    Went on a shopping spree in denden town Osaka with Bariaburu Faita and another Hebime today. Met them at Firebombar the night before and they graciously offered to show me and my wife around all the best collectable stores and I picked up an insane amount of valks and other macross collectibles (with the help of my amazing wife!). I shipped them all today so no pics yet. I'll wait till they get home and show my full macross haul from my Japan trip all at once! But the best deals of the day were a version 1 elintseeker for 6000 yen and a miriya vf22s for 7000 yen both boxed and perfect condition from mandarake. I can't even begin to describe how awesome that place is. edit: Fixed up handles

    Yeah, pretty sure they are v1. I don't know how to tell the difference but the Michael feels heavier and more solid so I wonder whether he is v2?

    Found a little collectable store in the back of a department store in Hiroshima and scored the whole set of SMS VF-25 with full super packs without boxes for 20,000 yen. Good condition, stiff joints, good colour, all parts and the only damage is the body hinge on the Ozma, but it's an easy fix and still stays in all modes. As a bonus it also had the special edition clear holographic VF-25 too. That makes it 4,000 yen per valk! pretty good deal even second hand, and they are all going to get posed and displayed anyway so no box doesn't bother me at all. Scored the Brera earlier in the trip so the only thing left on my frontier list is the VB-6 Konig Monster. Sorry no pics since they are packed up in a box and I don't want to unwrap them all lol.

    Oh no, you misunderstand lol. SHE bought the valk, it's not for me. But I'm lucky I guess, the secret is if you find a who watches Macross marry her lol.

    More mandrake shopping! I decided to grab a small valk this and grabbed a Bandai VF100 Ozama VF-25. It's a pretty cool toy, though it is VERY floppy so once I transform it to gerwalk I think I'll reinforce it to the pose I want and leave it there. I also saw an interesting one I've never seen before. A "Family Mart" themed VF-25 that my wife grabbed cause she liked the colours, also a pretty interesting piece for a collection. She got a cool Ranka figure too.

    In Tokyo for my honeymoon and just picked up a Gamlin VF-22S for 10,500 yen! Perfect condition, doesn't look like it's ever been transformed. Very slight damage to box, but it's for my permanent personal display collection so i really don't care about the box.

    I agree! I was worried when Yamato closed that there wasn't enough of a market to support new stuff, but I think it has had the effect of stirring collectors into action so hopefully if we keep supporting them, they will keep giving us awesome new collectables! I love the teaser, they haven't even shown the product and people are already thinking of buying it!

    Sorry Kanedas Bike, I was mainly referring to the collective criticism in other comments. I didn't mean for it to come out as terse as that, my apologies. Mainly the criticism with it being a female figure like that's a bad thing. Personally I think it would have been stupid if they tried to make a feminine idol styled valk without the whole package. If you going to do it go for gold I say.

    You can hardly criticise Macross 7 or it's valks if you haven't even been bothered watching it. The whole point of the out there valks is that they are supposed to be rock band styled costumes in valk form. They really go well with the themes and story since the military basically made them like that to give people musical idols in the military for propaganda purposes. Basically they wanted to use then as a weapon and to gather a fan base sympathetic to the military. I'm prefer other valks but they are perfectly suited to their role.

    That is the most amazingly displayed Macross collection I have ever seen. You need another cabinet for your Konig Monster! I wouldn't be able to resist giving it it's own shelf.

    He only piloted the VF-22 in one battle, and he only came in half way through (he folded in to combat... bad ass!), also he is a bit stiff and formal. So if you want to stick on canon, I'd go with the shiny new paint style.

    I've been wanting to get a nice stand for my yammie Skull-1. And it seems that one is a perfect fit. I'd love to see if they plan to do one separately. Can I ask if you can post a pic with it in Gerwalk on that stand?
