You have to remember the title & movies before you start throwing out what movies they will keep. "Sarah Connor Chronicles" The only logical place they can start is directly after T1 because of the gap between T1 & T2 it's her and her kid, maybe. T1 should be kept because it lays out the character, but they'll write their own movie ending to re-introduce the character so who knows what direction they take her. T2 & T3 are majorly kid oriented, even though Sarah was the lead character in T2 the story was about the kid, so it's a given that they are out. That's only IF they keep T1. But since they've said they are kicking the timeline to the curb I'm betting that ALL of the movies will get throw out and they do their own timeline. So I'm not seeing anything like a "good" future war set-up with FOX's basic BUFFY/ALIAS/DARK ANGEL/Firefly/Drive pretty characters materials.

That's true. It could be worth watching then! But I'm not gonna hold my breath on that. So far the ONLY intelligent thing they've done is to axe the continuity. It's a shame though because many of the fans that are gonna watch it because of the movies will walk away empty handed. I see this tanking like Drive did.

Wait. You mean there are actually people and cinemas that follow the ratings system? Not the last few times I've been to an R rated film they haven't! Freaking kids were everywhere. And to debate the rating system is even more silly because the system is completely arbitrary to begin with, so a movie rating an R today could easily be either a PG-13 or PG-17 tomorrow. Only rating system more screwed up is the anime/manga age system.

Well that's what they've implied from the beginning so I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching?
chrono replied to s_i_t_h_l_o_r_d's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It's been out. But it's been selling so badly that it will start going to subs only. -
Sounds like Sunrise intended to screw over Bandai from the beginning on the liscense! The art looks pretty good, so I'll have to look up a bittorrent link on the series!

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching?

The directors have long ago stated that it was a partial NGE clone, but was intended to be a Reideen remake. They did a bang-up job on the series ending and the 'alt' movie ending, which firmly puts a period at the end of the story. Miyatake did a hellva job on the concept work for the island. I found Kurogane Communication more than a bit flat and emo-ish, but overall not too bad a viewing. Right now I've finished watching episode 10 of Heroic Age and will stop watching it there. I'll be getting the series when it comes out in the states. Good old Space Opera. The intro song is really good, but it's a real shame that the show has some seriously bad quality to it. I'm also still watching Macross 7... damn modem.... -
While it would be smart to buy the PS3 now for the backwards gaming that still exists there are just to few games of interest out to justify the 'get'. Sadly the games you list are either gone, going to multi-player, or are ones I would be getting anyways. Halo is done with this game because of it's story will be tying up, GTA will be going multi because it'll save RS development cost, and Warhawk (after I heard that it was coming out) for me was a real reason for me to buy the PS3. But you'll see an increase in MP because the developer don't have to build the network from the ground up, support it, and will save more on development because they won't have to put in AI or extra's like they do in single player games. PS. none of the MG games have ever been interesting, imo.

Oh I dunno. Miyatake is pretty damned brilliant in his work also. -

I had really hoped that he would only be at most an adviser & mech designer. As long as he doesn't pull any "We are the world." stuff... -
Well it's gonna be great or terrible, but either way it'll be EPIC! Have you guys seen the GL doujin 'Under 300'?
-
Sad to hear that. Because now I have even less desire to by a PS3. It also doesn't help that they've lowered it's ability for backwards gaming, but now to have even more "Online Only" games is further narrowing their audience market. Looks like single player truly is going to die in favor of multi-player after all. (in b4 "Just as planned.")

Star Wars: The Clone Wars CG TV series
chrono replied to GRAND CANNON's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well then your experience has only been limited to like minded individuals and groups, because it's flat out incorrect from my hobbyist experience. I have no hopes for this show to really grow much quality-wise and it'll probably only sell marginally well because of it's fan base appeal. But it should be a hugh hit locally with the closer markets. -
Just asking this as a confirmation. Warhawk is only multi-player correct?

All B5 boxed sets have the same identical treatment and the extras that are in it are great and in depth. ------- OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! That trailer is incredibly sweet looking! And the StarFuries look even more awsome!!!
-
The timing almost looks like it was their attempt to gather mecha fans together and away from the new Macross series. Heck they even threw in some multi-missile action. Just more Gundam "War is Bad!" PC'ing anime.

LOL! It was clear from the OP in the first few seconds of the First Episode that Kamina wasn't going to stay with the cast. Hell when they got to fighting the creature in the first episode you could tell that Simon had more GAR then 10 Kamina's put together. This series is just a getter robo & marvel comics copycat with the story of Gunbuster/DieBuster plugged in and only slightly changed. Turn off your brain Gainax anime at their best!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars CG TV series

This is not to be unexpected from the shallow pool of talent that he is pulling from. His Asian studio won't be up to par for several years and is only at this level because Lucas transferred high level talent to be the heads of the studio doing the project. We'll see what style and level of quality the studio is able to produce by 2009-10. -
??? What! Ok that NGE image must be from one of the movies than.
-
Well since we also don't know the context of the scene it's all guess work right now. But I do agree that this isn't what I thought would happen. I guess when/if all 3 fight at the same time it'll be less confusing between suits, I know the series intro fight was slightly confusing. Besides given how the Japanese love to use Blue and Red in every series it does work at some level.

The Broodwar was a logical extension on what happened in the SC. Kerrigan was a rouge unit and the Zerg in leaderless confusion. The Protoss virtually leaderless and having civil issues with it's 2 factions. The Confed's were a mess. Sure the only thing that Broodwar really did was hint at a new super race, but it actually tied up the Zerg, Protoss, Confed and Terran issues enough so that story balance was brought back to what it was at the beginning of SC. I really hope that the Xel-Naga are balanced and only slightly over-powered.
-
If you look at the concept art on the SC2 site you'll see a design that is actually pretty interesting. "Along came a spider...." ------ Right now I'm up in the air over this game news. I'm not impressed with the slightly cartoon nature of some of the vehicles and the backgrounds being heavily detailed as they are make seeing your units somewhat difficult. The newer Protoss designs just don't look like Protoss units at all beyond the yellow & blue colors. The news about 'no hero units' doesn't really mean much because they'll need such tradional SC units in SC2 to simply advance the story with the same impact. Now they may be referring to WarCraft styled hero units when they say this. Which makes good sense. Worth following though!!! I really hope this is so because that would really be quite cool. The same way for resource collectors/repair units, bunkers, fighters/flyers, & especially medics!

!@#$%^&*()_+!@#$%^&*()!@#$%^&*(!!!! The ONLY good part to tonight's show was the fact that Nathan stepped-up and decided to lead instead of being lead. That straight up was the best of the seasons high points! Hiro...... mister goddamned asian quantum leap boy. farter needs to teleport into a farting rock. It's excessively tiresome time jumping bullshit that's been done dozens of times better in mydrid shows. BTW Hiro doesn't time-jump Linearly, the vegas time-jump proved that and it was further reinforced by the diner girl, he time jumps side ways into other realities. Dead black guy flashback. Saw it coming from the beginning when Peter absorbed nathan's powers and his dreamwalker power. OR there is an Omni-path in the world. The Sylar ending...... massively disappointing. Well the series was entertaining, shame it has no future now. ----- Did anyone else notice that Ted's death was painted by the 'future-painter'?

99% of the time, the 1% is all-a-rounders, Professional Animators have nothing to do with the designs nor how they transform. They are little more than techs. under the direction of the director or lead. Clearly you don't have any idea of how it works in the 3D industry nor the hobbyist arena, so just shut the fart up. sh002, EXCELLENT point! And thanks for pointing out what's been bugging me about the designs.
