Takatoku Toys 1/100 Macross VF-1 Collection
nightmareB4macross replied to jvmacross's topic in Collectors
I think we shared the same thoughts. It would be amazing if someone like Fanstoys would take a stab at the VF-1. After all most of the wanted characters have been done. Once FT s done some other 3P and supersize it with slight improvements. -

Same here. I wish someone would oversize the 1/55 to 1/20 scale. And retain it’s full transformation abilities. -

PSA @Shawn Just in case you come across a bootleg that carries a blue, dark grey, or white GU-11. It actually belongs to an oversized 1/100 that is in similar scale to a 1/72. -
You could always have someone just create the proper tray to accommodate the HMR. But then who wants they’re coveted HMR associated with the like of Toynami? yuk.

These 1/100 Strike Valkyrie version pop up from time to time. They end going for near or higher than a mint TT version. Oh how times have changed. Also, you could just use this version to any DYRL VF-1A types. Check out that wild head. It not like the Bandai VF-1A Hikaru. -
First is the sticker on the chest. It implies the figure was used a fair amount. Quite a bit of dirt around the edge. Second is the Jetfire armor is far too clean to match the VE-1. Next is the instruction sheet. There shouldn’t be any. From all the examples I have seen for as far as I can remember never had documents associated with these gift sets. Other clues are also found in the armor parts, but in order to tell if they are legit to this incident at that particular time, I would need to get a hold of it. There is more but I would hate to give away all the tells as someone could create a duplicate. It would take the right parts, but as we all know it can be done.

Looks to be inventory overstock from various sources. The pieces do look right but there are glaring parts that tells me it’s not from that specific incident.

A great way to know if the KO comes with the proper GU-11, the feet are plastic. If the feet are white metal you get a Susuraiger gunpod. -

Here’s is another KO with the storage area shaped to accommodate the GU-11. Looks like the same box. Differences to note are the REF number in the lower right corner of the box, and a different colored storage tray. -

Sure do. Most US available 1/100 KO came with the Sasuraiger gunpod, but there were a few that came with the proper GU-11. -

Any news? Thank you for your efforts. -
Might be the other way around. Or the Legioss/Tled combo is an upgrade from this. Lensman has a very old history compared to Mospeada.

This version is the same box used for this version on the right “I Trasformibli”, according to Tony Y. I have never peaked under the sticker, but I guess I have to validate his claim. TT V3 vs “I Trasformibli“ Box textures are very different. Zoom in and you’ll see. -

Is there any mention of this type of VF-1A head? the mold does not match the Kanzen Henkei nor any 1A in model kit form that I can recall. There is also white visions of these VFs released. -

Thanks, but it’s not intentional. When I bring stuff out it usually from boxes that contain the same type of scale. -

These remnant TT in Matsushiro packaging have all been dark brown canopies from what I have seen and owned. Possible left overs of the second wave of the original TT run. -

According to Tony Yao, versions that have the "Transformabli" sticker are Takatoku boxes. Under the sticker they are printed with “Made in Taiwan”. Note: the embossing patterns on both of these is very different. And the "Transformabli" box is slightly darker green. -

The gunpod handle of the 1/55 is far too big for the 1/100. They can’t share the weapon. -

So odd. Was this a Japanese catalog printed for the English speaking market? -

It was probably due to what was available to whomever received the molds. While many KOs have the Sasuraiger weapon there are other with the correct VF-1 gunpod. Aside from a few gunpods missing from the VF-1J Max, there was also many JM VF-1J Milia with missing stickers sheets. Missing parts could have been due to Takatoku closing it’s doors or Bandai not producing enough for unaccounted and unanticipated inventory from the incumbent manufacturer. I believe this information was found in the old threads. -
Agreed. After so many prior releases one would figure they would reinvest in the mold and create a better iteration to go with the classic artwork.

As an added note. Many VF-1J Max types did not come with gunpods. -
From what you have posted in these pics there really isn’t much more. Once in a while I would see bagged items, but the baggies were never consistent. Some were heat sealed, others taped, some stapled, and sometimes the bag was just folded over. But the baggies were never the same size type, mil, or quality. Suffice to say the items had a place where they were set into the foam trays and that pretty much answers your query. Hope this helps.
