be a faster way to erode stream banks to get to the nifty fossils I just knew were a few feet down than using a shovel for hours. Amazing how much earth a properly placed charge can move . I have a few friends who are bad influences on my already warped being that showed me how useful a shrapnel charge over a shell bed can be when fishing... just make sure the fibreglass boat isn't near it when it goes off else it's a wet ride home bailing as fast as you can. favorite gun... as in one I would actually spend money aquiring... Navy colt revolver with swapable chambers. Who didn't love the eastwood spaggeti westerns? I belive bsu legato knows the gun I'm refering to. favorite fantasy gun... cerebral bore from turok .... tell me that wouldn't be fun as hell in a shopping mall a holy handgrenade could be cool though p-38 space modulator? Then there are the sharp pointy things... I like bathlets but I don't consider them, or anything else I have dropped on my foot, fantasy. I have a side business selling pointies and I am in the habit of only stocking stuff I don't mind getting stuck with . The business made a whopping $68 last year but I managed to add a lot to my "demo" collection and a few from there have made the next step into my personal collection [ie not for sale]. From paki steel to chinese stainless to toledo steel that I sell to masonic swords from the 1800's, swords that have survived blade on blade contact, and assorted other cool pointies that I collect... my place has to much crap in it. Just another of my osessions . I mention stuff periodically in my trade post, but have been pretty bad about taking pics as that involves cleaning all the crap off my table. So anyways... I get to play with a variety on non-gunpowder related weapons and trained much when I was younger. In my personal collection things that I love... Ninja to 39 1/2" inches long with a 24 1/2" blade and 14" handle. My personal sword... The one that flows in my hand and has survived blade on blade with a much heavier full tang katana with only a few tiny nicks in it's stainless full tang sharpened by dremmel. the sword I would take into battle and will carry on my back should armageddon ever come. The Origin is unknown as it was bought years ago from a strange man who got it who knows where. The sword the cops gave back to me [loooong story ] Its is light enough for me to happily have a normal handle ninja to with a slightly bent handle in my left hand as a "shield". All I can say is it dances. I highly recomend a full tang katana, though mine has bigger nicks in the blade than the ninja to despite being the heavier of the two by far and also being stainless. Mayhaps it had to do with the edge angle or something? The katana can definately hack up some stuff when well made with a nice edge. my harpoon... "don't make me poon you!" "car 14... please respond to a possible harpooning??" The fun you can have . It was also a gift... I know strange people 26" with 17" blade full tang to style. Basically a honed piece of steel with a tanto like edge and a wrapped handle that I find ideal for yard work and walking through swamps where critters lurk. Bo staff. Again... a well made one is impressive. The weapon I spent the most time training with and my personal one can, and has, go through a car door and break concrete. the klingon blade on the right of the photo... spend a couple hundred hours using any blade clearing swamp land and you develop a feel for it, this one for worked well at kudzu removal for me throwing cards are fun I'm having my one double zatochi extended to 5' so I can use it as a staff proper... though they are fun the way they are too. my 5 foot ribbon like keychain. it's friggin evil and can break cinder blocks. My want list... I really want a nice rapier. The french were a world power for a reason, right frenchy? Lord knows how many french survived an arm slash while an opponent with a poked spleen died a slow death. "whats a spleen? I don't know but it ozes green when you poke it with a pointy... let me show you" lol . I had a damn nice one but a friend wanted it more than me and was better with it. chinese "hook" swords [pair] I just sooo want to play with them. a titanium bo staff another harpoon... never know when you might need two My wife works at bear so I really should be stocking up on some bows... mayhaps a crossbow for christmas
  20. 20+... I don't want to count them or dig through piles... lets just say I have 20 boxed Somebody has two green joons?!? Don't people check the wanted section off the top of my head... 1 leg clip away from completing my 8th jefire, 3 clips away from completing the 9th. joons patriot x2, space fighter, max and milla a number of re-issues a few originals recast seeker, ostrich x2, gbp-1s, and strike armor... with two extra strike cannons and a bunch of other resin parts. Thats not counting my customs, as they won't fit in a box, nor the half dozen partials all missing at least a few parts I can't swap around to make a whole one . I call them potential customs once I start recasting bits I need for myself I might try to get a real collection going. oh yeah... anyone who doesn't like their chunky monkeys can fell free to trade with me as I just can't seem to get enough
  21. Infected mushroom anybody??? Bo diddly grew on me after I spent enough time selling him connectors and him giving out stuff.
  22. might as well see if somebody is willing to pay for shipping on the boxes before you throw them away.
  23. My pattern is buy the toy, take it out and play with it, trade the boxes to kanata67. Yup... lots of stuff boxed, some even MIB, but only a yammie 21 non F/P MISB just because I ended up with a second and saw no reason to open it. I was the first person outside of the factory to touch my bandai 1/100 die-cast 1a, but as the boxes weren't factory sealed...
  24. and I thought I was bad being able to say that about 1993 then again... the state of my wardrobe might explain why people keep giving me clothes
  25. I follow the pattern of get something cool without box cheap then spend lots of time tracking a box down for it so my cats don't eat it I prefer boxed but less than 1% of my collection is sealed/unopened... not counting my spawn stuff which would disintegrate if exposed to air I find it easy enough to remove something from box when I want to and put it back when done, and boxes stack better than loose toys. I also find that my hippie coworkes and friends are more likely to grab/drop loose stuff lying around than stacked boxes. Oh yeah... anybody who doesn't want their boxes can always send them to me as a birthday gift
