  1. If Yamato offered this SDF-1 as a April fools joke, I think they would pi$$ a lot people off!! Pricey as this one may be, I'm getting one!!!

I'll be completely shell-shocked for days and not be able to say a word if they did so. Then I'll take a katana, fly to Yamato office, kill all the execs, then commit suicide with the prototype 1/2000 SDF-1 in my hands...

IF I CAN'T GET IT, NOBODY WILL!!!

  2. It depends on how much its tuned, and how hard you were hit. When you activate it, a little yellow meter pops up at the bottom of your HP guage, that shows how much PPB you have left.

Its actually extremely useful, as it effectively gives you 30%+ more hp per recharge. For the EX ver of 'after, in the dark' and the macross 7 EX mission, you'll love it a lot as it is usually the only thing that helps you complete the damn missions.

  3. I sorta can understand what you're shooting for, with the pink feathers, but it just doesn't look right. The pink feathers have to go.

Ya and here's another person supporting the idea of putting a blue sheet of paper/material before the feathers.

And I think cotton would not be a suitable material unless you really work at it, and suspend the valks somehow (the valks would just sink into the cotton otherwise and spoil the whole thing).

White feathers will do fine enough I think. Just get some blue showing and most people would understand the diorama.

  4. Nope, I didn't see any difference. My reissue has floppy arms, but it's quite a quick fix. Also has the usual stress marks on the pegs, almost tempted to wish they used magnets or steel pegs instead...

Is there any difference on the box between the reissue and the original?  Just like to know so that if I see any on ebay, I'll know how to tell them apart.
I don't have a macro, so I can't take decent pictures of it, but I can say there's not much of a difference between the two editions. The elbow hatch is not glued down and that's about it. Not much of a gimmick either, you have to hold it open 'cause it tends to close. Shows the same stress marks in the same places, wich is no biggie' like Prometheum5 stated above.

I say is a great toy, I'm very happy with it.

  5. the missle bay was never glued down was it? I think some ppl glued it down themselves because it wouldn't open all the way and it was loose.

Nope, it was glued down as QC problem for many of those, mine stayed up fine, just that it was kinda weird as there's no paint apps. I'm 90% sure I got a re-issue one now, as compared to a friend's 1st release.

Anyway, a few people on this thread have been talking about new Koenigs coming with fully functional missile hatches. Does this mean that the Koenig has ALREADY been reissued?

Ya, that's what I am talking about, since I already have the damn thing too. Guess Yamato decided fixing the QC problem wasn't worth hyping about.

Anyway, I'll be betting on the GBP-1 bundle rumour being true, and holding off purchase first. :p

  6. opened up my VB-6, but haven't taken him out completely, just checked for the missile covers and the peg which is supposedly backward.

The missile covers open easily now w/o glue or watever blocking, the pegs are still placed forward though.

Can I see a pic of the opening missile bay? Just want to see how much of a difference it is.

not much difference actually, just that it's not glued down, so surgery is not needed. Can't take it out, I just shrink-wrapped the whole thing. :p

I had promised myself nt to buy a macross toy till July/Aug, but it was the last reissue piece, couldn't help it, so it'll stay in the box till I pay back the difference in my bank acct.

  8. Heard from my supplier the following 'confirmed' rumors... believe wat you will, but they should be reliable IMO.

    1. GBP-1

    - WILL come as just armour, and also bundled w/ VF-1J which will serve as 2nd production run. The entire 1st production run has been snapped up by wholesalers, expect them to run out quite fast.

    2. Low Vis

    - WILL be reissued, but with some differences so as not to short-change those already with their expensive LVs. Box cover maybe?

    3. Cannon Fodder

    - Will come in 2 versions, limited and unlimited. The difference will be a sticker for the limited one, but I have no idea whether it's on the box or toy.

    4. VB-6 Koenig Monster - 2nd Production run w/ QC fixed

    - I just got one with supposeded QC fixes, haven't opened it to check yet. My dealer says the missile pods should open.

  9. Its not fragile as an alternator. And nowhere near as hard to transform.

Alternators are fragile? Hmmm, they seem durable to me, but I guess I tend to handle my toys like model kits, so I won't know...
