Thanks for all the references and input.
Need to go back and look at the joints and see if its possible. The thumb and pinky will be the challenge.
The hand will fit. All you need to do is rework this are circled in red as well as the palm to thumb section. The center part of the thumb should have a rotating joint.
With this adjustment you can also achieve the proper orientation as seen in the line art.

Thread with info:
I bought into the 1/6 VF-1J cockpit and that looked good all lit up, but this is more appealing with the lights off.
Also, the grey would be nicer in a lighter tone.
Congrats to those who took the plunge!

Are you only collecting DYRL HM-R or will you do TV SDFM versions as well?
Looks good.

Looks like NY has moved from unreliable seller to straight up thievery.
They're now worse than Nin Nin. At least Nin Nin refunded my money when they couldn't fulfill my order. This store credit BS is just that. The fact that you have to harass them to even get that is just deplorable.
I feel your pain and share it. NY are straight up thieves at this point.
I repeatedly asked for them to bump up my order to a more expensive shipping method and then they just decided to keep my money and not offer store credit.
Worth POS customer service and staff.

It’s from the Macross DYRL Gold Book.
The flip style wrists have always been done incorrectly since the old 1/55. And there have been covers. What people actually saw were the fingers that appeared to be slats or a striped panel.
Hope this helps.

Do you have any pictures of it?

Thanks gang! I’m debating adding my minty Matchbox SDF-1 but I really like where it’s currently at.
@nightmareB4macross I got really lucky. There is a super cool dude out of Chile that I met on an FB group. He’s moving to Europe and needed to consolidate much of his collection. I actually picked up VT and VE from him.
Great score!
I am very happy for you.

Did you know there was a model kit associated with the release of the movie?
Long ago on YJA I came across a non-scale model kit of an SDF-1 in a white box with Macross printed in black and according to the description it was said to be a movie release giveaway. IiRC, the box also had printed reference of the release of the movie.
I had bid on the item but when I won it the seller decided to keep the item and I was SOL on acquiring it. Like a numb but, I forgot to save pictures of the listing as I was really excited Over it and was the only one bidding for it. Had I won I would have posted pictures of it.

Thanks for continuing your pursuit of the rare and unknown.
Ans as always thank you for sharing.

My strike pack less release of the Roy's VF-1S wasn't PF.
I think that was the only release that was standard.
But all the rest seem to have all the armaments, armors, and tampo print.

Damn that looks really good. -

So, I just got my first and only KO/3P masterpiece transformer, the Robot Formers Oversized Thundercracker Seeker mold MP-11. Man, this thing is huge! The build quality is nice and it fits together well! My Arcadia 1/60 35th Anniversary VF-1J looks like it could be a drone or a ghost booster for thundercracker! These toys are supposed to be around 1/48 scale, right? Anyway, very impressed with it....now only if they made Macross jets that big!

Great pick up!
Those are some of my favorite KO oversized figures.

Holding and messing with the DX releases I was, thankfully, never tempted to sell my 1/48 stuff. If anything it just reinforces how good those pieces are. Some proper hands really go a long way on them. It's a shame they Yamato didn't included with every/more release(s) since they existed anyway.
True. To this day I still wish they had released official two-seaters.
What was so great about the original 1/48 is just how easy it is to customize with just a little splash of paint or decals.

Repintaste la figura o es otra?

I noticed you did not have the VF-1S Roy Low Visibility, was this older footage or did Roy just not fit.
Excellent collection!

Any more word on any more of these? Question to those that have these, which releases are the Premium Finish types, i.e. the ones with tampogragh details instead of stickers? I think the max/milia VF-1J have it. Do any of the VF-1S? I wonder why we have not seen/heard of a VF-1J Hikaru with premium finish treatment, as far as I know, there hasn’t been one yet in 1/60 scale(sorry 1/48 DX, at $400-$500 plus shipping, you are out of my league...I am a broke hoe!)
thanks,
Twich
I can attest that both the VF-1S Strike Roy and Hikaru are PF. They are a pretty good deal and they come with Clear Fast Pack option parts.
Not sure about the VF-1Js.

Wow. Great mod!
Are you considering to model the hands so the rest of your Yamato’s can have multi jointed fingers like the DX?
Would definitely be an excellent upgrade for all Yamato’s out there.
