The models are not kid friendly. I built a few and stopped. Without anyone to play with and my refusal to advertise this for PB my pledge is gathering dust. Heck the only mini I painted was the metal max figure that now serves as my avatar. <<Thinking I might buy it for the kids
I enjoyed the robofail rpg as a teen but I'm glad I didn't become a fan of rifts or PB and Kevin S. I would hate to be jerked around by such a charlatan from the 90's till now. That's for suckers.

Or the sdf-1 could be used as an objective or scenery, just pretend it's really far away. I ordered one and I can't wait to receive mine years from now.
-
I always found Palladium combat to be long and tedious in the mecha worlds. Rifts combat took forever as each side chipped down the other.
You and me both. I ran a game of new gen and my son and I had the same result.

New update. They revised the blast rule. No new info on wave two or the resin minis.

It's funny how non PB employees are getting this done faster than PB themselves. I'm just waiting on some of you guys to start putting out 1/285 valks from all the macross shows and games.
-
-
Say EXO any chance you could make the frontier valks in 1/285? I'd like to see how they look together.
-
Very nice work.
-
Thanks! I didn't print them but they're my sculpts!
You sir are an artist. If these are yours then I take it your initials in the Facebook group are MN? Mine are FG. Anyways fantastic work all around.

I can't recall any backers wanting more detail. I guess it's possible, but my recollection is that it was driven by non-gamers and Kevin Siembieda, who still has no clue about miniatures vs models. And that the overwhelming response to the high part count was negative when first proposed.
I remember it was sometime when they showed the first render of the vf-1 in F mode (2 years ago maybe). Me and others chimed in wanting certain details done or it wouldn't be a vf-1. Having played many tabletop war games I know what's possible and what's not. So I was surprised when I saw how ridiculous the splits were on the rdf minis.

Hey, everyone. Just a quick note today before the holiday weekend.
We’ve put all the cards for the Queadluun-Rau and Nousjadeul-Ger on DriveThruRPG over the last week, including the Malcontents cards that just went up today.
Super Valkyrie cards will come next week, but I think Monday’s uploads will be updated versions of the standard Valkyrie cards to reflect the official change in the number of Long-Range Missiles from 8 to 6, reflecting the reduced cost of the Ammo 6 version of that missile upgrade.

Here's a link to the blog that explains the origins of rrt.
http://robotechbattles.blogspot.com/
One backer can't wait for PB to start work on the next era so he's 3D printing his own.
-
I did too. I come from a wargaming background.
As to why PB had to make models issue... Well it came up in a discussion on the PB boards and one of Kevin's lackeys came in posting that PB had certain limits on the size and type of product PB could make. For legal reasons PB could not make RT miniatures or toys or a true wargame. PB's license is for roleplaying products and RPG products only. I'll try to look for the post. Unfortunately many were deleted by their mods because it paints rrt and PB in an unfavorable light.
-
All those parts are ridiculous. Plus how fragile are the completed models? These things have to hold up to regular handling. At that size with that many parts they can't be that sturdy.
I have close to 30 years building minis and models. So I was able to build a few rrt minis. Almost every time I use the minis to play or they tip over they come apart. At least when it comes to the battroid, gerwalk, and fighter mode. The destroids and zentradi models fare much better, but they sometimes break too. I finally gave up on it. If/when wave two shows up I will give it another go. Unfortunately due to Kevin's inexperience with tabletop games he didn't realize that models make lousy game pieces. That's why most gaming companies use sturdier plastic because the minis get manhandled on the table. I'm understanding though because due to legal reasons PB isn't allowed to make a true tabletop war game without getting themselves and HG into legal hot water with studio nue.
They make better showpiece models than gaming pieces.

Looks like one backer just received a letter from his states AG. This might get serious.
-
In this case, yes he can blame the backers.
I think you may have misunderstood me. Kevin is implying that rrt sales are weak if non existent because of the backers.
-
It seems like there's at least two more backers who have contacted the BBB and AG. Personally I could have done without Kevin blaming the backers for whatever failings are associated with rrt. I just feel that if the product was "dam good" as Kevin says then the masses would have bought the game regardless, even if there were a handful of haters denouncing it on the web. It's also disappointing that many folks who just want better communication and the truth good or bad are lumped as haters because of Kevin's fragile ego.
-
Here are the letters 3 of the backers have received. There's a few more I believe who are waiting on their reply from BBB.

In one of them Kevin uses the backers own posts against him.

Here's the latest update. Seems like work on wave two has stalled due to Kevin and staff caring sooooo much about rrt and the backers. Basically there having discussions with the factory to try to minimize the part count on wave two. So there is nothing to show and at this point you can forget EOY 2015 let alone Q1 of 2016.
It seems the only reason there was even an update is because some backers have contacted the BBB and the AG.
Here's the update link.

This has been such a disaster that some stores are throwing away their rrt stock. In the video below it starts at around 4:15.
