Well , Up to this date , we only have VF-1s and crappy M+ toys , nothing more , so there´s lot of toys to be made.

- Macross Zero toys = all VF-0 variants (A,S,D, GBP) Anti-un valks , Destroids , Ghosts ,and a new VF-1 rendition (just one ,not an entire new line).

- VF-X2 license toys = continuing what they left with the VF-19A ( VF-11 FA , VF-17 , VF-22  )

- Macross Plus GE = X-9 Ghost , Neo Glaug , VF-5000B

- M3 = VF-14 , VF-4 , VF-9

- M7 = Sound Force , Jamming birds , VF-22s , VF-5000G , VF-19P , enemy mecha , etc...

it's a nitpicky issue, so I don't dwell on it too much, but it's just an obvious reminder that they didn't plan for Macross Zero in the 80s, they just stuck it in because prequels are cool now. I like the show so far though, so I won't complain

I thought Kawamori had planned M0 long before Lukas ever came out with all the prequel trend. It wouldn´t suprise me at all since he planned M+ years before it came out ( 1985 to be precise , from the advanced valkyrie series ).

We haven´t seen the VF-1 in M0 yet , so we don´t really know how it will look like by today standards (we just know how the VF-1 looks from 20 years ago). the only explanation within the Macross universe I could find is that the VF-1 is a mass production aircraft while the 0 is a limited release experimental aircraft (like the US and british X-35 variants).

it's actually a little more than that, not only was the VF-0 a limited produtcion aircraft, but we can already speculate that the VF-0 was never planned from the start, as it seems from what we saw until now, the VF-0 was a rushed VF-1 with conventionnal engines because of the delays in the thermo nuclear engines... In other words, it's a big VF-1 that was made because they didn't had any other alternatives, thus the designation 0, a pre-release of the VF-1 that wasen't finished in time.

Yes they are, but in Patlabor 2, the F-2 isn't a japanese plane and it's not named F-2

I hope they wont make the Mac+ valks in 1/48, the 1/72 towers the 1/60 VF-1, at 1/48 they would be so big thet they would be doomed to a life of a display piece..... I see no point in making big transforming things that u transform once and leave to collect dust, if you can't play a little with them, they shouldn't be called toys in the first place <_< The 1/60 gundams are KITS, not toys, you have to build them Long live the 1/60 line and may it expand to other designs then the VF-1's
