  1. Fellow Macross Worlders, I have to write this letter to issue my most sincere apolagies about the toy's I have recently purchased over the past 18 months. Now mind you it has only been 4 items, but I am diabled and my income is somewhat limited. So I had to make my choices bassed on the theory "The most bang for the buck". So after reading the coments in this column, and several others I decided on the Mega House Ride Armor and the Beta fighte from "TOON-A" I have t say I have was very pleased with the Megga-House Ride armors (well ecept for the nasty habbit of the wheels falling down in armor mode and the loose forearms in armor mode.) (If anyone out there can clue me in on fixing the problems please let me know.) Now after my issues, however small the may seem to the general public, I must say I was waiting, with some dread in my heart, for the beta to show up, after all I am a diabled vet on a fixed income with 2 kids, money for toys is very low in our household I have to say after opening the box with nervous trembeling fingers, after slowly slicing the tape around the edges of the box, like a nervous schoolboy in the back if the limmo on promnight working the zipper on his dates dress, the waiting, the expectation, the sound of my own heart pounding away in my chest so loud that I was sure everyone must hear the thunderous beat of my heart. Finaly as I workrd the last twist tie free of those arms, that magnificent design, the materials, the obvious quality control that went into this final product. I slowly stripped away the remaining plastic, and as I set it slowly down set this fine example of mechanical enginering down on my drafting table, I knew finaly, after the exorbitant cost of the Yamatos, after the scale being all over the place, first it's 1/60 then its 1/55 then 1/48, now it's back to 1/60. But I knew finaly at last I understood sitting there gazing at that beta fighter I finaly knew what it ment to have a gigantic, proud, imense robot chubby, and I knew it would a last a time much longer than it had it quite some time. This is a magnificent product the quality and skill, scale and subject matter we see so seldome these days. My only regret is that I will experiance this pleasure but once, because just like your first time with your lady there can only be one fist time. My message to you ladies and gentilmen is not to let this experiance pass you by, a toy like this, just like that magic lady comes by but once in life, and seldome returns agan. 2. The device is attached to the Hovertank for use outside of the earths atmosphere. The additional thrusters and thruster directional blades allow the Hovertank to fight effectivly in low and zero atmosphere enviroments.
  3. You know the more I look at the Mega House on my desk the more I like it. I have the 1/8 Gaken and while the scale is fantastic, the detail on the Mega House just can not be dennied. I will say we defenetly need an additional decal sheet for the Rand, standing next to the Scott without any markings on him he just looks... unfinished.
  4. I recently purchased the Mega house Rand and Scot (robotech names). I must say the toy's are great in aperance, color and sculpt in armor mode is fantastic, I will say that the tires in bike mode leave a little bit to be desired. I have a nerological problem that renders my abilty to use my hands for fine motor skills and dextarity very dificult, even so the transformations still take a little longer than I expected. That being said this is a great toy and a great representatnion of the ride armors. Beacause of my medical problems they will stay prety much on display, but no one should sell this toy short it is a great representation of the ride armors, no they are not perfect, but they are a 3 dimensional representation of what is basicaly a two dimensional object, and a very well done representatnion at that. I can't wait to see the Lancer cycone. If there were anything I would change it would be the scale, but that is probably a personal choice due to my disability. Jon from The Mechfactory

  6. I am not a Robotech.com employee. I live in Maryland and work for a engine/power gen company. I related the facts of my return to the forum as it happened, And anyone who does not beleve me is more than welcom to pm so we can discuss the matter. You people should remember I processed my return almost one day after the toy was released, now that there are several thousand units out there and it seems based on the boards both here and on other sites that the failure rate is running about 25 to 35% if not higher. Can you imagine what the, probably 5 to 6 people in the customer service department are going through, because I would be willing to bet that they are not staffed properly, if the mangement can't run a company well enough to build and sell a simple toy, they for damn shure are not worried about the poor 5 or 6 schmucks who have to deal with all the return calls. It's no wonder that those 5 or 6 people are getting a little frutrated and short when dealing with 500 people who are bitching about a broken toy. It's not the customer service people we need to be bitching at it's Managment and the complete moron who approved the design in the first place, cause I kind of dubt that they did any "real world" testing with fans who did not work for the company. Before my company releases a new engine we give it to 20 or 30 people who are not in anyway involved with the company and we let them run the crap out of the engine then we take all the feed back both good and bad and make product adjustments before the engine is ever offered for sale to the public, and continue to make improvements to the product for as long as that engine model is for sale to the public. Perhaps someone should explane that to HG. Without the customer you have no bussiness, No bussiness = no profit, no profit = no job.
  7. Ok I don't beleve I am writing this letter but I must give credit where credit is due I am the guy who had the arm broken on the alpha even before I could get it out of the box. Well the next day I e-mailed the quality control department at Robotech.com and explained my problem. A very nice lady named Chantell wrote me back in less than an hour and after exchanging some information requested that I send the broken Alpha back and she would replace it with no problem, So I did. My new Alpha arived from Robotech.com today and I have to say it is an they knocked my sox off!!!! The Alpha I sent back was numbered 3193, the one I got today was numbered 812. It is perfect no flaws whatsoever. Chantell at Robotech.com took the problem very seriously and actualy gave the impression that she cared about my problem. After some of the bashing that goes on directed to Robotech.com I was expecting a nightmare experiance, but I have to say their customer service was outstanding and Chantell was a pleasure to deal with. After this experiance I have no problem buying from them again, I am not happy that my Alpha was broken but they stood up and backed up their product in a profesional manner, and you don't see that too often today. So I have to say it, Thank you Chantell for taking care of me and my problem!!, and thanks Robotech.com for standing by what you sell, your OK in my book!!!!!!!
  8. I got mine today took it out of the box, my initial impression was "Wow they finaly got something right" The before I could even begin to read the directions on how to transform it the FREAKIN ARM FELL OF THE DAMN THING!!!!!!!!!!!! I just don't get it man I just want what I paid for and I would like to have the luxury of breaking it myself. Has anybody out there ever delt with Robotech.com's customer service line? If so could someone please e-mail me and at least give me a little hope that I might get some help from these guy's Jon daishi66@aol.com
