  1. The only way to get all the scenes uncut and remastered is to buy the original 3 shows. Harmony Gold videos have never been collectors items. Each time they make us believe this is the last release of Robotech ever. It's not too late to stop falling for their lies over and over and over. Is that what you really want to be, Harmony Gold's prison bitch?

edit: On second thought, you better get Legacy before it's gone just in case, starting with the one I currently have up on ebay.

  2. I talked to Tom Bateman in the IRC chat. It's more footage from the original shows that was dubbed in 1984-1985. They're putting these scenes into the show. He didn't say what it was, but it's "more the violence" than nudity or ethnic gesture.

I'm selling my Macross Saga and Masters individual discs and I'll keep the extras. I've got Macross Saga and Masters on LD, which is overkill for Robotech.

  3. This I have to see. I don't know why, but I always love old toy commercials. Now if only somebody would find the old GI Joe and Star Wars commercials.

I have a tape of Smurfs and Chipmunks from 1983 with Star Wars toy commercials. It has the Jedi Rancor commercial. B))

    "How bout some wine?"

"No thanks! I've got better things to do."

"and that's One To Grow On!"

  4. That's Yahagi Shogo and Takanaka Yui.

In the corner is Yumekanoh Mai and her father Yumekanoh Genzo.

The additional footage was made for Robotech The Movie: The Untold Story, which is a combination of Megazone 23 part 1 cut up, reused Southern Cross footage, and the happy ending. Robotech The Movie is not Robotech II.

Megazone 23 Part 1 ends with BD beating Shogo, but Shogo limps away. In Robotech The Movie, he goes back, steals a mecha, and defeats BD.

The footage was then added to the beginning of Megazone 23 Part 2 English Version as an omake with different music and narration. Megazone 23 Part 2 English Version was dubbed with the Harmony Gold/Intersound voice actors, but it's not the Robotech movie.

The character designs are by Toshihiro Hirano, except EVE by Haruhiko Mikimoto.

  5. Streamline Pictures only released 5 episodes and an OVA/movie, but that's not the entire Zillion (ji-ri-o-n) series. That's just all they dubbed. I have a Japanese laserdisc of the first 4 episodes and the Streamline Pictures version is kind of different. It was "adapted and produced by Carl Macek" to give you an idea of how different.

  6. I'll get it sometime next year. There's just so much right now I need to buy and I can't spend the rent on all this. I got Mospeada. Mospeada looks beautiful, even with the blue tint and "Stig". I skimmed around Mospeada because I have most of it on the Perfect Collection tapes and I've seen it before but I'll watch it all later. Southern Cross would just be put next in the queue. At the moment I'm trying to finish watching Tenchi Muyo OVA (yes, I never got around to watching it all, but I'm halfway through the box set now), so I've been watching Tenchi every night this week, and then I need to finish watching Nadia, and I also keep up with Ultra Maniac (Triad). I'm getting Optimus Prime. Marmalade Boy on R1 DVD in April 2004.thumbs-up.gif
