Macross cel sold for $3360.

Mospeada cel sold for $1800

Sothern Cross sold for $2280

This is listed as Macross 7 but I believe it is Robotech Sentinels  $3360

What do you think?  I was pretty surprised by how much these went for!

I'll add my thanks to the organizers. I had a great time. The way this convention has grown over the years is remarkable. The quality of guests, panels and activities is nothing short of amazing for such a niche convention. You guys really have been in a ton of work into this con and I really would like to express my thanks!

AnimeExpo has put up a musical guest poll. There are a lot of choices but one is Walkure. I don't know how much weight goes into the polls but it wouldn't hurt to vote for Walkure. It was cool to have Kawamori here this year and maybe Walkure next year.

I bought this cel from Yahoo Auctions Japan. It's really big! About 15"x21". I really like it but I'm not sure if it is published or a fancel.

This is the envelope it was stored in. Can anyone read it?

I really had a great time at the convention. Thanks so much to the organizers! Run Sasaki was so funny and it was great to have her there. It would be fun to have her back in the future!

What kind of item did he have in the charity auction that sold for $3200? Did he sketch for anyone or was he only autographing?

I've had this cel for a long time. I can't even remember where I bought it. It may have been here or on ebay.

I believe the two autographs in black are Tomo Sakurai (Mylene) and Urara Takano (Veffidas and Akiko) I don't know who's autograph is in gold. Does anyone know?

Looks a lot like a Ranka costume on the Office. The website I found this picture says its Katy Perry.

This I can't 100% confirm but when I was watching Dexter (it's a show about a seriel killer who hunts other seriel killers to satisfy his urges to kill people) there was this one episode about a comic book being made about the mysterious killer who is going after these other killers (think of it like batman) and in a scene set inside a comic book shop on the wall I could have sworn I had saw what looked like a macross or robotech poster of some sort. It definitely had an "anime fighter pilot in space vs aliens" vibe going on in it almost like a cover to a robotech comic or something like that. Not sure if this one counts though.

It was only for a brief moment but if anyone has the dvds or something, go to the episode about 'the dark avenger' or dark defender or something like that and look for it. Look around about 5th episode of 2nd season.

It looks like it may be inspired by Macross, but it is actually a poster for a fictional video game made by a printing company. You can see their other posters on their website.

If you have it, I want it! I'll pay top dollar.

Is it possible to get tickets outside of Japan? I've been wanting to visit Japan for a while. It would be AMAZING to see a Macross concert while I was there.

The schedule is up and there is a Macross panel Friday night.

Hiroyuki Kitakubo is a guest at AX this year. He's directed things like Blood the Last Vampire but got started doing animation in SDF Macross. It would be really cool if he could come to the Macross panel and talk about his experience in Macross and how the industry has changed.

Ok so here is an update. I'm in negotiations with her. It looks like she will make an apperance in the afternoon like 1 or 2. She is trying to set up a gig at Hotel Cafe or Genghis Kohens next to our event. So maybe Sometime early in the week. Anyway she hasnt said flat out no. So it looks promising

I see on her website she's scheduled a gig at the Hotel Cafe on June 18th. So that's great for all the guys flying in. You can see her perform the night before and then meet her at MWcon the next day.

Mahous ep 2 is available now. I just watched it and I'll say this, it's fast and it is certainly going to cause a stir.

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up. I watched the first episode yesterday and I really liked it. The first half was kind of strange but the second half was cool.

I really liked the music. I hope this is a big hit for Kawamori. It would be even better if it gets licenced at AX and Kawamori comes to promote it!

I got the three Robotech busts from Tam last week. I actually like them a lot more than I thought. But Hikaru's hair is not right. I wish the Toynami bust's hair looked like yours.
