  2. Yes, Future is very glossy, but so is the plastic used in the DX toys anyway, so it's not a big deal to to coat the whole thing. You could then spray it with a semi-gloss or flat coat afterward if the gloss isn't desirable.

Guys - Thanks for the tip about using polish. I finally broke down and bought an armored DX vf-25 and am looking to preserve it (for eternity).

How did you guys actually apply the future polish ? Did you spray it onto the DX (25 or 27) while it was in fighter mode or battroid mode? I am worried that after coating, there will be a clear transparent but uneven layer on my spanking new $200 toy! From what I am reading on this forum it seems like Pledge Future polish is the best brand for this usage and will not corrode the paint?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

  3. !! Being a great Langrisser and Macross fan I am kicking myself for not discovering Eternal Love Song earlier!

<everything is on iMacross - Thank you Boinger!>

    Help!

Has anyone managed to run the game? I have tried everything (emulators/burning the game onto CD) but after loading the game, I just get a black screen!

    Any help gratefully received! Thanks!

  4. Ootake should work.

    http://www.ouma.jp/ootake/

But Ootake is SLOW. Author seems to be going for maximum accuracy, and speed suffers greatly.

There's a few other emus, but I haven't tried them enough to give a verdict.

  5. This thread is too vague.

Technically, they WERE produced. Bandai made a transformable model kit for the VF-whatever-it-was-called-in-Macross-II.

But I gather you mean will Yamato or Bandai make a 1/60 or something like that scale?

Personally I think there are better things to do. I don't like the designs. They look like Macross 'Seed Destiny' with all those bigger guns which are just out of proportion.

But who knows - if Yamato did it I'd probably buy it. I don't know enough about it to really have an opinion - which makes me the perfect candidate to write my thoughts down on the internets ;P

    Pete

I would buy them in a heartbeat!

IMHO big guns in space totally work since aerodynamics do not matter (i guess if you compensate for the recoil force, if any)! Even if the idea were scientifically ridiculous (i'm no expert), I'm all for super tooled up valkyries!

  6. How a Macross game should be. EPIC (with less point-n-click). :D

I kinda realized that Frontier's music reminds alot of Star Wars when someone commented about it...

Yeah! I think half the reason why its so epic is because of the music...

Speaking of the music, I just found this online typing game which features the Aimo song from Macross Frontier... the game is strangely addictive but incredibly tough since you're typing japanese with english alphabets...

<if you scroll down to the 2nd song, it should be "Aimo">

  7. I guess I wanted to document the process of how I made the canopy. Firstly, as I'd already painted the area, I put in the clear wrapper to protect it, while I mashed in some epoxy putty to get the shape of the cockpit tub. This would form the base of the canopy buck I was making. Once this was semi dry, I pulled it out, aided by the clear wrapper. I then put some Mori-Mori on top of this, (next pic) and once it dried, shaped it to the canopy shape I liked - kind of angular at the front, and rounded at the back. I then mounted it on something tough. Some acetate was heated up, and pulled down over the top of it. Once trimmed, this produced the perfectly clear canopy you see in the very last picture.

The resin canopy that came with the kit wasn't too bad as resin canopies go, but as I'm going to be tinting this, I wanted it as clear as possible, so I had to manufacture my own.

Wow PetarB thanks for that! Can I ask how you heated up the acetate without burning it? And where did you get your acetate from? Was it just regular transparency paper?

  8. Guys,

I am looking for a mint loose complete 1/48 Super Valkyrie (Max blue) at a reasonable price.

Perfectly happy with a second hand displayed piece so long as its mint loose complete and comes with unapplied decals (could care less about instructions and the big yamato box - but if you have it, sure why not?)...

Pls PM me if you have one for sale.

    Cheers

    Nemmie

  9. Wow. NT, that's a nice gesture. Can you put one under the tree for me too? Red or blue I don't care which.

Sure EXO look for the invisible and intangible Q-rau I will be leaving under your X'mas tree...when its not invisible its usually purple.

  10. Will have the book ready by the end of the week, was sick this week and did not have time to work on it, any more takers?

Well I'm a lover of good sci fi and I hate robotech - do I qualify? :)

I would be happy though to give you my thoughts and see if I can pick up any "drafting errors"..

Hmmm... and I'm also a big fan of Ender's Game (even before Macross F).

  11. Ditto this question ....

A tad harsh maybe but I do feel they could have done a better job with the plot. Zero character development and the plot was slightly contrived. But that's not the worst part (the first clone wars animated series was arguably thin on these too), I think the main problem was the lack of any suspense (never once did you feel any of the characters was in any danger).

Maybe its best if you guys catch it and see what I mean. The "banter" btw Anakin and the wise-talking padawan was particularly bad...that really tipped me over the edge for this flick.
