You’ve done extremely well.
That would be a crown jewel in anyone’s collection.

Awesome set of figures @nightmareB4macross. I still have my Milia that way as well thanks to your inspiration.
Thanks.
I used an extra Max body for Basará and a Minmei body for Mylene to make TV versions, similar to when they were being filmed for a special event.

Thanks.
Once I get it, the kid’s fighting scenes will be more complex, like when Santa joins in with LEGO Star Wars and Minecraft figures to go up against various Macross mechs.
It’s a pic from last Christmas.

BTW, are you worried about some of your figures yellowing if they are by that window too long?
Well actually my screen name might not be what you think. Nightmareb4macross begins as Nightmare Before Christmas as I am quite a fan of Mr. Burton’s works. Then it ties into Macross.
We have a “living collection” for lack of a better term. Items are brought out to display/play/admire from time to time depending on what we want to do with it. We don’t keep our items out for long periods of time. If the kids ask me to bring out, for example, Gi Joes rather than Macross we repack items they won’t be playing with and bring out the Joes.
It’s a good system to keep interest going so we don’t get bored of seeing or playing with same things over and over. Plus it let’s the kids realize they can have whatever they want out as long as they are responsible and put away items in their respective place to care for the collection an have it last for a long time.
The items you see on display were played with and staged there by my son. They’re all in storage now.
During play they pit UNSPACY vs the Zents, as it should be, but UNSPACY was losing.

I might night be able to sleep soundly tonight after seeing that!
My son picked out both at separate occasions for different reasons. The skeleton came first as a Halloween decoration but he just wanted it indoors to keep in his egg chair. A year later he wanted a Robot Unicorn game party for his 4th birthday. So we purchased a few unicorn masks for his party. In the end we had nowhere to put the mask and my son ended up putting them together. Before the mask was on the skeleton it used to wear a rainbow colored and light up Mohawk (from a local circus) that now resides in the the metal pedal bomber plane with shark grin (seen in pic).
Our family likes to collect various oddities.
Sleep tight.

I am trying to blend certain aspects of Perfect Memory, the VF-1S Strike Valkyrie X-Ray póster from the Gold Book, and this poster. There are a few niuances that work well with the Yamato platform I am working with. Plus this custom will retain full transform abilities to showcase eaves detail.
One detail I did go out on a whim was to creat the Master File leg engine and it’s actually installed in each leg. Look closer, hard to see but it’s there.

Oh good. For a minute there I thought it wasn’t working.

Thinking about picking up my 1st Newage little G1 Transformer.....any suggestions between Thundercracker or Jazz? Or should I wait for Starscream/Skywarp or even their Megatron?
Either Jazz and Skywarp are an excellent choice. Instead of buying the single Skywarp, it might be best to consider finding a trio set. It works out cheaper with shipping. These are all available now. There have repainted versions from various episodes and movie.
My first choice because he is so iconic was Agamenmnon. My son transformed it first with the help or a YT video. Once I saw how easy a 9 year old can transform this without breaking, I was hooked. Both modes look great and the build quality is definitely abundant.

It's a shame they went out of business. Given just a little more time they probably would have finished up the entire SDFM TV lineup.
Did you ever finish up your "airframe" custom of the VF-X? Did you ever attempt a VEFR-1?
Tell me about it. They really were the closest to completing the line.
VF-X Frame not done yet. I have been working on more ideas for this including full panels made from soft drink containers. Plus there is a lot of details that I am still deciphering from the x-ray VF views. Too many contradictions and I want to create an almost seemed blend of all sources available.
VEFR-1 is still on list and have a few parts that require recasting to get started. But for the most part this one should be pretty simple to accomplish. I just want to complete my other customs first.
But they are coming.

The toys based on CG models almost seem like cheating, they're too spot on.
Wait what?!? Isn’t this what we always wanted?
I mean you can look at what 3P companies taking the anime correct route and delivering some very well executed results.
I would have to say one that comes to mind is the VF-171 Nightmare as it is a great interpretation of it’s CG form to a 3D toy and how it represents itself in totally. Cannon Fodder loaded with nothing but “explodium” that Bandai used to recreate what we saw on the series.

Yeti's site is still down. Anybody know if he made an adaptor for the Yamato 1/48 GBP Armor battroid?
IIRC, he did. It was in his 1/48 section of adapters.

I've had these laying around for sometime (years), but I can't recall if they're
for the 1/48 or 1/60 Yamatos or Arcadias (or both). They fold, too.
My guess is that they're the 1/60 shoulder hinges for either Yamato or Arcadia? Was it Yamato that shipped a bunch of these out to a user on this forum (then he, in turn, distributed them?)
(I have since moved on to the HMR line, so don't have anything to compare them to)
Put me in the queue for those hinges as well.
Thank you.

If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well...
If it's not worth doing, give it to Rimmer.
Nope, just real-world logic. The smaller, the better.
Honestly, at this scale, there shouldn't be visible panel lines at all... but if they're too small to be visible, what's the point of doing the work?
That was my thought process. I originally purchased a set of multicolored .07 led pencils to draw panel lines, but the results made the ship feel smaller. Another alter move was to create panels using Tamiya tape but it just didn’t look right as the edges appeared too raised.
Can’t wait to see what you decide to do with this.

Indeed, I've given some serious thought to getting laser-cut stencils custom-made for masking purposes, since (as recent efforts have proven) doing it by hand is labor-intensive and ultimately ineffective...
The feedback and encouragement is always appreciated.
Your dedication to this project is damned inspiring good sir!
I was wondering about the panels themselves. I never really noticed a particular size of panel that would be used on areas like the booms or legs. Do you have a reference you’re using to determine the size?

Very nice. I picked up a few extra sets of Miria and Misa for this and other customs.
We need more bridge bunnies and female commanders.
