  1. Wow...I felt like I just got punched in the gut. I actually feel really heartbroken over his loss. It's always sad when you hear a famous actor pass away, but effect feels even more compounded when its someone you enjoyed watching since being a wee lad, to say nothing of the circumstances surrounding the loss. I also kinda felt like we lost one of our own too, as he was every bit the geek like the rest of us are.

    Damn shame indeed.

Rest in peace dear sir, and for all the laughs we've got to enjoy.

  2. No funds will be returned, because no funds were collected.

Everyone would be out two hundred grand if it weren't for Kickstarter not collecting any money until the end of the campaign IF the goal is met.

Also: What the heck am I supposed to do with my evenings if I can't watch the Kickstarter implode?

It's basic Kickstarter policy, if a project doesn't reach it's goal, no funds are collected. HG doesn't have a choice.

Ah gotcha wasn't clear on that and now I know, thanks guys.

Well after all this, I gotta say these next few days will pretty boring now. Nothing like a premature finish to ruin your popcorn party eh guys? I can only imagine what's happening at HG....

  3. Well, Harmony Gold's sunk a lot of time and energy over the last fourteen years into trying to condition Robotech fans to blindly and obediently buy anything and everything they arbitrarily slap the word "Robotech" on. They spent a bunch of time telling an assortment of hilariously transparent lies about Macross and the other original shows, and quietly endorsed the jackassery that their volunteer moderators and the stooges of those moderators were perpetrating by podcast. They worked damn hard to put the Robotech fans in an adversarial relationship with anime hobbyists in general and Macross fans in particular to maintain that captive audience of theirs.

    Mr.March

That sounds right to me. Then I think what I'm seeing here is a company trapped in a silo of it's own making, buying into their own propaganda; a lie which it appears is finally catching up with them in cold, hard numbers for poor kickstarter.

Why am I suddenly reminded of North Korea as I read that sentence? Hell I'll bet they have a private office slogan, going along the lines of "Robotech Macross is BEST Macross!". Yikes.

Fairy lemurs eh? They can be threatening ya know, if given the right antagonistic look.

This one's on me HG. Your welcome. ;)

    EDIT: I regret nothing. ^_^

  5. The thing is that RT is not the main focus of HG.

HG has been in the business of licensing international TV and Movies for the US Market for decades. Anime is only a small division of their business and RT appears to be the only remaining property in that division.

You forgot to add real estsate() in there.

Now back to our regularly scheduled waiting game.

  6. Hmm let me think about that for moment.... For me it be none other than everyone's favorite bastard child valk, the VF-2ss. I mean if we were able to be graced with a 1/60 VF-4, I say our chances for a 1/60 Valkyrie II may not be that bad.

BTW I'm the artist guilty for making these custom valks. Thanks for the likes. :)

  7. Caught this earlier today in IMAX 3D. Possibly the best picture I've seen in recent years, entirely enjoyed it. It's twice as Trek as the last Trek movie, had goosebumps throughout and I say this as one who isn't a TOS fan. Would like to see more, was pretty inspired at the end of the movie.

It may have been the IMAX though ^_^.

The new girl is insanely hot. WTB a hot toys fig.

Ditto for me as well. I also enjoyed how they had Peter Weller (aka Robocop) in this movie. All in all, good flick and I would definanlty watch it again. :D
