Zero-Mare,
Would you be able to tell me what the red FSS mecha is? I saw it so many years ago that I can't remember the name of it, only what it looked like.
Thanks.

What I'd really like to see is how the decals have held up after TWO YEARS (wink wink, nudge nudge) of being on Roy's VF-1S.
I snagged a Miria 1J today for $200 CDN (a little bit cheaper than HLJ! ), and now I'm thinking about getting a waterslide set for her...
Is that like the waterslide set Barbie has?

FSS has some of the best mecha ever. I have never seen the anime (I really need to though), but I have always loved the look. The designs almost seem surreal.
I remember seeing these; Led Mirage, also a white, a red, and a gold kit and fevering to build them, but the prices for these (from what I found) were astronomiCalifornia!!! $350-475!!!

One day...I will own and build at least one.

KidK,
Got pics? I've been curious to see what this would look like in 1/55.

Count me in for one kit. Once the casting begins, I might be in for two.

Look at pictures of old GBPs (mint and used). The camera lens always reveals the truth.
Huh? Would you like to elaborate kind sir.
Sure. If you have ever had the opportunity to see a gbp repaint or picture, it just looks flat. Even if you saw one with a clear coat on it it just doesn't have the same sheen as an original.
and here is an Original GBP
Also if you look at the original, the edges seem to pick up more light (or allow more light to pass through). Whereas, a repaint completely block sunlight, when covered entirely and evenly.
I hope this helps.

That's pretty funny and disturbing.
How much time do you have to kill to come up with something like this?
Oh well, Monkey See Monkey....another Monkey!
-
So what's the going price for one of these rare specimens?
Mint?
Loose?

Funny how back in the old days people would customize Jetfires to Macross VFs and now it's vice versa.
Who'd 'uve thunk it?
Still a great looking custom.
Really? Maybe becausee their Jetfires were beat up?
(with a hint of sarcasm) Nah, that couldn't the reason?

Those are 1/55 heads, buyer beware.
-
Haterist,
It would better if it were a Jher-WALKER.

-
I dunno, I think I would take the one on the right. The one in the middle looks like the head is "prairie doggin'."
Besides, the sculpt from yamato looks like it is a real pain to pose, but a pleasure to own.
No matter what, I am still going to buy two from Yama-yama-tamato.

Now that's a Transformer!!!

Great Job!
***Don't forget to place the autobot rub-sign on the head.

Jasonc,
Try drilling a pilot hole. This will help you set the piece exactly where you want to set it. Also, it will expose the resin so it maybe attached to the sprue using CA Glue, bonding almost instantly.
If you use an angled sprue I think an an "L" shape or elbow would be usefull. It could also help when you glue it down it would present you with more surface to set together.
I hope this made sense.

Exo,
Phew, for a moment there I thought I had my work cut out for me.
I just met with BigKid24, cool guy. I mentioned to him about the cake. I told him I would do it only if there would be a couple of people (you being one of them) who would be willing to play the parts in that episode.

Who would you be? Max? Millia?

-
That's cool by me.
I'm not one for those back door shenanigans.

-
Last year I got a 1/48 VF-1J Super, from my wife.

-
Exo,
Post a pic of their cake.
I can't remember what it looks like.
-
BigKid24,
Go to the models section. There you will find the VF-1D "Virgin Road" Colors and Build-Up Sheets.

FYI, I am also a cake decorator part time.
I was thinking of going to MWCon5 with a cake, possibly macross related. Plus my birthday is June 20th, the day after the Con.
BTW - What time is the Con at and where exactly is it going to held? How many are attending and will it be potluck of food and toys/models?
What are the prizes for custom works?
So many questions, so little answers.

Does anyone have more pictures of this?
Front, back, left, right, top, bottom. I have only the pics of it, in the DW and that really isn't enough.
Any help would be appreciated.

I punched up FSS in a Google Images and came up with this.
The Phantom on the bottom is the one I really want. It's strange though, IIRC I had seen this kit at about the same time the Led was orginally released.
Correct me if I am wrong. Could you post pics of the other red colored types?
Thanks,
Alex
